Just purchased this amp a few months ago, it's wonderful my first foray into tubes, also purchased the Graham Chartwell ls6, these speakers are just magical paired with the relt7i sub, the depth of Soundstage from these speakers is mind-boggling!
I own the V80SE with the Super Black Box, which makes a significant difference. Imagine how good that amp would sound if you threw those JJ tubes in the trash where they belong and put some NOS 6550 tubes in it.
Hey what speakers do you have paired to your octave v80? I have focal sopra 3 and was wondering if you think a v40se with black box should power these speakers fine? I know these speakers could always use more watts but seen a used one with black box online for reasonable price. Any help would be great thanks. Currently use a musical fidelity m8 encore 500. Just think I want tubes back into the system. Thanks
Congratulations on the presentation, I wanted to ask you if you know the Rouge Audio Cronus Magnum III amplifier, and if you can compare it to the Octave V 40 Se. I mainly listen to jazz music, I like the detailed and wide sound, that doesn’t bother me, and that keeps its richness even at low volumes. My cult object is vinyl. I have a system with a rega brior-r amplifier that drives the RX6 Silver Audio Monitors ( room 4x4 meters): I plan to do an upgrade starting from the amplifier. What do you recommend? Grazie Gianluca

You do not mention the Audio Physic speakers much in the review. You say its a good pairing. Can you elaborate more?
