Darrel did a lot for my home town he brought bulldozers and large generators when the Chief and Council ordered them Thank You Darrel Ward
Wow. Here I am just learning about the death of Darrell Ward, six years after he passed away. Tragic.
Life goes on. Glad to see his son Reno was ready and able to fill his Dad’s big shoes.
No doubt Darrell will be there riding along with his son on the ice roads from time to time, and Reno may sense his presence.
I like how he stood up to the Polaris boss after he took a truck load away from him. He just pushed him away when he tried to challenge him. Like he said, get out of here little man!
The Polaris boss would have gotten his butt kicked.
Darrell was fearless and not afraid of anyone.
I admired that about him and I rooted for him and his company with Lisa Kelly to succeed.
He will be missed but not forgotten. I only watched the show because of Darell and Lisa.

Father and son are one of my favorites in the truck industry. I was so sad when my father passed away in an airplane accident. Mvh Robert netzler sweden.

Just started watching the show this year, decided to see how the companies were doing and found out about his passing on Polar's website of all places. That's brutal, he was my fave by far. RIP, comrade.

I saw this plane accident along the interstate by Rock creek. I was hauling rock from Polson Montana. I heard there was a guy from I R T. Rest in peace Darryl God bless

He was my families best friend no joke. He lived in deer lodge and I remember riding to his house on my dirt bike. R.I.P. to the best!
My dad once told me that God gives us a certain amount of years to get stuff done on this Earth. What we make of our time here is our gift to him. It's good to hear that guys like Darrell shared my dad's philosophy. I hope him and my dad are having a good time in the hereafter.

Loved watching one of the greatest of truckers. Darrel could do any and everything it took to get the job done. Probably my favorite ice road trucker ever along with his company owner Lisa Kelly. Darrel Ward truly a legend and truly missed.
Why is it almost always that it’s the good ones that die young? The wicked ones seem to live on and on. Life is really not fair. The good die young and the wicked go unpunished.

I have always seen the series ice road truckers. when i read about the death of darrell i was totally shaken. such a meaningless death, heaven should have waited! he was far too young! rest in peace my friend!

Man this is f'd up. I just finished watching a random ep. of the show and figured that I'd Google that what's up with the show currently. To find out that he has passed away... That's rough... I remember like it was yesterday when Darrell was first introduced in the show and he instantly became my favorite. I really hope he found his American Dream. So unfair... RIP.

🙋 Ice Road Truckers is an amazing fantastic TV series + I love and I enjoy watching as well. I will say it is a shame what happened to Darrell he seemed like he was a really awesome and the coolest person on Ice Road Truckers. May his soul rest in peace.

We have just found out about Darrell Ward's death,I know news travel's slow here in S.E.Scotland Berwickshire.A very good guy,worked hard,played hard. But a great character on "Ice Road Truckers"really nice to hear all his fellow stars speak highly of him.God bless Darrel R.I.P.

Deweys cousin was the one killed. Dewey was involved in a fatal accident however when a car crashed into his semi in Shelton WA. He was uninjured

When I first saw this I was shocked the guy just started a rival trucking group and it still can grow and compete with polar I hope that this show does keep going and I can’t wait until this season starts this shows that some people are bolder than the cold

I guess he should have stuck to trucking. It’s tough enough to keep the ‘shiny side up’ with only the ‘x’ and ‘y’ coordinates to deal with...
Once you add that ‘z’ coordinate, all bets are off. The complexity of adding that third dimension is exponential, for so many reasons. It’s why the loss rate is so high in flying small aircraft.

Darrell was the best guy on this show he took no bs from anyone for Todd to say he was irrogant wow Todd I tell ya what! you aren't half the MAN Darrell was and you will never be near half the man as Darrell if you lived 1000 years. RIP Big DW and all the best to Reno Darrells' twin lol
Darrell had a massive amount of self confidence,which, of course can come across as arrogance to others. What Darrel was able to do was actually back up his self esteem with actual action.
