it only shows that Gen MacArthur is not a Politician he is a man of words and actions. My family and I were a true fan of the General. Thank you for the freedom that we’ve enjoyed today.

Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful that Truman and Ike didn't show up to pay their respects to MacArthur in either NYC, DC, or Norfolk. I'm glad that RFK and LBJ paid their respects to him in Norfolk and DC, though. And those reporters made sure to not release anything that would criticize MacArthur until after his death so he couldn't defend himself. Who knows if that interview really happened or not because they cowardly didn't release the so-called interview prior to MacArthur's death? MacArthur already responded to Truman's false accusation about nukes and MacArthur said he never officially asked to use that while he was UN Commander.
I think the JCS were angrier at MacArthur because MacArthur convinced JFK to not invade, bomb, or nuke Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. They tried their best to convince JFK to invade/bomb/nuke Cuba but JFK listened to MacArthur instead of them.
However, like Amanda said, the JCS did pay respects to MacArthur at the Capitol Rotunda. So, I wonder if they were really that angry about the so-called interviews that MacArthur supposedly did if they showed up with LBJ at the Capitol Rotunda.
