Thanks, your vid explains that I can get the quantizer to only sample a new note when I tell it. Saves me a s&h. Mosaic's own quick guide video only used the trigger input for arp function. Cheers.
Thanks, yeah it was a great discovery. You can also use it as a pseudo half wave rectifier (that will quantize a bit obviously). And bump the slew up a bit and you can get smoother transitions between the S&H values.
I've had 2 Mosaic Quantizers fail on me now. Both in different ways. There are some serious quality control issues at Mosaic. Sadly this is just another example of the horrible production standards I have witnessed across the entire eurorack industry. I would advise anyone thinking to buy this module to find another solution.
@@willwallace3002 the first failure was from unknown cause, but the issues were many. Here is an excerpt from my email to Mosaic: “It is quantizing cv, I think it's in quant mode, but I can't tell because the mode selection is unresponsive. I press shift and a new mode, but nothing happens. I cannot add or subtract notes from the scale. I cannot add slew. I cannot change octaves. When I press any button, the seven “white key” buttons flash once. No lights are on when nothing is pressed, but when I hold shift, that light pulses. I cannot power cycle to fix this issue. I thought I might be in calibration mode initially, but this does not seem to be the case.” Mosaic did replace the module. The second defective module was stuck in arp mode. Once again Mosaic replaced the module. That one is still working just fine.

Mine arrived non functioning as well! Avoid this company forever. Bad quality all around.
