Blake Bashoff is so underrated. God, I love every Moritz, but when I saw the show (on Broadway and the tour) he was Moritz both times, so he'll always hold a special place in my heart.
the cool thing about SA is that the source material is so great and the characters have this cool ambiguity that lets an actor bring their own energy and perception to it- making it so that any good actor can come into it and create a whole new idea to the part and play it just as well, like these two have
I've never seen this cast before! I don't love this scene being played for laughs. Certain moments like Ilse's "But how about you, Moritz, still in school?" are supposed to be funny, but the rest, I thought felt a bit out of place. However, I liked Blake's voice and acting at the more dramatic moments. I thought Emma was splendid. I prefer her acting even to Lauren's, and while I think the raspy sound of Lauren's voice is more suited to this character, Emma's singing was very soulful and lovely.
Cullengirl231 I have a thought that maybe, JUST maybe, they could do an anniversary concert with both the Original Cast and the Deaf West End Revival Cast.

I saw Emma in Next to Normal! She is very talented.
I personally like Blake as much as I like JG.
I think he sings the part well but acting I prefer JGJ. I just don't feel Blake goes as all out as John does.

I wish the made a spring awakening reunion, like they did with rent, with john gallagher jr, johnathan groff and lea michele.

I wish I knew what they were saying during their monologues.I can hear some of what they say,but not every word.
This Moritz seems more mean than tortured. Not that that's a bad thing. This actor is more comical.
