Wow! This was so lovely! Thank you so much for taking the time to do such a thorough review, Walter! This was not as painful as I was afraid it might be. That darn line going through the rope though... 😞I'm so ashamed... 🤣Really though, you made some great points and now I want to go back and put some more care into some of those consistency issues. Also, I didn't consider that about episode length! I was actually working on a super long episode and now I think I'll cut it in half. Again, thank you so much for this advice. It's so valuable to hear from someone with so much experience. And I'm so happy you enjoyed the story! Adventure Games really are a dying breed, so we have to bring them back. Thanks again for the critique! I definitely encourage everyone to go support Walter's Patreon if you can! He puts so much time into helping other creators, he deserves all the support and hugs! Looking forward to more of your awesome content!
Thank you very much. It means a lot that you wanted to hear my thoughts about your work. I'm honored. And yeah, love adventure games. I know there are new ones being made, so not everyone's forgotten, they just aren't as flashy as other games. If I ever made a game, it would prolly be point-and-click or side scroller.
@@walterostlie I could see that. Adventure games seem to have more of a focus on art and story, so it makes sense to me that comic artists would gravitate toward that style of game. Same here. Again thanks for the critique and encouragement, Walter!
Missed opportunity of april fools: making an alt account for a short comic with everything wrong especially lettering and a review video complimenting everything about it 😂 happy easter Walter!
Again, every single critique you did (and probably do) brings some new aspects to think about- according my own work. I tend to do plans (especially for this project) and I split the plot in Episodes, but after all these years ( and even after writing actually books) i noticed I can`t probably tell how much panels i actually need until I haven`t done at least the thumbnails.(or in case of a novel, writing a rough version) So if If write my episodes Its more like "I have the Goal in this chapter" and if i figure its getting to long (or to short) I split/ add. For my current project the goal is like 40- 50 Panels (duh) and if I notice I need more time to tell - well then its a bit more. When I notice its a way to less story ...Well I have so much story to do-so I can easily add some. Im not to worried about the cliffhange thing. Cliffhangers don`t need to be always a actual "woah my main Char is in the worst trouble" thing but more subtile but still making curious. My main Problem is that I come physical on my limits since my time sitting for 16 hours straight/ the whole night (or some insane stuff) in front of a computer screen gives me a) backpain from hell and tires me up. b) I do have a life to manage- even in deepest lookdown. So I am kinda perfectionistic. I am deeply worried, that I never ever make it in a decent time shedule. Thank you for the wonderful Videos and Comics :)
''just take a break if you need it'' honestly i think i do, i don't feel the same level of excitement, hype and motivation as i did a few days ago so prob the best thing to do, is to just stop for a little while, but then i feel guilty on skipping a day and pushing my remaster release further up...sadge
perhaps write down a bunch of things that made you start, why you’re excited to make it and then creating a mood board of stories that inspire you or just anything that inspires you then write down the names of scenes you’re most excited to create. then put it on a wall? so you’re always motivated :)

Do you think that to make a webtoon it would be better if I used an already established universe (For example using the characters from fallout, and the settings of fallout.) Or would it be better to make everything yourself , creating the world, and how it works, with original characters. I ask because I had an idea for a comic based on fallout, but then I had an idea I liked much better, but does not have the supported audience that fallout already has.
Technically, it's illegal to make a comic based on someone else's property. However most companies will ignore it because there are too many people doing it and it's too much hassle. It can be fun making short fan-comics for properties you love and a good way to get a quick boost in readers, but if you want to make your own serious comic, I'd suggest coming up with your own world/characters because I wouldn't want to put all that effort into someone else's ideas. You can always make your comic in world and story similar to fallout, that's okay, but with your own locations/people/story. Better to make your own fans.
Quite possible. I'll prolly rework submissions so I don't get such an avalanche all at once. I don't want my content to be 100% comic critiques but I also don't want to make people wait months for their critiques.
They look at the comics you've created and shared with the world, then they decide if you would be a good fit for their company. So you have to get your comics out into the world or posted on webtoon canvas for the webtoon editors to find you.
