It would be good to see a video like this about nicotine. Not specifically cigarets but cigars and nicotine pouches. Both becoming very popular. There is so much conflicting information about both.
@@picturemaker Those non-tobacco nicotine pouches being referenced on damn near every podcast without noting “paid advertisement” doesn’t seem like a coincidence with their popularity... ZYN pouches specifically, but I haven’t seen any concrete evidence showing the popularity is caused by this apparent product placement, nor that they actually are paid ads. I guess it’s just as possible that those podcasts got into the pouches _because_ of their rise in popularity, but something doesn’t feel right & the amount of misinformation (on the risks, etc) is definitely there at a high level
In Poland energy drinks became 18+ with the beginning of this year actually. It’s funny when buying one energy drink at self serve register and having to wait for a staff haha
I think that's actually reasonable. Good for Poland. On the other hand I'm not in favor of gouvernment regulation into individual people's day to day life. It'd be better if energy drinks just are not to be advertised to young drinkers... make the companies / producers take responsibility.
Polish guy here, they made energy drinks that have more than 15 mg of caffeine per 100 ml 18+, everything below that has no restrictions. Many Polish energy drink companies made versions with 14 mg/100 ml to bypass it, though they aren't as popular and many teenagers still manage to buy the normal ones sometimes.
UK did this it’s so dumb, you can buy 40Litres of coke if you wanted too. Even 3 diet cokes is worse than 1 red bull !!!! but i think they should either limit them all or none
I’m a coffee drinker and for a few years I started to get into energy drinks really heavily. As of a few months ago I started lowering my consumption because I kept feeling so exhausted all the time and unable to sleep very well (a problem I’ve always kind of had). Nowadays I usually have my one cup of coffee in the morning, or none at all if it’s after noon, and immediately I feel like my sleep is more restful and I have slowly been having a stronger surge of energy throughout the entire day instead of until early afternoon. It’s been legitimately life changing in such a short time. I don’t think I’ll ever give up coffee entirely, I like the flavour a lot, but I’m glad I’m sticking to reducing my consumption of caffeine entirely as I get to being healthier
Try valerian capsules or tincture , if you can handle the taste of the liquid . There's also a herbal combination , by the title of HVS - which is Hops , Skullcap , Valerian . All known sporoifics = relaxants to enable sleep without side effects .
You don't have to abandon caffeine entirely; just take it in moderation. 1-2 cups in the morning should be enough. Like with anything, too much can be a bad thing, but limiting your intake to a reasonable amount is fine.
Both Coca-Cola and Pepsi sell no-caffeine versions now. They taste identical and I'd recommend anyone who is able to, buys these instead. If I want caffeine I have coffee.
This. Dude I drink coke zero all day. Literally all day. At least 5. Then 1 or 2 sprite zeros before bed. I got problems Edit, feel the need to mention. I drink the sprite because no caffeine and I find it easier to sleep. However, sleep is getting worse as I get older and I need to solve this. So, I just need to find a bunch of coke zero caffeine free and coke zero caffeine free. Does ANYONE know where they're plentiful?
@@Pr0toPoTaT0 Might want to do your research into aspartame. The thing non caffeinated drinks use as a sweetener, which health services have been warning us about for YEARS. Carcinogen
@@Pr0toPoTaT0 Coke zero is a good choice when on ocasion for example going out with your friends and family you would rather choose zero instead of the original one, but if you drink it daily can be as bad, you will not get fat because there is no sugar but the other effects will still remain, for example your teeth because of the phosphoric acid.
3:10 The beer taste part was not entirety correct. Beer was also cleaner than water because of the alcohol. No harmful bacteria in beer, hence better chance of survival. Edit: Before more people write another answer to correct me: yes, heating the water has actually solved the issue.
@@azminek7154 Yuusou is right, Azmiinek. You're just blowing it out your ass. Total nonsense. If a yeast powerful enough to produce alcohol and CO2, it's powerful enough to kill off fat, lazy, weak-skinned bacteria.
A bigger contributor is actually the boiling that goes into brewing it. Before germ theory, people didn’t know that all you needed to do to disinfect water was boil it
I quite like the measured response you gave here - that caffiene itself isn't nearly as dangerous as the things that companies package with it or use it within, like sugar. I'm a coffee a day guy but used to have 1 or 2 energy drinks a day and although I thought I felt fine when I was doing that, now that I've stopped it's clear that they really mask some of the things your body tries to tell you - I'm less tired now and wake up feeling more refreshed. There is something to be said for the health benefits of caffiene but those are typically in regards to the caffiene itself, and are usually outweighed by the unhealthy shit that companies put with it in other drinks. But yeah great video as always gang!!
Kinda like nicotine.... Cigarettes are SO bad because of the 2,000 OTHER chemicals and tar.... But put it in gum or a vape and it's 95% safer than cigarettes. Most people don't wanna admit this.... And I'm not saying nic is safe, it's still risky, but it's not as deadly as it is in cigarettes!
Sugar is not necessarily bad. It’s like a race fuel for a racing car. You wouldn’t use it daily cause you’re not racing. The way your body deals with simple carbohydrates when you’re practicing physical activity, especially intense activity, is not the same.
I am just coming out of a coffee addiction and would like to comment on this. Caffeine can be good for you, in small amounts and especially not regularly! I drank energys for years, not because I liked them but because they made me happy, they gave me the drive I needed in my everyday life. But i always had to increase this to be happy until my body couldn't take it anymore. i passed out 3 times, had extreme mood swings, outbreaks of sweating, concentration problems and sleepless nights. this is not ideal in a working environment. I went cold turkey for 2 months and I'm fine. Sometimes in "bad" times the urge for energy is still there, but I resist it. I think it's a very good video, keep up the good work. (Sorry for my bad english)
It took me multiple months to slowly reduce the amount of caffeine I drink everyday, after consuming it daily for years. After 3 months of slowly going lower and lower using green and black tea, I finally managed to cut it out. Now I'm so sensitive to I again that a glass of coke is enough to get me through a night. I regret nothing and I honestly can't even say that I'm any less productive, just less stressed.
@@muysli.y1855 fair point, mostly did it cause I was fed up with being dependent on it. I hate coffee and it's usually a lot more difficult to come buy tea. So the only alternative when I was traveling was usually energy drinks, which are super unhealthy. So I just stopped all together to get rid of yet another thing I needed to worry about it
I'm an occasional coffee drinker maybe like once a week. I never feel like it has an affect on me i usually drink later at night with a pastry for a dessert and I go to sleep just the same. Maybe that's why I don't use it everyday since I don't feel any effect.
I love coffee but i started having long-term fatigue issues as well. Now i don't drink coffee any later than 2pm so that most of my sleep is unaffected by it at night. It made a massive difference as i felt relaxed and comfortable going into a deep healthy sleep each night knowing i could still enjoy my coffee boost in the morning. Caffeine is fine in moderation as long as you know when it's okay to have it, similar to alcohol. Oh and i only ever have an energy drink if i'm on a long journey and need to stay alert for safety
This video is very well timed for me. I had been debating quitting coffee, and I know its gonna suck bc my withdrawals are terrible (the reason why I'm quitting). I honestly drink coffee for fun and for the flavour, but it's just not worth it anymore. I hope I can sleep better without it.
The great thing about Caffeine is that the withdrawal effect is shorter compared to other drugs. Depending on how much you have taken in, the withdrawal effect will last generally from 2 to 9 days. But what really matters is what you do for your own health.
I largely quit caffeine after my anxiety disorder got suddenly worse drinking decaf coffee helped bridge the gap for me and the withdrawal was very manageable. I believe most decaf still has a small percentage of caffeine left so I'd recommend trying that it's esp good if coffee is like a morning ritual, just decaffeinate it
11:19 The logo you showed of the ABA is the one of the American Bar Association (the bar as the one the lawyers have to pass to practice law), and not the American Beverage Association.
@@Voodoo288 the people behind fern are very trustworthy. They are Germans and they once were state sponsored. Their German channel is called Simplicissimus. It’s not a real word. Mistakes happen.
I've been caffeine free for 1 month. I have to say I get happier easily, and things used to stress me out isn't that stressful anymore, although the withdrawal stage is really annoying, especially the random anxiety but it easily avoidable if you go fix what causing your anxiety which majority of the population isn't capable of
Withdrawals are easily preventable. Lifebro tip: I never have withdrawals; because I carry sachets of Blend 43 with me 24/7/365. If I don't have a cup, I pour the sachet straight into my mouth and it down with water.
I actually have even better ideas than this channel, and I've also thought up many of these ideas before this channel even made those same ideas into videos. Would you watch any documentary I made? I haven't made any videos yet, but I could you know? So why don't you consider watching them when I someday maybe make them? You jerk.
I've been weaning off of caffeine and swapping to decaf has made a huge difference. I still get to drink coffee or tea when I crave it, but I don't have nearly as many of the problems any more. I have one cup of normal coffee when I get up, and will be cutting it slowly with decaf over time to avoid the worst of withdrawals.
I am in the same boat, coffee or tea in the morning and a cup for the drive home from work. I recently stopped the drive home drink, and substituted with herbal tea. The stat about caffeine still being in the system by 2AM really opened my eyes to this and confirmed it’s a good choice to eliminate afternoon caffeine
hey, i had exactly the same problem. try to reduce it or go cold turkey. face your bad feelings, they will become good ones over time. if you like, keep updating us. Good luck on your journey.
Water part is definitely incorrect! It was because beer was better for you than water. Water back then was contaminated, and beer was cleaner. They didn't realize that just boiling the water made it clean. Beer went through the boiling process thats why it was healthier.
@@daemoncluster google is free. Beer was not mainly drunk as a replacement for water that’s a complete it had some substance to it but for the most part it’s a myth. Alcohol is dehydrating. I wish there was more info on caffeine on RUclips but this is really the best summary I've seen. Recently went 1.5 years with no caffeine after being a really heavy user of it and the benefits are easy to see. If you can do it in moderation (only a few days a week) it's great. But even one cup a day everyday will mean you get withdrawal effects when you eventually go without it for a day
I've always thought of starting to drink coffee because everyone else in our office does. However, the more I think about it I think I'd be better off by just continuing to drink tea which I can recommend a lot.
Hopefully you are aware tea also contains caffeine(More in black tea, less in green) :) like everything in life - everything should be in moderation, also tea
Man, a mug of Earl Grey contains 40 mg of caffeine. Green Tea has 16 mg of caffeine. So, you recommend caffeine, because you are an addict like all of us. 😄
I'm convicned most people aren't addicted to coffe. Just the routine, it's something to hold, part of a daily routine on the way to work/school/social outings etc. I say that as someone who used to spend £150-£250 a month on coffee/snacks at such shops during my daily routine at university. Yet when home for holidays 1 cup of tea was enough or 0 when travelling abroad for long periods.
I usually drink only two cups of coffee a day, sometimes only one. Some time ago i decided not to drink it for a few days and I actually experienced mild withdrawal symptoms. That made me realise how addictive and powerful this drug really is.
i’ve had a caffeine problem since i was about 15, which turned from coffees in the mornings to red bulls late at night which i used to work and study. i’ve always had sleep problems (by 13-14 yo i was taking upwards of 40 mg of melatonin a night in order to sleep, and due to high-functioning anxiety my REM is poor), and the caffeine i needed in order to combat fatigue and study only makes it worse. i’m 28 now and have been trying to cut back before i head to uni this next semester because i’m afraid for my heart health. i’ve started to have mild palpitations when im excessively stressed and more issues than usual doing cardio and working out. its important to watch your health, especially when you’re young, and feeling the side effects of my overconsumption when i should be perfectly healthy is really opening my eyes. i’ll keep my coffees for now but im cutting back the energy drinks as much as possible.
One thing both my parents told me when I started drinking coffee is that I’m borrowing energy from the next day. That 12:20 really is a good way of showing it. I type with my coffee next to me 👀 one thing I notice with coffee, when I stop drinking it particularly, is the polyphenols that the gut bacteria eat are subtly not producing what ever nutrients they normally do and I feel better when they are. Like when having switched to tea or energy drinks in the past and switching back to coffee it was like taking a mood stabilizer as well as a stimulant 🤷 what ever those polyphenol eating gut bacteria are producing is subtle but very nice. Your guts like eating strongly colored foods, I think coffee being black is ironically the best 😂
also the half life hes talking about is pure bs.. he dosent understand what half life means. you RARELY or never actually feel any effects past the half life of a drug.
seeing a lot of people who were addicted to caffeine quiting. its great to see this, a lot of positivity and people overcoming stuff. wasn't expecting, that's awsome
Hey Fern, I am a giant fan of your channel. I just wanted to point out something I noticed. The ABA logo you used is actually the one for the American Bar Association, not the American Beverage Association. As a lawyer, I had to nitpick. Keep up the great work!
This video makes me want to make a coffee so bad ! 😅 I have quit caffeine for a month recently which in return, when I drank a cup of coffee i had a massive euphoric reaction ❤
This is also one thing I think overconsumption takes away, the joy of actually consuming something appropriately. As I say, what fun is cake if there's cake everyday?
I used to be a daily coffee drinker up until the past month. My energy levels are now more consistent throughout the day thanks to me no longer being dependent on caffeine.
This was a great video! I’ve got a habit of drinking one to a few cups coffee as a wake up “ritual” in the morning at the start of work on weekdays, or days when I know I’d be busy or haven’t gotten enough sleep. And I get milk tea now and then since it’s a nice treat. *But* I’m always keeping the risks of caffeine in my mind because I know too much could really hurt something in my gut if not careful. And of course, I don’t indulge in any caffeine way too close to bedtime. (And I also don’t touch any energy drinks; not my thing personally and they just seem like too extreme of a caffeine shot.)
Coffee doesn’t give you magic energy it just takes energy you already have and gives it to you immediately but then when you need that energy later you don’t have it, so you need to drink coffee again and again.
I find your video very well made all was really good researched and looked into. 2 things I still want to add as critique: 1. When you put your own opinion inside which is perfectly fine but you should flag it better on the side. The grey box was basically unnoticable to me. Bright or contrasting colours work very good here. 2. This is actually not real critique maybe but a sidenote. You did include the health risks for dangerous teenage caffeine consumption but the actual health risks for adults when they drink over the dose of those for cups or two cans were not mentioned or forgotten if I recall this right. I would've actually really liked to see them mentioned there and was curious about that topic. But like I said. Very good video and I am going to harshly tighten my caffeine consumption and try to be more wary of the effects. Thank you
This was a thoroughly researched and informative video. It certainly makes you reconsider the role caffeine plays in our daily lives, beyond just the morning kick. The amount of caffeine intake suggested for adults versus kids, followed by the fact that caffeine withdrawal is recognized as a mental disorder, are real eye-openers.
3:41 "Some historians even claimed that the Age of Enlightenment and industrialization would not have been possible without coffee." Yeah, and civilization would not have been possible without beer in the first place LOL
Having watched both my parents consume caffeinated beverages daily growing up, and being aware of both the benefits and dangers of caffeine (and added sugar), my relationship with caffeine is a careful one. I never had a full caffeinated beverage until I hit adulthood, and the first time I tried an energy drink I asked around for advice on how to do so safely. A bit overly cautious, perhaps, but I'm glad I did. Caffeine affects everyone differently, as you said, and everyone has their own limits. I've found I can only consume up to 200 mg before energy drinks teeter into anxiety juice territory and my heart starts doing some funky things it probably really shouldn't. However, at 200 mg or below it can be a help, used responsibly. I'm neurodivergent (primarily ADHD-C), which also is a totally different thing for everyone, and for me caffeine sometimes assists me with my more-lacking-than-average concentration abilities. That said, I look for energy drinks with very low sugar contents or natural sweeteners, or just outright opt for a cup or two of black tea with a little honey. And when I do consume energy drinks, I try to give myself at least a day's worth of a break before having another one, if not going multiple days without an energy drink to avoid developing severe withdrawal symptoms. Sometimes I'll even split an energy drink with a friend for a slightly lower caffeine intake. And no caffeine for me at all after five in the afternoon. Heck, I try to avoid caffeine anytime in the afternoon if I can. Thank you Fern for another delightful and well-put-together presentation. And to all of you out there facing your own journeys with caffeine, be it consumption or dropping it altogether, I wish you the best of luck and good health.
Great video! I started intermittent fasting in 2023 and about half a year in, I somehow magically don’t feel the need to drink coffee in the morning, and have since stopped drinking coffee completely. I do still drink Diet Coke from time to time, but the overall caffeine consumption is much less now.
I was addicted to caffeine (mostly in forms of daily cups of coffee / espresso) from the ages of 18-21 during university. I still love the taste and aroma of coffee, but was luckily able to ease off of it and feel a lot better overall in daily life.
That was well put together. Thank you so much for the hard work and effort. I am watching a lot of coffee related documentaries. As I plan to get off the sauce eventually.
Excellent video. I always shake my head at the caffeine and nicotine dependent people.. they put themselves into their own stupid vicious cycle. I have no bad habits, regularly exercise, mainly drink water, all sorts of healthy teas, or protein powder, no junk food at all, cook for myself that always includes good carbs, protein, veggies, treat my sleep like a ritual, and I'm never tired and always full of energy, barely get sick, never headaches etc. Love life and excited about it. I have one friend that is pretty much likeminded. It's so rare to find people like this, and when people notice how I do things they think I am "not normal" because majority/average people aren't like this.. but that's fine. You do you
personally I don't like coffee nor energy drink, I never feel well when i have either and suspect I'm very sensitive to it. I guess Ill take it as a blessing. On the occasion ill have one like at work when Im working late nights someone will suggest "have a red-bull" "have a coffee" so normalised.
Such an interesting video. I can give you my experience with energy drinks. (I'm 18 now). I used to drink a lot of energy drinks when I was 14-16 years old. I drank roughly 2 cans a day, sometimes even more. I couldn't get ANY quality sleep and It was SO BAD FOR ME. Almost everymorning I woke up with a feeling that a truck would have drovwn over me. I was so anxious. I was so nervous. Now. I've quit them mostly. My life is going really great. I don't actually need them. I still drink 2 cans a WEEK but that's okay for me.
2 cans a week is fine , a bit of caffeine might be good for you as long as it's not bothering or getting in the way of other stuff in your life like sleep (and like you said, its not)
Idk what's up with me but you mention increased heart rate as an effect of caffeine... but for me my heart rate actually noticeably drops after I've had coffee.
I don't drink coffee regularly, so when I need an extra boost, for example before a long drive at night, I know that a small cup will wake me up considerably. At times when I've drinking coffee more often I can certainly feel the urge to have one if I smell a cup passing by, so it is definitely addictive for me. If I stop drinking coffee for a few days the urge dissapears. I also like to use it as a kind of recreative drug, when going out with friends or something like that, because I feel that it improves my mood.
I just want to point out that everything in high doses is BAD for you like litterally anything. I'm tired o f hearing I can't consume caffeine, glutten, sugar, salt, meat, oil... Hell I've had people tell me I shouldn't drink milk or eat rice, pasta or bread. People have become so sensitive to anything and everything, just control your dosage and be responsible.
I am very caffeine insensitive, but my caffeine intake is limited to a cup of made at home with nothing else in it coffee in the morning. I enjoy the flavor. Periodically I try different decafs since the caffeine doesn't do anything for me anyway. Unfortunately the decaffeination preocess change the flavor too much. EA process decafs are getting pretty close though, so I feel I'm about to be pretty much caffeine free.
I’ve been a coffee drinker for nearly all my adult life and have generally never noticed any side effects - except with one kind of coffee. Most of the time I can easily fall asleep under the right conditions even after consuming a cup of coffee. Often I’ll start to fall into a nap after eating lunch and having a cup of coffee. The warmth of the drink overcomes the caffeine, and eases me into a cozy sleep. But whenever I have a Keurig cup of coffee (8 oz store brand medium roast) my skin flushes, I begin to sweat and itch, and my heart races. Why? What is it about Keurig coffee pods (store brand no less) that creates such a strong reaction in me? I normally drink drip Gevalia medium roast. I add 2 Tbs per 6 cups of water and have a mug or two at a time - daily - with no reaction. Often falling asleep, like I mentioned. But the moment I have a Keurig cup at my parents house (multiple times a week) I have a very strong reaction. It’s not like I don’t have a tolerance. And it’s not like this is a new thing. I’ve been doing this for years. So what is causing this kind of reaction from Keurig?
I now very rarely consume caffeine. The only caffeine that I've had in the past six months or so has been one Kit Kat bar (in its chocolate). And it's been great. I can focus so much better on work and on other aspects of my life. I make much fewer mistakes. I have deeper sleep. When I'm tired, I actually do fall asleep. I no longer get irritated at others or at general life events. I'm calmer.
My dad started me on coffee before I could remember, if I had to estimate about 6-8 years old. He'd put creamer in it since I didn't like the taste. (I think his parents raised him on it early so he insisted on the same for me.) I still drink it all these years later, turning 22 in April. Now I drink mine black and he's a big fan of creamer.
Had wise parents , who refused to allow me to drink coke - no pepsi etc then , but coffee & tea were about , and those were sugared up initialy , with a gradual cut back on sugar & tea , but an increse recently in coffee , smelall teaspoons of instant , 1 only per mug , with cream or a half - half blend of dairy . No other caffine is consumed , and i also watch pharmacutical prescriptions side effects - sme of which are very caffine like , which i dont like , having tried no doze , once , never again .
I drink like 3 liters of water a day and 1 energy drink and 1 coffee a day for years and I’m totally fine. I think drinking too much sugar is way worse. Drinking 1 liter of coke (100g sugar) is worse than 1 energy drink(40g sugar) regardless of the caffeine
10:33 I learned this the hard way over a year ago. I used to drink at least one energy drink a day (bang, reign, Mtn Dew energy, etc.), To keep up with both work and school. But one day at work, I did a Reign & ghost and I couldn't feel my heart. I had to go to the HR & to this day I still feel the effects with my heart & body. Since then I swore off energy drinks and only really drink coke/pepsi/Dr Pepper once or twice a week.
Check if u had small heart attactk. Srs. Anyway I have similar experience. I was drinking monster daily until one day something happened in my heart, strange feeling, that was last day I ever consumed energy drink.
When I was in middle school, with obvious symptoms of ADHD, my family acknowledged that yeah, I probably had it, but they didn't want me tested because they didn't want me addicted to any medication, so they had me start drinking a Mtn Dew before school every morning. They didn't want me addicted to adderall, so they just gave me a caffeine addiction instead, I guess. Went from Mtn Dew in middle school to coffee and energy drinks in high school and college, despite the fact that caffeine heightened my anxiety by a lot. It didn't even really help that much with my ADHD symptoms, iirc (and it took until literally last month, at 25, to finally be diagnosed) ...And then in my early 20s I had to stop drinking energy drinks because they were making my chest hurt so bad I thought I was going to have a heart attack, and then later cut down on caffeine in general because I was still having chest pain and a ridiculously high pulse (I was previously put on medication for that, but apparently, it was the caffeine- my pulse is usually totally fine now, but I still have occasional chest pain) and now I limit my caffeine consumption even more due to other health concerns. It won't kill me or anything, but too much caffeine will most likely just exacerbate the chest pain and pain related to another condition I have. I'll have like, one Dr Pepper a week, because it's my favorite soda, maybe a tea after work at around the same rate, and that's basically it. But it's honestly crazy how you realize just how much the world runs on caffeine when you have to limit your consumption of it. It really is absolutely fucking everywhere, huh?
I just don't get why so many people drink so much sugar. A good coffee is very delicious with just milk and I really don't like how most energydrinks taste at all. For when you are thirsty water is just the best. One or two cups of coffee a day is no problem if you don't drink them to late.
Back when I was in High School (early 2000s) they had a whole vending machine with 'Water Joe' caffeinated water. I drank that so often! We also had Monster and RedBull and a massive amount of candy and chocolate at the school store. Crazy...
I went through a phase where I drank a cup of Earl Grey tea every morning, then one day I felt like I needed that cup to survive, so I decided to stop with the morning tea my next day off work, I basically just watched TV that whole day only drinking orange juice and water, having a few beers after dinner, the next day I woke up feeling fine. Every once in a while I'll drink a cup of green tea but that's about it as far as caffeine for me, I still like beer and I feel I get better sleep and wake up with more energy if I have a few drinks before bed (but not too many lol) than if I don't have any drinks at all.
Switching to decaf coffee was the best move I ever made, still get a little tiny dose of caffeine from it in the morning but nowhere near the crash later in the day and if I have another cup in the afternoon it doesn't effect my sleep at all. Prob the best sleep I have gotten has been the last 3 months off caffeine and I prob only drank around 1/3 what most people I know drink.
You guys should try no caffeine, very little to no social media (as in x, ig, SC, TikTok, and even yt as well), and either meditation, yoga, or small amounts of THC or Psilocybin. I had so much more free time when I put Starbucks trips and social media that it honestly felt like a different world compared to when I would constantly be on my phone. Go hiking. Walking. Exercise. Anything.
I had withdrawal symptoms from caffeine years ago, i couldnt stay awake in the morning even sitting up, fell asleep in front of the computer at work when i decided to quit. I still drink coffee 7 am and 9 am.
The only reason I can get up before 7 is caffeine. I don't like coffee, but it gets me awake enough to get ready for school. Nothing is going to change here on that. But the peddling of energy drinks to kids worries me.
When you're a caffeine addict(and it's incredibly addictive) coffee doesnt give you energy. It takes your natural energy hostage and only gives you some of it in return for using the drug. It's a wicked substance
I used to be very addicted to caffein, if i didn't get my coffee in the morning i was guaranteed to get a headache shortly after lunch. When my wisdom teeth got removed i saw the perfect opportunity to get "clean" because my dentist told me not to consume any and also i was on ibuprofen the whole day anyways. Now i'm not consuming caffein during the week and i also don't feel any need to.
caffeine isn't nearly as bad for you as most of the things people do on a daily basis. i drink a lot of coffee in the morning but i know its much healthier than consistently drinking any kind of soda caffeine or sugar free. i don't know why people think replacing caffeine and sugar which a bunch of different chemicals is healthier.
It is unbelievable what caffeine does with our health. There should be not advertising for products like coke or energy drinks. Children must be protected by banning especially advertising on social media. In addition the government should also ban advertising on public websites in order to avoid consuming caffeine drinks.
I have only taken a few cups of coffee my whole life, mostly because I had bad experience the first time I did. So it's been years since my last one but around last week I thought it might be okay to try a small portion. Boy was I wrong 😂 I became anxious, my heart beat went crazy, wasn't helpful that I had a meeting as well in like 10 mins then. I guess that's gonna be the last of it.
Caffeine addiction really messed me up as a teenager. As I got older I became far more sensitive to it, probably because my consumption decreased. If I drink 1 can if nonster I get major heart palpitations and chest pain. Last time I drank one I genuinely thought I was going to have a heart attack. These days I drink just 1 8 oz cup of regular coffee per day.
"Naturally" medium high caffeinated drinks like coffee or green/black tea should only be consumed by people age 12 and over. Artificial or fortified drinks with more than 120% the amount of caffeine of strong coffee per volume as well as caffeine pills should be strictly 18+ like hard liquor.
People frequently ask me how I can get so much done without drinking caffeine, or doing drugs. Seriously. When I tell them they I hate coffee (and alcohol) they look at me like I told them I own a dragon or something. Then they think it’s a religious thing. Nope. I don’t like the taste or effect, and never had a good enough reason to set those aside. Same reason I never smoked. A friend once asked me if I only did things for which I had a good reason.

Same, I still buy smaller energy drinks but limited to 1/5th of a can. My sleep was being completely ruined before
Try valerian capsules or tincture , if you can handle the taste of the liquid .
Same 1 cup Coffee without milk and sugar feel so refreshing
One cup in the morning is negligible.
I got problems

The great thing about Caffeine is that the withdrawal effect is shorter compared to other drugs.

But what really matters is what you do for your own health.
I wouldn't recommend quitting if the withdraw effect is too great for you

The amounts of caffeine in something like monster is similar to your average cup of coffee
Coffee doesn’t give you magic energy it just takes energy you already have and gives it to you immediately but then when you need that energy later you don’t have it, so you need to drink coffee again and again.
I find your video very well made all was really good researched and looked into.
2 things I still want to add as critique:
1.

Wait until he hears about pre-workout
Do whatever you want to do man. If you want to consume something other people say is unhealthy, then thats ok, consume it.

Caffeine made me nervous so much i was slightly shaking all the time but i was drinking up to 5 coffees a day. Now im back to 0-1 a day
That's overdose level

We all die other faster than others so at least let us all have our own choice how we do it fast or slow
9:10 no, no and no. The most widely used drug is SUGAR.
I'm calmer.
JUST DRANK DOUBLE CUP OF COFFEE INTO 400MG PREWORKOUT CYA

Caffeine, nicotine, alcohol are just a few of things more addicting than LSD and psilocybin. Thanks American corporations!!
It's really not that great for you. But it should be used properly when used. I.E 1.5 to 2 hours after waking up (after a proper nights sleep)
I'm glad to say I don't drink drinks like coffe or energy drinks, so no caffeine!
Great video! Can you talk about alcohol next?
they're german...... idk man
its their culture
It didn't even really help that much with my ADHD symptoms, iirc (and it took until literally last month, at 25, to finally be diagnosed)
...And then in my early 20s I had to stop drinking energy drinks because they were making my chest hurt so bad I thought I was going to have a heart attack, and then later cut down on caffeine in general because I was still having chest pain and a ridiculously high pulse (I was previously put on medication for that, but apparently, it was the caffeine- my pulse is usually totally fine now, but I still have occasional chest pain) and now I limit my caffeine consumption even more due to other health concerns.
I drink 1 cup Coffee without sugar and milk i like that taste
@@muysli.y1855 True, I also sometimes drink pure coffee.
With all the problems with opiate/opiod ,cocaine, benzodiazapine and methametamine abuse caffeine is the least of our problems.
Coke having cocaine🗿 never saw that coming
The only reason I can get up before 7 is caffeine. I don't like coffee, but it gets me awake enough to get ready for school.
Nothing is going to change here on that.
But the peddling of energy drinks to kids worries me.
Go earlier to bed -> wake up earlier?
I know, easier said than done
When you're a caffeine addict(and it's incredibly addictive) coffee doesnt give you energy. It takes your natural energy hostage and only gives you some of it in return for using the drug. It's a wicked substance
you should dry matcha and green tea a good matcha latte without any sugar is the best thing on earth
1 cup Coffee a day its not bad things but no sugar
otherwise try Tee
@@muysli.y1855i drink coffee daily, but i only ever have it without sugar, just milk or black
Found out why that topic and intro felt so familisr. I've seen it already at Simpli last year
Bro the quality of this video is 100/100🔥🔥
lmao
It's like people forgot that we went through a whole period from the 50s to the 90s where the food companies lie to us
It is unbelievable what caffeine does with our health. There should be not advertising for products like coke or energy drinks. Children must be protected by banning especially advertising on social media. In addition the government should also ban advertising on public websites in order to avoid consuming caffeine drinks.
very well made video, loved it.

11:18 you used the logo of the American Bar Association 😂
In short: caffeine is okay... *in moderation.* Don't go downing it like water, and especially not within 6-7 hours of sleep.
😂
The weird thing is they had a day job, and I’m the freelance artist.
