Nick, I know the money isn’t good nowadays...and I know that you’re busy, burned-out, bored, bummed (that’s all the alliteration I have at the moment) etc., but I miss you man... I certainly can’t speak for the community at large, but to me, you ARE the embodiment of RUclips knife reviews...nobody touches the way you do what you do...and you are a GEM! So please, just consider making an extra video here or there (even if it’s a crappy video) to help placate the angst of those of us accustomed to their regular dose of Shabazz witticisms...
You’re still the people champ Mr. Shabazz! The price on this one is really great all things considered; wouldn’t have heard about it without the heads up; thanks sir. I’m sure everything will eventually come up Rosas. ❤
I haven't seen a Nick Shabazz video in a while, I miss you Nick, you and Metal Complex were the first channels I found when I got into this crazy knife hobby a few years ago and I'm glad to see you posting and hope everything goes well and works out 👍
I hope YOUR doing okay. I hope YOUR hanging in there. And maybe this brings YOU a little bit of joy. And most of all, that YOU have YOURSELF a wonderful rest of YOUR day. Thanks Nick
Signed up for notification when they are back, my wife does not like you sir. Keep up the good work. I came across your channel a few years ago, had not really thought about pocket knives since I was a kid, and now I have a little collection. Take care of yourself and we will be here whenever you come back.
Sorry to hear that life is handing you lemons at the moment (or maybe it’s a year). One thing is clear, it will get better! And don’t worry, we’re glad to get even a little bit of you. Thanks!
NICK! Do a knife review laying in a hammock while slicing up a bowl of fruit and dozing off while the drone zooms out showing you sleeping in a Hawaiian shirt & Batman mask. You earned it and everyone will watch to support your dedication. Don't forget the UV protection cuz you will probably be there a while.
I asked them once what the jacket was on their ZDP189 knives and they responded. I can't locate the message now, but it's a steel Id never heard of that starts with a "4" I think. And it's something they add to boost the toughness of the blade. I'm sure if it's the outer jacket, it's got to be somewhat stainless too, but I believe increased toughness is the goal.
Everybody has thing they're going through. You have to think about yourself & those around you that you love first. The knife community & RUclips community will understand.
Always nice to catch a weekend Shabazz. Hope things improve for you soon man. Nice looking knife, like all of Laconico designs. After a couple bad experiences with the quality of their imports I'll stay away now, but they always do look tempting. I've got a lot more confidence in the Laconico designs branded by Kizer or WE. Seems backwards...
He sounds like his personal relationships are not turning out to be what he at one time thought they were going to be. He might be having a bit of disagreement with those he is closest to based on the more hectic schedule he is required to do at his job! Here’s hoping that all things are resolved going forward and that it all works out well in the end!!
The wife needs to drop a full review of the Nick Shabazz (in a similar way as how Pete reviewed his cats). Anyway - sorry for whatever loss you experienced. Hope your coming days are a bit brighter.
Nick size should be a quality that does not affect a review evaluation. I rarely buy a sub 3” knife, the trick is to appreciate the build and design without regard to size. It’s like if you’re not a lanyard guy then any lanyard hole could be bad, or you could say “if I gotta have a lanyard hole then this is how it should be done”.
I love your videos and what you brought and bring to the community. Beside that, maybe you should have not replace that old background you where reviewing on 🤔 since you did things seems to become harder. Just kidding, I wish you having a good and easy time again. The truth is, the older we get the less easy it becomes.. Maybe. But on the other hand, maybe that's just a feeling sine things are important which wasn't in more early days. The good thing is. The older we get the more we can tell us what we have and what's good. We only need to try to remind that. Since we getting older we forget things more often I guess. Wish you a wonderful and relaxing day Nick
As far as I’m concerned, this knife soars while others bog down is, in part because it has a liner lock! Frame locks are fine if they are designed well, so it’s not too hard to stay off the lock! Liner locks eliminate that problem completely.
@@NickShabazz I respect that you're a pro and you do good work, *however*, consider doing what the youth call 'shit posting'. Just consider. That's all this humble bozo is saying.
I was wondering why I wasn't seeing your videos in my feed then I went to your channel and to my surprise somehow I was no longer subscribed to your channel which I found rather strange. RUclips is scrubbing peoples subscribers for some reason
This channel used to actually be good before he became a pimp for high-end knife makers and don't you dare defend yourself against that accusation because it's perfectly true
You know I gem 'em', junk 'em, love 'em, leave 'em 'Cause it's not like need 'em Review 'em like I should', keep 'em if they're good Till the new exceeds 'em' But if they bust I'm breezing Talking about, "What's my reasons?" It a tool in every sense of the word Gotta trust and believe 'em
Wait, if he wasn't supposed to aim for that what are you suggesting he should have done? Become a shill for all the low quality knives? I don't get it man.
Keep your head up Nick. This community is so grateful for what you do. Love the Rosalinda too. It was a “must have” for me as soon as I saw it.

A lot of us really appreciate you Nick. Sending good thoughts your way!
You are by far my favorite knife reviewer. You are honest and frequently very funny. You are yourself. Thank you for being the way you are.

We love and appreciate you, Nick! Hopefully things get smoother for you soon.
Hope you’re well Nick. Keep your head up. We miss you when you’re gone.
Nick will always be the underground king in the knife reviewing community.
Keep trucking Shabazz! Trust you’ll overcome any adversity and hardship. Your supporters are wishing you peace and happiness, keep your head up.

We miss you, especially since it seems like a good year for new knives, but we understand. Thanks for sharing and hang in there.
I hope YOUR doing okay. I hope YOUR hanging in there. And maybe this brings YOU a little bit of joy. And most of all, that YOU have YOURSELF a wonderful rest of YOUR day. Thanks Nick
With the atrocities going on in Israel right now, this video was such a nice palette cleanser. Thank you.

When it rains it pours… thanks for another great video.
Frankly the combination of what became the *disassembly/review* has been working well I think.
Hang in there Nick. Sending you good vibes!
This knife reminds me a bit of Laconico’s earlier Kizer Gemini, an old favorite of mine.
You are a legend Nick, and legends never die :)
Thoughts are with you brother, hopefully things turn around for you soon.
Glad to see a Shabazz review! Excited for anything you have time to do and hope thing get better!
in these zdp189 "sandwiches", the outer layers are often 420, good corrosion resistance and keeps the costs down.

At first look - a very vanilla design. Wishing you all the best, stay strong.
I read recently, on the MBK website, that the jacket steel is “420J”

What happened?
Hey Nick, hope all is well. Always a pleaure to see you put up content. Made it thru lockdowns watching your stuff. Is that a Seamaster? Take care.
I like the process of taking the knife apart
Cool knife! Cool review! It would also be nice to see a review of the new knife from Y-start "delimiter"
They need to release a mini version 🙏

I hope Monterey Bay is paying TRM a royalty…looks just like a TRM Atom. Another outstanding knife. Keep up the great work Nick!
Very nice, makes me think if the we esprit. Definitely a Laconico design
Was think the same
And the Sokoke... And his custom line..
I would LOVE one of these in a 4" blade
Got one on the way! Thanks brother

Is it too obvious my brain has thumbstud trauma?
Were you really in the “family“ long ago as an enforcer?…..just curious….;)
Unhelpful suggestion: Hire a temp editor to compile "digressions" just for fun and to drop whenever you feel like it's been too long since posting.
Here's the funny thing about how I work: I generally shoot in single takes, uploaded directly. So there's really not much on the cutting room floor!

Deep valleys, high peaks.
Looks like a bigger trm neutron
So an Atom.

Nick. Look in the comment section of your vaer d4 video. I do not want to get into watches.

$235 isn't particularly high end in the 2023 knife market. That's solidly midrange these days.
