Honestly, this kinda pisses me off. They've been cock teasing us with the autobot tapes for ages, and now they release this as an exclusive that might even be a better deco. It's a dick move imo. Just release them properly dammit.

I think it's cool that they made it the size of a regular cassette.
That is the biggest reason I want this.
And ofc they are the biggest cassette bots out rn so they more posable, easier to grasp, and more room for show accuracy in terms of tiny details.
Definitely seems like a significant oversight to make no effort to have any tape deco whatsoever - seems like at least one side should look like a tape... For the price on this thing, we shouldn't have to spend another $15 on a ToyHax kit.

I'm excited that we are finally seeing the autobot tapes. Looks like a pretty involved transformation. I think what OC Max said was the exclusive part is the chrome on the wings as the Mass release will be a flat matte gold color. I wonder if there will be chipping on it? I hope not. I think it looks pretty good. I do wish there was some Tape detail if not just the reel window in the middle with some time lenght markers. Should have come with a spudger that looked like a pencil...lol. Good review. I am looking foward to getting the entire crew. Good review. Occular Max makes some stellar figures.

In the past, MMC collaborated with Toyhax for a number of their cassettes to have Toyhax provide the official sticker sheet for the figures. I'm hoping they do the same here as well. Also, did you not get the liner sheet? There was supposed to be one included with this release.
I'm glad it's finally out and I do look forward to getting it, but I detest this exclusive version nonsense. This is the one I wanted, and I was checking PSX pretty much every day, hoping they _might_ have some convention leftovers, but by the time I saw it, it had already sold out.
Look, it's not the end of the world, I get it - I'll be happy enough with the regular version, and I won't have to worry about chrome chipping, but it's still quite disappointing.
MMC is one of the worst companies when it comes to exclusives, with just a ton of them, and always for North America, with a relatively short window (if that) to get them on PSX afterwards (unless it's something really unpopular, granted, but this obviously isn't that).
Yeah I tottaly agree that its just shit having to keep checking the Facebook and stores for this crap, yet I still do it but its a joke.
I would LOVE to see Ocular Max do the tape combiners, SlamDance and SquarkBox as these type of real-size tapes. Just imaging the engineering involved, it would be AWESOME!

I managed to snag a copy from PSX so I'm happy to get the vac-metal gold chrome. Definitely hoping they release all four for Christmas.
I don't believe they've even shown a (working) prototype of Ramhorn yet, so it's unlikely. Possibly the other two, but their production schedule looks like Eject and Rewind won't be until sometime next year either. A shame.
Thankfully it turns into a cassette and not a usb memory stick.....im sure Touhax will bring out a set of labels for it.

Yes its about time we have a nice transformation like the Soundwave cassettes, keep them coming, also we need more different tapes like the decepticons, sound wave have 21 blaster only have four, hope someone is listening
The lack of tape deco is a big deal for me. Not so sure I'm gonna buy this now. I don't have time to deco it myself and don't want to purchase something I think will be a let down.
To Be honest u kinda pissed me off right at the begging. I think ur seriously under estimating the work that goes into making a robot like this. U gotta make it the exact size & shape of the other Cassettes that exist that's problem 1. Its gotta look lie 2 different things problem 2 and its all gotta fold flat. I mean u try doing this.

I think this is great. I'm happy to have a modern take of Steel Jaw available. I see some people missing the tape deco. Let's be honest I can't imagine anyone is buying this for tape mode. I enjoy the more toon look. I could be wrong but I don't remember and tape deco showing in bot mode on the show. I will say to each his own though. Can't wait to add this to my collection.
