Glad I decided to skip it. After all these years with my 8th gen iPad, I used about half of the 128Gb drive, so I decided to stick with the 256Gb 13" with keyboard pencil pro

That might be a struggle but maybe the m4 ultra will be better for a calculator loo

There is no calculator app in iPadOS. Maybe they will give it to us now that we have specs that can support it 😅😂

I actually upgrading my iPad Pro 2nd gen 11inch to iPad Pro 13inch 256gb with Apple Pencil pro. I cannot wait to test it out!! My previous has been incredible over the years but i love lighter devices. I will pair with new Magic Keyboard as well. Great unboxing!!

Cool! Picked mine up a day early from Best Buy. Said it was ready for pickup to my surprise. It definitely feels light and that screen is BRIGHT

Nice unboxing. I like new the display on the new M4 iPad Pro. But it looks like in some countries such as The United Kingdom, Apple is now adding the no charger trend to the iPads. It already started with the iPhones in 2020 and now this year, it’s being added to the iPads in some countries.
I got it to replace having the previous iPad Air AND MacBook Air. Instead of the Magic Keyboard though, I got the folio and a wireless keyboard bc that allows me to take notes with the magic pencil which I do the majority of the time
I priced it out and a better mouse, Bluetooth keyboard, and folio cover was cheaper than the Magic Keyboard. - only be for an at home set up

I brought iPad Pro M1 2 years ago. It’s great for media consumption and using procreate. But as soon as you start doing other stuff I think $200 Android Phone or a cheap PC can do more work than my M1 iPad Pro. Like even in browsing the internet , Safari doesn’t provide as many features as Chrome on a PC or even on an Android Phone.
Thank you for guidance on colors and the screen. I really appreciate it while trying to get an order in the day before release day. I was leaning silver and standard glass since the upcharge for 1GB isn't worth it for me and the deeper black and color pop is better anyway. While I wouldn't mind an Air I was something to lap and use for my AV library controls with touch. No laptop since I jump over to a mini for computer work. Sub'd. Mahalo!

The technology apple use for their ipads is enough for regular people at least for youtube and netflix marathon as well as some binge gaming

I want to know what the difference in performance (if any) there is between the 256/512gb model with the 9core cpu and 8gb ram va the 1/2tb model with 10core cpu and 16gb ram. Not benchmark numbers but real world use numbers.
I think you need to add some context to this comment. What are you going to use it for? I've had both the M1 and M2 iPad. Never have I said to myself, boy is this thing a slug. If you're a mere mortal like me get the 8 GB. if you're going to do the fancy 4 camera video editing with multiple effects in 8K, get the 16. Pretty simple. I would wager, both would work fine. Apple knows how to separate us from our money, they are really good at it!

Unpopular opinion: the iPad Pro is a solid computer replacement now. These creators just don’t want to admit it. Like what more do yall want this thing to do? It has Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for crying out loud 😂😂
What is your use case? Replace your primary pc with an ipad and share your experience if you are so confident. The limitations of ipad os when compared to macos is humongous. Not sure if you have experienced both the devices or not or just saying stuff, app scenario is also fairly limiting between the 2 os.
@@thesaralkumarI’ve used an older 2018 iPad Pro for school, content creation and gaming and it worked just fine. Again not sure what else you guys want the iPad to do at this point. If you know the use case then it’s a solid MacBook replacement. It does way more now and really well.
I’m a writer - I use Scrivener, Final Draft, and do a bit of video and photo editing. I take a bunch of notes with the iPad Pro and Pencil. So I should be a fairly easy test case. And, it’s true. The iPad Pro works for me 95% of the time. Which is great, for traveling, working on the go and whatnot. But 95% is not a laptop/desktop replacement, because that 5% still needs to get done.
My big issues remain: multi-tasking is *still* suboptimal. It maybe that full extended monitor support will help with this - I intend to try that out. And some key third party apps remain underpowered. Final Draft being a prime example. Now, that’s not Apple’s ‘fault,’ but it is holding the iPad back.
Plus, it’s so darn expensive. And I do object to the fact that I need to upgrade to 1TB to get that 16GB of RAM and additional GPU core. Which, really, is Apple cheaping out again.
@@justinsbennett it is not about you know the use case it is about suiting the use case, so if it is matching or sufficing your use case doesn’t mean it will do for everybody. You don’t know what other things the creators and most people do on their laptops, hence ipad might not be sufficient for them. It worked for you great, but your use case is extremely limited. With the hardware capabilities it can do much more but is limited by the software, hopefully that changes in the upcoming wwdc
@@Andy-rc9db proves a major point. I completely understand this scenario, I am a product designer and web dev, iPad is a good accompaniment for me not a replacement, coz it falls short in reaching that last mile.
I definitely need the M4 Power for all Netflix, Amazon, Max and Hulu subscription 😂. Joke a aside You can get a lot done in the iPad pro but unfortunately most users will never push it to its peak.

I find it disappoint at this price point that the space black color variant doesn’t have the same anodization chemical process to resist fingerprints as the MBP Space black. 😒

The Mini is great. I had one for the longest time. But they’re not really comparable devices. For me, the mini is closer to the ‘phone’ product category. The screen size does preclude any pretense at ‘serious work’ for many use cases. Not all, but many.

The enhanced performance of the M4 is just wasted on an iPad form factor. Older generation iPads still perform well.
Comfortably watching on my M1 iPad Pro, new prices makes my gut twist & turn.
Now i can easily edit videos in 4K or even 8K for my YT channel .....that too on hand-held device ............ Generations ahead ..... Android u outta do a lot of work

on the mini led models this was, for some reason a thing.
it made it look like the screen wasn't laminated.

Honestly, the only reason I didn't go with Space Black is because my 16" MB Pro is that same color.

I'm really hating myself right now. I know my M2 11 is just fine and does everything I need. But I'm such an Apple sheep that they had me at Tandem OLED display. I'm struggling with myself right now, but I know at the end of the day my lizard brain is going to win and I will trade the M2 for the M4. I really need to find a support group!

Is the term “Pro” marketing or is it the intended use? For those who would pay upwards over $3,000 for a Pro, some would also have internet service beyond 1Gbps. I would think someone with 5 or even 10Gbps service is asking themselves…and Apple, “Where’s WiFi7?”

Haven got an iPad since like iPad 2 😂 it's just a phone os 😂 I'll just upgrade my MacBook pro 🙃 or wait for Samsung tab 10 since those run PC desktop like os with dex like on my Samsung phone.. hard to go back to base ios when I have a freedom of android and a computer 😂
I don't understand why Apple can't figure out how to outdo everyone else and make the iPad the de-facto laptop/Personal computer. If we are going to the edge there could be unlimited migration. They could extend their hardware prowess while working on their AI ambitions.

The sad thing is that there is such a simple move Apple can make and turn this into a real laptop alternative, and they won’t.
I’m talking about giving us a better files app and importing more desktop apps from MacOs to iPad Pro.
Really what is the excuse? The macOS apps now run natively on apple silicon MacBooks.
If the developers refuse to port their applications to iOS, maybe apple can stop charging them ridiculous amounts of money per download and make their system more accessible? Or we can wait for windows on arm with the new Qualcomm processors and skip this iPad release entirely

They didnt do that on purpose, they moved the front camera and Face ID to the landscape side which means they had to rework the magnets so the old apple pencils don’t work anymore unfortunately.

A student of what? Very few users will benefit from 16GB over 8GB. I imagine it will be useful for video editors and graphic artists working with mad numbers of layers.
But keep in mind that very few buyers will be opting for 1TB at those kind of prices - and so Apple need to make it work at 8GB.
Generally, students should go for the entry model… or, better still, the 13” Air.
