Hi Catherine it was a very clever video lots to think about if your getting married. Why oh why hasn't anyone married you yet you are a very pretty girl . Keep up the good work brilliant. ❤
Our girl, Catherine, I cannot believe someone hasn't (in your own words) "wifed" you yet! 😂😂😂😂 What's wrong with the Irish lads over there? Maybe I should send you over a big South African boy! Much love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Catherine, that wood is likely Balsa wood which is very light and often used to make different craft items. Everything looks great, as usual. I cannot wait to get a Cricut!!
I have a cigar box, which i ironed a Celtic pattern onto years ago. I then burned the pattern onto the box with a magnifying glass using the sun. It did come out really well but I got quite sunburnt on one side. I took me a few hours.
Burning in to wood is nice to do, I bought the tool by Lidl, everything you make looks so beautiful. Hope you all had a wonderful wedding, with lots of Love, Sunshine, Cake and dancing till the dawn ❤️🌞🧁💃🏻🕺🏻
It was so nice and pretty Catherine I'm sure they loved it! Did I hear a dog in first part of the video around 2:50? I'm glad you said the 5th when refering to the date, that gave me the notice to remember Europeans put the day date before the month, to me being from USA I thought it was May 8th when I saw 5-8-23. I was wondering how the female name first went over. I was thinking how the tradition is Mr and Mrs - so with female first then that would be Mrs and Mr. - as for the wood of that cigar box, most likely balsa wood.
Everything is beautiful. Great job. Wood burning kit you had it correct. I hope you had a great time at the wedding and found a chap to dance and share a drink with. You are such a beautiful and talented young lady. Enjoyed this video. You are the cricket guru.
all the bits you made were lovely and your friends will be over the moon. such a great way to spend some time - bit of crafting :) thank you for all your lovely ideas x
You did a lovely job on the projects your friends asked of you for the wedding presentation table. That was kind of you to help out. A few years ago I made wedding invitations using my Cricut for my grandson’s friends. It saved the young couple a bundle of money, and it was fun to do! 🎉
Oh wow Catherine what a beautiful idea for a wedding and I’m sure the bride and groom were delighted. Hope you enjoyed your wee break . 👏🏻💗🙋🏻♀️ Patricia x
Burning into wood is called pyrography what a lovely keepsake that would be, great to display in a garden. Love design space, can it be used without the Cricut? I have a machine that uses svg files there’s so more more choice with Cricut. Thanks for a lovely video, hope you’re getting a nice break ❤️
Oh I am not sure if you can use design space, but, I know it is free to sign up and you can upload your own svgs and customise it, so you could try signing up and seeing if it will let you cut off your other machine. When I go to hit make, it asks to connect to my Cricut? so there might be a work around to connect it to your machine
Catherine, these are lovely projects! I'm sure your friends really appreciated them! If you want to do wood burning with cricut, I've seen some crafters use scorch markers with a heat gun. I've not personally tried it yet but have a project planned. Best wishes to you and the happy couple!
Very nicely done.❤❤ My brother in law has a wood burning iron and he does all sorts of words in scrap pieces of wood. Even sayings on wooden spoons. Ideas are endless. Specially if you look on pintrest🤭
I love your ideas and how they turned out. I believe what you were looking for burning the wood is Pyrography Pen Wood Burning. Last Christmas I had my 6 year old Grandson, print out Merry Christmas to his Mum, Dad, Grandpa and GG. Love Jaxson . I was able to trace his printing on to cutting boards. Then I went over each letter with my wood burning tool and was able to give each one of a memory of his printing at the age of 6. Much love from Canada ❤️
Brilliant video Catherine, really enjoyed watching this evening. Fantastic ideas for very special events. Thank you for sharing this video with us all.
love it! i have a wood burning/sauder iron combo with many different tips and i love it♡ i actually use one of the tips to bond/ mend plastics. ir wasnt much like 30 bucks or something... my son has my cricut.. you make me want to get it back from him lol
The problem our lovely Catherine is single is because she is just to good for most partners who.are available. I'm sorry, but this makes me glad in a selfish way as we get all of her attention 😊
If you want to transfer a pattern onto wood for woodburning, the simplest way to do that is to use a toner printer to print the design, and then use a burnishing tool or iron to reactivate the toner ink with the paper pressed against the wood. The ink should stick to the wood, and then you just trace over that with your woodburning tool.
The craft is called Pyrography, and you can use differen blades and temperatures to create different effects, but it needs lots of practice. You can get a pen that creates the same effect, just draw your desighn and then carefully use heat gun to bring your desighn, it actually burns the wood. So if you are not as good at drawing, you can create a stencil with your Cricut. Desighn to the nines has tutorials creating pottery barn monogramed charcuterie board dupes using the cricut, pen and heatgun 😊
In Brownies, we did “wood burning” with a piece of wood and a magnifying glass. It was a summer project. Edit: Are they beautiful? Yes. Are we at all surprised? No. 🥃

Thanks Sharon! X
@@DaintyDiaries Love ya girlie ❤️
If I ever get married again ,I’m calling you! Great idea…..❤❤❤❤❤❤
hahah, I am only a call away x
Pyrography is the word for wood burning
A woodburning tool is used to do pyrography - I frequently make a design and burn this into wood for clients.
Catherine, that wood is likely Balsa wood which is very light and often used to make different craft items. Everything looks great, as usual. I cannot wait to get a Cricut!!
Aw great tip with the wood! Thanks for sharing x
You did a good job all looks lovely… some day your Prince will come x

I thought you were going to put just the initials S & M on the box and my naughty mind was giggling. But you put the full names, phew. X
haha, never even thought of that x
Love the idea of a cigar box, good choice of font
Loved your southern accent when affirming this was NOT for your wedding. 😆 Very nice!
hahha, glad it did it good, I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Everything you made was beautiful! Your friends are lucky to have someone so talented.
You so kind!
You are so funny getting excited about knots in the wood but I agree it gives the item character.

They have a word burning gel that you can put on with a stencil then remove the stencil and use a heat gun.
This is so so clever, and sounds like less work too x
That was a fun project 🎉. You really made the most of the theme and I bet everyone had a good time with it.
Aw, thank you, I was really pleased with how it turned out x
Hi Catherine, try scorch paste/gel

You can use scorch paste too. Really easy with a Cricut stencil and heat gun (not a crafting one but a DIY one)
These ideas are so clever!
@@zoewassermann6601 , I haven't seen the paste before. I guess I'll be googling too. Thanks!

@DaintyDiaries totally and it is a good shortcut with so many possibilities. She also uses another type of pen to create glass etching 🥰
Balsa wood possibly?
so incredible!!
Wood is the 5th wedding anniversary x
I love this, thank you for sharing x
The cigar boxes can become memory boxes after the event.
So clever x
Pyrography......and I still bare the scars of the hot nib. 😉 Good fun though.
The only reason i can think of a man hasnt grabbed you yet is you can probably build and do many things that he cant do.❤❤❤
👍👌
you know we were wondering, if it was your wedding!
haha, had to clear that up in the first few seconds x
A wood burner.
Pyrography. It was a bit thing in the 70s and 80s. It has to be done on natural untreated wood to avoid toxic fumes and such.
In Brownies, we did “wood burning” with a piece of wood and a magnifying glass. It was a summer project.
Edit: Are they beautiful? Yes. Are we at all surprised? No. 🥃
Now that is very clever!
Pyrography?
Oh no. So wished
