What information would you be willing to share about your car? I'd be very interested in learning the specs. Engine configuration and output, gearbox and ratios, and suspension. I'm interested in getting involved in Rally on the hobby level and would like to know more.
so I'm looking to buy an old Volvo because I'm really into rally and have a bunch of roads like this in my area. I want a Volvo because there cheap and easy to find and I like how they look with the graphics and mud flaps. I already started rally concept with my 88 subaru but it's to hard to find parts for I'm mean really hard. so I want a Volvo for the frame and available junk yard parts. so I'm very serious about building a Volvo rally car not quite like this guy but as much as my wallet will allow. so let's say a spend 2,000 on a low gear ratio gear box do I need to up grade engine parts as well as transmission parts or will the stock engine and transmission be okay stock with the new gear box? either way this is a strong goal of mine so if any of you have any available info I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.
You will probably want more power than the stock B230f offers. You could swap in a B230ft from a volvo 740 turbo or a 940 turbo or install a turbo kit yourself. 240's only make around 100 horsepower from the factory.
@@TimLiljegren Thank you very much for responding. I am just starting a 240 build. Going for mild NA build of 140-150hp with b230f. Have you dyno'd your 240? Curious what power. Do you use cheap steering quickener or the "fast rack"?
@@blackedelweiss601 Good luck with your build! This car I haven’t.. But my 940 with a 2,5 litre had 285 bhp. This 240 I guess had like 240 bhp or something.
@@TimLiljegren Do you have a build thread on Turbobricks or perhaps a swedish forum? I'd be really interested in checking it out. Knowing peoples specs is one thing, seeing it in action is another! That is why I am curious. good driving.
A sensible and reliable family car
Holy cow....This is awsome!
It seems to be merely floating above the road, such skill!
That's how 240's drive :P
Now, thats how you drive !!!
Amazing !

Hi Tim, what are the specs on car?
Hi. The motor is a 2,3 B230 with Mikuni carburettors and modified cylinder head. Original brakes and suspension. Differential in the rear axle.
Tim.

@@blackedelweiss601 sorry, I forgot to answer one question. I have a fast rack. But they are very expensive. So I recommend the cheaper option.
