    This was quite helpful as the manual that comes with the karu 12 says to take the chimney off and use the puck, but the one with the karu burner says to leave the chimney on, so it was a bit 50/50 as to which way to go. Makes sense now. :)

    Ideal. Helpful video, as I was unsure from conflicting info in the oven instructions vs the burner instructions. Thanks for making this 👍🏻

      We recently introduced a new gas burner specifically optimized for the Karu 12! However, our existing gas burner model will still work wonderfully with your Karu. There are some minor adjustments including longer flames in the newer model, but both burners make delicious pizzas!

    That's how you set it up. How long should it take before it it ready to cook a pizza? Mine has been on full for over an hour and isn't at 400c yet.

    • @Oonihq
      @Oonihq  Год назад

      It should take about 20 min! If you're in cold temps or high winds, you may have varying results. Please do reach out to our team at support.ooni.com or our live chat for assistance to make sure all is correct. We're happy to help 💛

    I am a little confused. I live in the USA. If I purchase the Ooni Karu 12 Insulated Steel Hearth Wood-fired Outdoor Pizza Oven Model #UU-P0A100, what gas burner should I purchase. The Karu 12 gas burner or the Ooni 3 gas burner. I want the better flame.

    • @Oonihq
      @Oonihq  Год назад

      The Karu 12 burner is a bit more powerful but both will get the job done! If you use the newer one, just be sure to leave the chimney on the oven, baffle open and without the chimney puck in! You'll be rockin' n rollin' 🔥

    Does the regulator need to be disconnected from the gas bottle after use, or just turned off at the burner and regulator?

    • @Oonihq
      @Oonihq  9 месяцев назад

      Hey! It definitely needs to be turned off after use and when storing please disconnect the regulator and the gas burner from the gas. Thank you 😊

    Hi, a good video but what's missing is two different regulators (snap-on and screw-on), how to attach them and whether one could attach the clip/snap-on on a screw-on tank? I was send clip/snap-on regulator although we only get screw-on tanks in Slovenia... not sure what I should do with it now hence am googling (get a new regulator or an adapter?). Ooni really should give users a choice which regulator or provide an adapter and most commons tanks in the EIU are threaded ones i.e. screw-on.

      Our ovens come supplied with the most popular regulator for the specific mbar pressure version of the oven - it isn’t possible to provide a universal regulator, because there are a huge variety of gas pressures and connection types! Thank you so much for your feedback! We will be sure to pass this along.

    • @anylookup
      @anylookup 11 месяцев назад

      @@Oonihq But you provide an incorrect regulator for countries such as Slovenia and you should NOT offer the 37 mbar version at all and only 30 mbar. I have not asked for a universal regulator but for your company to do a proper research which regulator you offer work. I can still see the 37 mbar as a default selection for Slovenia and unless you provide a bolt-on the clip-on you provide won't work! You state that either option can be provided by by default I was sent the clip-on and there was no choice. It took me a month to source a regulator from Poland that would work with the 37 mbar burner! So either ensure you always provide a bolt-on for the 37 mbar or remove this option completely and offer only 30 mbar for Slovenia. This will ensure people can use your products and don't have to be gas experts or consult local gas cylinders providers before purchase. I did contact my local gas supplier and they also mislead me / some staff don't know what they're talking about even though they work for a company that supplies a wide range of gas products.

    I have an older Ooni 12" with the gas flame adapter. During the winter ( 32 F) I could not get the stone above 600 F, even after 30 minutes.
    Using the new info from the video, I tried it with the chimney and it got a little hotter, 650 but not close to the 800-900 F needed to get a decent crust. very disappointing. I even tried it with the front cover on for a while. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

      Hi there! We're sorry that you're having a hard time getting the stone up to temperature. We recommend the stone be at 750F for a typical pizza and with it being cold out, there will be a bit more of a heat up time but you should be able to reach your desired temps with the chimney on, baffle open, the door on and the chimney cap off. If you're noticing difficulties still, please do send us an email or livechat us! You can reach us through support.ooni.com 💛

      My experience with both the wood burner and the gas burner. Neither got up to the advertised heat, and the results were not much better than supermarket pizza warmed up in a microwave.

      Air flow is sometimes an issue, depending on where you have it set up. I use a small fan to blow air underneath. It has helped somewhat.

    I have a Karu 12 with the newer gas burner. Does anyone know what the temp will heat up in the oven with the burner on a low or medium setting? Has anyone preheated the oven to 650F or higher, then turned off the gas, and closed the door and chimney and timed how long the oven will hold an internal temp of over 500 F? I want to try making small deep dish pizzas but not have the flame going over the top of the pizzas to avoid burning the sauce before the deep dish is cooked through. Lastly, has anyone installed a digital thermometer in a Karu 12? I am planning on trying to set up a dual probe digital thermometer with one probe placed through the hole in the oven floor and under the stone and the other probe either in the chimney or a partially open door.

      We wouldn't recommend installing a third-party accessory in your oven as this will void your warranty and we can't confirm if it will cause any future damages. Thanks for your understanding!
