  • When I noticed a few simple coil making tools and a 26G Kanthal round-wire in my Innokin Ares V2 accessories bag, I experimented with building my own MTL coils for the first time in this video and the result was, in my opinion successful!! Perhaps not so perfect & professional looking as the ones you buy pre-made but the flavour from the 26G Kanthal round-wire I used in this video vaping a good quality NET is very satisfying indeed, added satisfaction is the knowledge that it will cost me pennies to change a coil as often as I want.

    This is Very helpful and encouraging video for many,especially this days.
    The reason for the ohm changes is the heat.
    When a metal wire heat the resistance will go up a bit depend of the type of the metal you use,some metal as SS more some less.
    After it get cold the resistance return back to what it was reading when the coil was cold.
    When the same amount of wraps produce a different reading on different RTAs/RBAs it’s because the different post design produces a different total length of the wire by dictating shorter coil legs or longer legs or more spaces or less spaces of the wraps.
    As already mentioned this behaviour and outcomes don’t make difference regarding the use of VW or VV mod.
    While in the beginning both Clapton and round simple wire can produce the taste
    level, after a use of few hours or a day (depending on the amount of vaping) the Clapton wire will keep on going bright taste for few more tanks while the round wire will in most cases will get more muted in relate to the way of use.

    Finnaly uve took a step in builduing youre on coils.in 7 years of vaping my first year and a half was quite annoying because of prea made coils.after that i moved to handmade coils.when i was vaping direct lung i used to make my dual and triple fused claptons.andi got bored .huge amounts of clouds.i was able to make me invisible with only one cloud😁.now for 2 yers im in mtl realm again.in my oppinion u dont need claptons or fused claptons for mtl.they tend to toast the flavour.the trick is to have the outside wire very thin.(0.08)that will creat crevases for liquid and the flavour would be outstanding.that is my opinion.for mtl if u want flavour and th best wire for me is 26 awg ka1 6 wraps on 2.5.if i want a litle more flavour i go with 28 awg ss316l 7 wraps on 2.5.both vaping on 18 watts

    Mark, from NV came up with that brilliant idea of just putting a small hole in the tin. Simple but effective the tins are ideal for it I remember years ago we used to use beadalon straps around our spools they also had a small hole in them in fact I still use them when making mtl fused Clapton or mtl aliens. If you've determined that Clapton coils have slightly better flavor, you can buy spools of Clapton wire and still wrap your own coils with it. It's still considerally cheaper than pre made coils. I also enjoy the Clapton crackle. It helps me to determine if my wicking and power are where I want them to be.

    Allow me to present my opinion: If you use a round coil, for example, 27 ga on 7 turns, and a complex coil, for example, alien 2×30/40 or fused 2×30/40, at first you will feel that the flavor is similar and only the sound will differentiate with you, but after a while, in the first case, you will feel The flavor declines very quickly, but in the second case, the flavor decline will be very slow, and therefore in the first case you will have to change the cotton much more quickly than in the second case. In my opinion, the best coil for MTL is Alien 2×30/40. Secondly, fused clapton. As for round wire, I never use it. On the other hand, making an Allen coil may be a little difficult and requires training, but making a fused clapton coil is very easy. You can make 30 coils in half an hour, enough to last you a year with very simple tools. Also, the alien or fused coil may only be replaced every month or a month and a half, but as for the round wire, you have to change it every week. Thank you.

      Thank you Said for your detailed coil building method I am sure it will be beneficial to many👍 As for me to be honest I prefer the easy way and I buy them nowadays ready made from naturevape mainly the Core Clapton 1.0ohm Ni80 28+38ga 2.5mm ID and as of late in new Alien MTL 0.8ohm 32x3/38ga Ni80 2.5mm ID. I am very happy with those two coil and I hardly build my own coils anymore.

    I have a few Mtl Rtas and I find the Vandy vape super find mtl clapton works well for me ..ive tried SS,N80,Kanthal I just never got much flavor at 15 -18w and I make my own juices and find those low watt devices just needs a few more percentages in flavor and was much better which makes sense..tbose disposables are only about 7w n full of flavor because their usually 1 straight fruit or fruit ice and they use about 25% flavoring! But at 7w you'd need a lot more flavoring I suppose..i just grabbed the Arbitor Solo which is a Restricted Dtl ( in between mtl and dtl) and I find a .6 or .4ohm coil n that extra Lil airflow I get a bit more flavor than my bezerker or Ares 2 but great video! I had to figure all this out over time but this gets right to it 👍 Great job and explanation

    My friend, you only have to care about the 1 ohm if you're using an unregulated mod - so you have around 16W with the fixed battery voltage around 4V (P = V^2 / R). There's where this "1 ohm myth" came from.
    For regulated mods, you just have to care about the size of the coil (no. of wraps, width oh the wire). For any resistance, the regulated mod will "regulate" the voltage so you have the watts (heat) you select.
    Hope it helps.
    Vape on.

    Excellent effort on your first attempt! Im new to using RTA tanks , been using stock coils for too long ... When do you know when its time to recoil? Is it the same as stock coils where you experience the burnt taste? Just started watching your videos and noticed you go into great detail on all of them! Good stuff 👌👍

    • @netvaper
      @netvaper  9 месяцев назад +1

      Stock coils emit a burnt flavour when gone. With RTA coils it is a bit different. Mainly when you notice a considerable reduction in flavour (you don’t really experience burnt flavour only when the cotton is dry) even after re wicking or when you notice the wire of coil has turned to a greenish gray colour or if you notice dark coloured streaks of liquid is contaminating the tank. It is time to change your coil. If you clean your coil every time you change cotton it should normally last for 4-6 weeks

      No difference at all in flavour in MTL vaping on lower wattage. Also when spaced there is less of a chance of hot spots. Normally when using kanthal round wire they tend to be spaced and when using fused clapton they tend to be tighter it is all due to the ramp up time

    You don't need to use something with a ceramic surface when you work with a spiral.m.? Watch the video at 18 min. 10 sec. ...? I just want to know, because I use it and maybe there is no need.

      Although there is a place for pod kits as a starting point for smokers but so many have flooded the market so I can hear you!! I will review a few good pod/starter kits in the coming weeks but I have carefully selected those from an ever growing list.

    Sir, have u ever build your own coil using Ni80 on MTL build? How does it taste?

    • @netvaper
      @netvaper  3 года назад +1

      Not yet Ihsan but I am planning too as my pre-made NI80 core clapton & fused clapton are very good. I did try the SS fused clapton but I prefer the NI80.

    hi
    i use geekvape ni80 26g and my builds between 1 to 1.2 owm
    i have a problem with the through hit .. some rare builds give me a very good strong hit like the normal cigs but the most builds come with no hit
    ( note that i use same wire and cotton all the time ) and it`s kind of unenjoyable vaping .. is there a secret of the through hit ??
    please tell me how can i make a strong hit with the normal mtl macro coils

    • @netvaper
      @netvaper  3 года назад

      Well Abd throat hit depends mostly on the level of the PG , nicotine and drew not so much on the coil build. Some coils fire quicker and hotter like the fused claptons but that will only improve flavour & vaper but not throat hit. Can it be that some of your liquids have higher PG content or nicotine.

    • @abdelmassihandraws9744
      @abdelmassihandraws9744 3 года назад

      NET Vaper i use the same liquid with the same nic strength

    • @netvaper
      @netvaper  3 года назад

      I would list now 6 ways that I know how to increase throat hit. As follows.
      1. Use a higher-nicotine juice. More nicotine equals more throat hit. Simple.
      2. Choose a higher-PG blend: roughly 50/50 PG/VG mix is good, for a basic tank system you should aim for a bit more PG than that.
      3. Increase the power or temperature: More power or a higher temperature will amplify your existing throat hit and add one of its own.
      4. Go with a menthol juice: Menthol boosts throat hit, so if it’s a priority, try out some menthol flavours. Citrus blends can work too.
      5. Decrease the airflow: Less airflow means a more concentrated, hotter vape, and that translates into a punchier throat hit.
      6. Use a different wick: Cotton has a lot going for it, but if you really can’t get a good enough hit, try a hemp wick to give your throat hit more of a bite.
