Yes agreed but I did pass a few times in the early evening and there was a healthy crowd within the area then.

I stayed at 'City Seasons Al Hamra Hotel' which is 1.2km away so not exactly super close. If you are looking for a hotel very close by, then do check out 'Novel Hotel City Center'
