I had a seller from TCGplayer that I bought a Toadally Awesome from, but it never showed up. It was right before it spiked back up to ~$60. The seller understood it was unfair and sent another free of charge. I got that one. Very nice c:
I remember when I sold my Crystal Wing for max value. Double sleeved it, toploaded, sealed with tape, put it in a small box that I padded to hell with bubble wrap. That card could have survived a war.
An updated version of this video for 2022 would be great. With all the new Master Duel players getting interested in the game and how steep the competitive buy-in is right now, I feel there's definitely a demand for it. Could point out some example budget decks or inexpensive staple cards, etc. Love the videos btw, keep it up!
I remember I was stationed in Louisiana. When I was back in SC on leave I ordered some cards to home in case I couldn't get them cause I was in the field. Didn't receive some of them in the mail. E-mailed the seller and they said it had arrived. Come to find out they did arrive, but my mom forgot to send them to me! I apologized to the seller and they just laughed at it
I bought 2 Apprentice Illusion Magician on TCGPlayer from FusionGaming, 1 Near Mint, 1 Lightly Played, and I honestly can't tell the difference. They both look flawless to me, very happy with that.
One other thing that I've learnt recently (returning player). New =/= Mint. Some cards are advertised as new but still have some defects. If you want a flawless card, ensure it is stated as Mint.
I have gotten alot of cards off troll and toad. Always got exactly what I ordered and at decent prices. Shipping was usually next day unless a weekend and cards arrived in a timely manner.
Team APS well i orded a mavelus from france. i live in México. it was 9 euros about 150 pesos which is the equivilant to 8 dollars. i have already waited two weeks it should get here in another two weeks. ill be back with an update and send you a pic in a pm if you want. let's hope it gets here whole.
I actually work posting things on ebay along with some customer service and I'd like to shine a little light on the matter for ebay buyers. Ebay almost always has you covered when the seller messes up. If the item comes in damaged in any way opposed to the product description, you can easily get a full refund. If you never receive your item and the tracking shows it was never delivered, full refund. First contact the seller about it your issues. If they refuse to cooperate DO NOT lash out at them, just open a claim and ebay will 99.9% of the time side in your favor. The only iffy situation is if the tracking says it was delivered but you claim to never received it, ebay will usually side with the seller. (This is why some services offer signature confirmation.) If this happens, be as nice as possible and very kindly ask for a refund. There have been so many situations where this has happened to customers over the years and I didn't refund them only because of their aggressiveness towards me.
Also, this applies to any listing -- Whether they "Accept" returns or not, you may still request to return an item or receive a refund because of Ebay's assurance policy.
I ordered 3 blue eyes alternative for 60 bucks back in '17. Never showed up. Said it shipped but the usps said they couldnt find it. Issued a compaint to Amazon. Nothing happened. 3 months later just ended up rebuying them someplace else. Probably one of the worst
I'm a returning thirty year old fan from when the series came to the states. I'm mostly a collector, though I have a deck I've built over the past year and a half since I've returned to lite collecting. Somehow I pulled a dragonic diagram and duelist alliance out of two of three loose boosters from Walmart. I've been weighing my options on selling, trading or collecting (it won't help my deck) and this video has been helpful.
My main dilemma comes as a collector. I've traded a few, but have never sold a card. I don't have any personal attachment, but it is one of the better cards I've pulled since I've only purchased blisters up to this point.
hey if its a card you love like me i loved my amazon swords woman (first card ever) and cyber-tech alagater so when i lost my gater i bought a new one 4 years after it was printed as well as a bever warrior ive always liked the art so i bought a new one for no other reason
I had a seller who's rating was 5/5 Thousands of ratings right For shipping, quality, got what you ordered etc. Bought Fluffal, Phantasm and dinodecks (3 decks 5£ off) For 25 quid. Didn't check thoroughly what was in the decks Phantasm with 4 field-spells of which 1 was Pacifis and 3 where celestia, turned out to be more of a wyrm deck then phantasm Megalosmasher was 3x in the dinodeck. So that helped (I guess) Fluffal only 1 fusion and 15 fusion related traps, only 1 of the materials needed 🙄 Oh and 2 miscellaneoussaurus (you know, the LIMITED card😂) Spent 30-50 per deck to make them deeeecent
I ordered 53 cards from Amazon this month. I check my ordered history every time I get a part of them in the mail. I still have yet to receive 5 of them, but their ETA's, are between May 1st and May 8th. So of course I've been checking the mail everyday.
I've been defaulting to TrollAndToad for not only the fact that when you order multiple cards, they put them in a soft cover against a hard sleeve and wrapped tightly in a bubble-wrapped envelope, but they also are very reliable about shipping to my overseas APO address. That said, if I really wanted to get some cards that are BS prices in the TCG, I can take a train ride and get the OCG ones that are much cheaper. Also, I love that you can get those Millennium Rare Worlds promo Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon pretty reliably from a shop. The only indicator that it's an OCG card is the "JP" where it would say "EN.
I once ordered a Full art pokemon card from Amazon and it didnt show up in the allotted time (3 to 5 days). I contacted the seller and they asked me to wait another 2 days because they were delayed in sending the card out due to either a holiday, weather or it being a weekend. Anyway the card didnt show up after the 2 additional days and I let them know and asked for my money back. I get my refund and they very next day the card shows up.
Victor Torr'Andell I've had good experiences and take it from a guy who buys a lot of cards. Like any other purchase on Amazon check out the review from previous buyers.
Victor Torr'Andell I bought about 1k worth of cards in my lifetime of yuioh on amazon and I bought from BrothersGrimm most often because of tracking and speed of shipping. I bought from Blackstone owl as well because I live in NY. super games is very good but got my orders wrong three times, they are stationed in Georgia. but at the end of the day go with the cheapest ones with free shipping. eBay bidding is better though by far
I'm actually looking to make my first deck for casual play. So this video is an actual help! Now I just wished I knew how to duel decently or construct a deck.
I have never had a problem with Troll and Toad. Shipping is free on all singles over $25, they all come from the same place and at the same time. I rarely see huge price differences on other websites. Maybe their rep wasn't as good back then.
Yeah I usually buy from Amazon. In fact, I just saw a card with a crazy price range. One copy was being sold for $1 while another (identical card down to the serial number) was being sold for $78.
My tip: wait until the hype dies down for a specific card. I've been waiting on gem-knights to decrease so that I can finish up my gem-knight deck. However, Brilliant fusion is like $9 atm
I bought a card, Number 48: Shadow Lich, because I thought I could use the tokens to XYZ Summon. Then I learned that I couldn't XYZ Summon using tokens. So I screwed up. But I'll still keep it in my Deck.
I got a card from troll and toad that came in just a envelope. No sturdy card sleeve . They envelope was a bit thicker than usual but it could have gotten damaged
Alec Fields Seriously they arent expensive cards but still. I would have been making some very aggressive keyboard strokes. Just kidding phone calls would be made. edit: cards were Gem-Knight Obsidian
The prices going up and down really confuse me. About a year ago I was thinking about a card that you, at that time, could get for about 25 dollars. I never bought it, but when I looked it up now you could buy it for ONE dollar. Do the prices really change that much? (And yes, I checked with several sellers)
Where can I get deals on shopping online for yugioh singles in Canada? I used to shop at toad and troll but my last order I got screwed over. I lost nearly 100$ 😢
Packaging doesn't matter. I worked for ups and we handled packages for usps and fedex. And I've seen broken lawn mowers, tvs, toilets, phones, and you can imagine a little old top loader. Distributors dont do any packaging MJ Holding which distributes the cards here doesnt even do anything they just put the item in a big box and that's the end of that. Also "lost" packages aren't lost. Most of the time they're auctioned off to the employees if not claimed.
Also try to buy stuff from not many sellers. I recently bought a full deck and payed about 40+€ for shipping alone because I bought from so many different people
Anyone know any good websites for buyin ygo cards in Australia? Websites like tcg player and troll & toad have $20 shipping costs which really hurts my wallet
Möbius the Meme Monarch The basic principles of supply and demmand can help indicate how a price will change. If a card suddenly becomes more sought after or more rare it is likely to spike up in price.
I always dream on buying a deck and research all about it. Play it a lot in online websites. But still dont buy it. and they are really cheap. ( I have over 20 archetypes in duelling nexus)
I all most always buy from TCGplayer. I used others in the past like Ebay. But, I hate the hastle and BS stories and lies become I finally get my cards or money back. Heck last time I bought cards on Ebay, I bought 3 Melody of Awakening Dragons. For 60 bucks. The seller NEVER sent the cards because the price went up to 30 each the nect day. Instead of just cancelling the order... The guy dicked around for a couple weeks telling me that do the bomb threats in the area the post office was really slow. Which is sooo easy to look up now days with a thing called GOOGLE. The guy never sent the cards and had reposted them back on ebay for a higher price. Like hello... I'm a moron right!?!? Sad! So now I all most always by from TCG. Always happy.
i only bought from tcg and now there no good all my cards are being damaged troll and toad maybe more but they make sure my cards are all in one order and none are ever damaged
Great video but that blue eyes deck is really weak. I ha e a blue eyes deck that just consistently brings blue eyes from hand deck or graveyard. Also the spirit of blue eyes effect allows him to summon a blue eyes white dragon from hand at any turn he is tributed why didn't you activate it?
1st Edition is the initial run of a set, and after that, the cards are Unlimited Edition. So the packs from Maximum Crisis Special Editions are unlimited, for example.
Stopped buying online after I had cards ripped out of the packaging, twice. Even with package insurance, that's bullshit and don't trust postal workers or delivery people anymore. Going through people's mail and shit.
Me when buying Atlanteans 60 cards, why? Cause I fucking decided I needed 3 ALO (umi) terraforming and warrior of Atlantis At the same time I got diva+ synchro 😔😂
I think I have been sharing too much about my bad spending habits
Alec Fields lmao
Dude i found a yugi muto deck which costed $25 at eb games but at mighty ape which costed $15 bonus!

When I buy on TCGplayer and they send me the wrong card but more expensive version >:)
No complaining about that, I guess!
I bought 2 Apprentice Illusion Magician on TCGPlayer from FusionGaming, 1 Near Mint, 1 Lightly Played, and I honestly can't tell the difference. They both look flawless to me, very happy with that.

Only 1 rule don't buy off troll and toad
Xskater3232X We definitely missed this one
Xskater3232X I was about to until I saw the shipping😂
Wait why? I just bought some cards off troll and toad and it wasn’t that bad

Team APS I ordered 5 entire decks that I made myself. The cost was about 250$ and they never came :( the seller rating was 90%

+Henry Beauford Very valuable insight! I've only had one truly negative eBay experience a few years back, but it was partly my fault, too.
Alec and Paul: Don't be Alex

this was really helpful because I wanna to do some online shopping for two decks it's my first time doing it
Good luck!
Living in Australia is hard getting yugioh cards 😂
Agree
@Nyxfy What? You have access to cardmarket in the UK, its literally the biggest platform for yugioh cards xD

Cory N The prices will only go down. If they are of no use, sell as soon as you can. I run an eBay store so I have some experience with card selling.

You said don't buy from buyers who have almost no sales, but then what about new sellers?
Yeah, it's a bit of a conundrum. Maybe I should amend my statement to something like "Don't buy expensive cards from new sellers"
Damn, that dude who bought my Firewall Dragon when I had no sales really rolled the dice.
I once ordered a Full art pokemon card from Amazon and it didnt show up in the allotted time (3 to 5 days). How do you buy decks from tcgplayer, I’ve tried yesterday but that $2 level cap won’t let me, is there a way to get that out of the picture?
As far as I know there's no way around the $2 purchase limits. However, you can buy exactly $2 worth of Yu-Gi-Oh cards from one seller
Does TCG Player sell card sleeves and card storage boxes?
great tips as always keep up the good work😀👍
Thanks!
Ive had sime good experience from buying cards it just bought a self built blue eyes deck from cards i brought
Tip that was missed: Pick up cards before they spike in price.
DeltaTheAwsome PSYFrame That's a more advanced tip
Still helps out since people complain about the game being expenisve
DeltaTheAwsome PSYFrame No one can accurately predict spikes though
Möbius the Meme Monarch The basic principles of supply and demmand can help indicate how a price will change. If a card suddenly becomes more sought after or more rare it is likely to spike up in price.
I always dream on buying a deck and research all about it. Play it a lot in online websites. But still dont buy it. and they are really cheap. ( I have over 20 archetypes in duelling nexus)
thumbs up for Paul calling Karens out before it blew up xD
what web should I use?
buy cheap old deck cores and wait for legacy support.profit when the support arrives.
How do you know if the card is worth paying 4
What are trusted sites to get them at
Top trick buy damaged cards cut out the card identification thing make a copy of the card and put the identifier into the copy

What is a good price for 3 copies of Relinquished in Ultimate Rare???
I wasn't aware it was printed in that rarity.
Team APS Thank you for your response! I was building a kaiju kuriboh relinquished deck, and yeah
Anyone recommend good websites for cards? I know TCG and Troll & Toad but is there anything else I should consider?
look at yugiohland.com. it used to be really good, but I haven't been there is forever.
CoreTCG isn't too bad, nor is Ideal808
