Oooh some very exciting upcoming reads!! I go through the same cycle with Kristin Hannah books, and The Nightingale was the worst for my poor heart, lol. Anyway, I am voting for Spear Cuts Through Water and Assassin's Apprentice!! Happy reading to you both 🥰
@@mercedes_hall Hahah oops, sorry not sorry ;) I have also read The Great Alone, The Winter Garden, The Four Winds and Night Road, all of which I have enjoyed (if you can even use that word for her books lol). Really want to try The Women next!! Happy reading to you :)
I'm currently listening to Jade City. I believe Will may have a signed copy, unless you absconded with it 😉 I want to read Warm Hands too. Looking forward to Sadie's review. Best line from The Godfather: "Leave the gun. Grab the cannoli." I can't help with Sadie's pick - Hobb is awesome but I expect Atalanta will be too. Saltblood cover is gorgeous.
I’m with you on the UK Suneater covers, they are pretty naff compared to the US covers which are great. I’ve read Empire of Silence and really liked it, I hope you enjoy it too. I’m about 80 pages into A Time of Dread….its good to be back in The Banished Lands!!!
The Gates of Athens for Ed and Atalanta for Sadie. Dang it! I read Homecoming physically but would totally have done the audiobook for Claire Foy. Also, “I’ll be there with the tissues” is absolute COUPLE GOALS. As someone who was dumped out of the blue 3 months ago by who I thought was the love of my life, that proved there are still good men out there 😭
Claire Foy is amazing! I’m not sure if she narrates any others but she definitely should. I am so sorry to hear that. I know I’m a very lucky lady and both the brothers are true examples that there are good men out there. Wishing you all the very best. Sadie
Sadie is literally just trying to hurt herself with books this month!! 😂 I feel like voting for Assassin’s Apprentice is cruel with all the books she’s already putting herself through, but it’s my fave series so I’m excited on her thoughts! I’m really curious about Spear Cuts Through Water so I’ll make you guinea pig it for me Ed! 😂
I'd definitely like to hear what you end up thinking of Empire of Silence. It's on my TBR down the road, I'm intrigued by what I've seen discussed about it.
I’ve read a few Kate Morton’s books and she is one of my favorites! I liked The Silent Patient. The Godfather is an awesome read and I loved the movie too!
@@mercedes_hall The Forgotten Garden, The House at Riverton and The Secret Keeper. Her characters and settings are filled with family secrets and hidden bonds, her stories are mesmerizing and unforgettable. Forgotten Garden was the first I read and I fell in love it. I hope you enjoy your read and I look forward to your thoughts!
I've been interested in reading Homecoming, but i haven't yet. I'm curious to hear your thoughts. I loved Jade War. I read that series so quickly. I couldn't put it down. There's some really intense moments. I think the second book is my favorite, but the entire series is great. my votes: The Spear Cuts Through Water and Atalanta because Atalanta might be my favorite character in all of Greek mythology. She's so awesome!
Have you ready any other Kate Morton books? Would love some more recommendations. Thank you for your vote 😊This has made me really excited to read Atalanta!
Finally finished Moby Dick, it was a tough read but a couple of powerful images from this book are now really burned into my brain particularly the ending
Just finished both «Empire of Silence» and «Howling Dark» last month, really enjoyed them: Loads of reference to both Genre and Classical Literature! As for myself, I am just about finished with «The Green Pearl» (Lyonesse Trilogy #2) by Jack Vance ((Pre-)Arthurian Fantasy) and will start on «Ash: A Secret History» by Mary Gentle (Alt-Historical Military Fiction inspired by the Hundred Year War and the Mercenary Wars of the Renaissance) and the first «Sun Eater» Novellas and Short Stories: «The Lesser Devil», «Tales Vol. 1» and «Queen Amid Ashes» (LOVE the New Cover for «QAA»)! Next on my May TBR List is: «The Wise Man’s Fear» by Patrick Rothfuss (Fantasy, sequel to «The Name of the Wind») «Madouc» (Lyonesse Trilogy #3) by Jack Vance ((Pre-)Arthurian Fantasy) On my May MBR/June TBR List, I have: «The City» (City of Victory Trilogy #2) by Adrian Goldsworthy (Historical Military Fiction set during Emperor Trajan’s Campaigns) «The Dragonbone Chair» (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #1) by Tad Williams (Epic Fantasy, a key influence for George R. R. Martin's « A Song of Ice and Fire»)
What a month of reading you have had already! I definitely need to read some more Goldsworthy and Tad Williams. Also, any Arthurian Fantasy and I will be there.... Happy reading! Will
I vote for "The Spear Cuts Through Water" and "Asassin's Apprentice" 🤩
