Those sculptures are amazing! Hopefully get there some day. The scale of WA for scouting locations is pretty daunting. Seems like you could do it full time and still never see half of it.
Thanks Michael, a location definitely on my to do list. Have you shot much around Kalgoorlie region , I don't see a lot of astro from this area. Also curious why blue hour is not your favourite for foregrounds? I've had some great success with this method for large open landscapes where lighting would be impossible. My only dilemma is it feels a little like cheating but I also feel there is so much editing in astro already (tracking, stacking, blending) what's a bit more if it enhances the overall result.
I've been out a few times now exploring - just like a lot of WA there's a lot of distance involved so the exploring takes awhile. There are multiple locations that I want to go to for different nightscapes and expect to be out there at least one more time this year. A lot less light pollution there than what I expected. Re blue hour shots - a little like what you said. I'm a bit of a purist with nightscape shots generally using the same settings and shooting same time. I have done some myself as well. I've also seen some very poorly blended/composited or where people have used the blue hour shot to do complete composites where the stars do not reflect the location. Just like any technique can be done well or poorly.
Excellent video Michael. I have been out there on the lake in the cold at night and it is an amazing place, especially when the dingo's are howling. Awesome tips on how to approach and work the location. You made me want to go back again.
Hello and thank you from England 🏴
Imponujace i motywujace. Dziekuje .
Great video Michael, hoping to get out there some time soon! :-)
THANKYOU...

Great video nicely done 🖖
thanks - actually filmed maybe half a dozen videos since the last one, just decided to stop being a perfectionist and put some out :P

GP-E2 on your Canon would be useful.
several of the cameras have internal gps. The scouting and finding same night is the hard thing
Any other dangerous things to watch out for? Eg. Wild animals or humans 🤔
