Mount and blade really needs to buff spears. A big advantage of a spear vs a sword, because you see generally you only needed to stab once, spears also stab further than swords. That combined with a solid greek phalanx and you get a Alexander the great. Stab a dude 6 times from two directions with a spear and you would have stabed a corpse about 5 times.
@@Elzelgator thats a bs rule that is completely untrue, spears and bows dominated battlefields till gunpowder got commonly used, and even then it was pike and gunpowder tactics everywhere in europe.

They had: their heavy infantry never went alone in battle and had the support of light infantry and light cavalry. Granted the Spartans only fought in the heavy infantry while the other roles were fulfilled by periokoi allies or heliots slaves.

Dude, in general swordman beats spearman. It is used in many different game this way. It is strategical game rule.
