- Whitestown Indiana... The Indianapolis Suburb That's Exploding! Whitestown, Indiana has always been an extremely small town northwest of Indianapolis. For many years it actually wasn't really considered all that close! But, it's actually gotten closer to Indianapolis and Zionsville as the two grew over the years. Now, over the past 10 years Whitestown, Indiana has grown more than any other town or city in the Indianapolis metro. So, as you might imagine, most of Whitestown is incredibly new. Most of the homes have been built within the last 10 years along with most anything commercial in Whitestown. In this video, we'll explore Whitestown and how it's changed so much recently.

We moved in, in 2002 and made the population 505, and loved it.
I came from the Haughville/Stringtown(hood) area of Indianapolis and appreciated the change of environment.
Now the population is over 8k.
And these "newcomers" are now starting to cry about further development.
And I'm over here like...."Damn city slicker yuppie types... I remember when non of you champagne socialists lived here"

@@LivingInIndianapolis Hi Jason. Looking forward to your new video on Whitestown/Zionsville. We continue to look in this area, especially Stonegate subdivision Zionsville, but get confused by the weird town boundaries around Whitestown Rd, the dubious things we read in forums about “Anson” (whatever that really is) including small-lot cheap build quality homes, and the very close proximity to I-65 (truck stop gas stations, warehouses like Amazon; busy traffic on Whitestown Rd, etc). Is the future a transient gritty driving-commuter outpost that’s far from charming Zionsville and Carmel, or is it a desirable up-and-comer? Thanks for your thoughts and videos, Jason.

I remember when anson was still in phase 1. I think they had the intention of creating another “west clay” or “stone gate” but sadly it has become more of a camby with high density low quality houses.
Hey please tell me why. Buy home in Indiana IN. Is shipper then Carmel and Fisher. What about Lawrence it's good too ? And home also is shipper. Why please tell us
M.B., Lawrence would not be a consideration. You will always pay more for the desirable, lower crime areas like Carmel, Fishers.
I lived in Whitestown from 1959 to 1970 on Horseshoe drive just outside of the town to the north. My Dad operated a Pool Hall downtown and was also a member of the Civil Defense. I was born there in 1959 then we moved in 1970.

Great video, how are the schools look like in Whitestown
It depends on which township you live in. If you live in Eagle Township, the kids will go to Zionsville Schools, which are some of the best public schools in the state, but if they live in the other townships, they will go to Lebanon Schools. Lebanon Schools are very good, but they just aren't rated as high as Zionsville. Whitestown does not have any public school system of their own yet, though there are two private schools in Whitestown: Traders Point Christian Academy and Boone Prairie School.

Why is it called Whitestown lol just curious
It was named for Albert Smith White, a U.S. Senator from Indiana. The name of the town has at points been noted for being easily perceived as having historical ties to racism in Indiana, despite Albert S. White being known as a leading abolitionist
