My dad would play this as he wandered the house making Christmas treats and decorating the tree and I now do it myself around my own house and hope my kids will do the same.
This is STILL my all-time favorite "energy" song regarding Xmas music. :) Nothing gets me more pumped up about cheering others up during holidays with this song. Much thanks to Harry C Jr. + his awesome band. Ah... memories.
One of my dad's favorite Christmas songs.. miss you everyday and I can only see us singing this in the car. Merry Christmas happy new year stay blessed ❤️
Same here dude. I am 29 now but I still remember playing this song all the time in bed during the holidays as a kid. I actually still own the christmas album I first heard this song on, called “Christmas With The Stars”.
Harry Connick Jr. has so many classic Christmas recordings and yet the stations that switch to an all Christmas format for the holidays every year will only play the same two songs by him over and over: "Let It Snow" and "Rudolph". At least that's how it is in Dallas. What a waste!
"(It Must've Been Ol') Santa Claus" I think I saw ol' Santa through my window Christmas eve My eyes were really droopy but I really do believe It must've been ol' Santa 'cause I saw his big red hat And I know my mom and dad can't fly like that And then I heard some footsteps in the hall outside my door The same ol' Christmas trick my dad had played since I was four He stands outside my bedroom yelling "Ho! Ho! Ho!" because He knows I don't believe in Santa Claus I think my daddy sees me Peeking from my door But he pretends he's Santa anyway Every year he tries to fool me But I'm a big boy now I don't believe in Santa or his sleigh... No way! So I went back to bed and I curled up nice and tight I stared out my window and looked into the night And then, all of a sudden, through my window I could see Santa Claus was flying by and smiling at me [Chorus:] Santa Claus, Santa Claus It must've been ol' Santa Claus Santa Claus, Santa Claus Happy "Ho! Ho! Ho!" to you Then I heard ol' Rudolph tellin' me to come outside He told me that ol' Santa wanted me to take a ride I climbed out of my window and I jumped onto his sleigh Then ol' Santa took me up up and away We flew high above the rooftops of my sleepy town below I saw my big red school house and the town square picture show It was really past my bedtime and so ol' Santa said "Little boys like you should be in bed" So I hollered "Ho! Ho! Ho!" And I put on Santa's hat Then he let me hold the reins awhile We pulled up to my window And I jumped back in my room And I waved goodbye to Santa with a smile When I woke up Christmas morning it was clear and bright My parents said my window had blown open in the night I smiled as I told them that it must've been the cat And they asked me where I got my big red hat [Chorus]
Heard this song in Old Navy and had to Shazam it to figure out who created this abomination of a song. My heart goes out to the Old Navy employees who probably have to hear this twice a shift. I have no reason to be so upset about this but it was just insane how bad it was. My mom was with me and she agreed with me, she said it sounded like he was making it up as he went. If you love this song, I have no problems with you as a person. I just felt like writing about how offensive this was to me and my family at Old Navy
Physiologically impossible to sit still while listening to this song.
My dad would play this as he wandered the house making Christmas treats and decorating the tree and I now do it myself around my own house and hope my kids will do the same.
One of the great, all-time Christmas songs. My kids grew up hearing it every year.

Just before the song ends, "Happy ho ho ho to you!" is sung 19 consecutive times.

"(It Must've Been Ol') Santa Claus"
I think I saw ol' Santa through my window Christmas eve
My eyes were really droopy but I really do believe
It must've been ol' Santa 'cause I saw his big red hat
And I know my mom and dad can't fly like that
And then I heard some footsteps in the hall outside my door
The same ol' Christmas trick my dad had played since I was four
He stands outside my bedroom yelling "Ho! Ho! Ho!" because
He knows I don't believe in Santa Claus
I think my daddy sees me
Peeking from my door
But he pretends he's Santa anyway
Every year he tries to fool me
But I'm a big boy now I don't believe in Santa or his sleigh...
No way!
So I went back to bed and I curled up nice and tight
I stared out my window and looked into the night
And then, all of a sudden, through my window I could see
Santa Claus was flying by and smiling at me
[Chorus:]
Santa Claus, Santa Claus
It must've been ol' Santa Claus
Santa Claus, Santa Claus
Happy "Ho! Ho! Ho!" to you
Then I heard ol' Rudolph tellin' me to come outside
He told me that ol' Santa wanted me to take a ride
I climbed out of my window and I jumped onto his sleigh
Then ol' Santa took me up up and away
We flew high above the rooftops of my sleepy town below
I saw my big red school house and the town square picture show
It was really past my bedtime and so ol' Santa said
"Little boys like you should be in bed"
So I hollered "Ho! Ho! Ho!"
And I put on Santa's hat
Then he let me hold the reins awhile
We pulled up to my window
And I jumped back in my room
And I waved goodbye to Santa with a smile
When I woke up Christmas morning it was clear and bright
My parents said my window had blown open in the night
I smiled as I told them that it must've been the cat
And they asked me where I got my big red hat
[Chorus]
