Did you know that Spawn was one of the most requested guest characters prior to his addition? And it’s understandable, just look at him. AVirk did an awesome job at breaking down his gameplay and teaching us how to play properly.
This is a really awesome guide. I have never played a character that plays this way and I love spawn. I want to get better with my favorite character. So I appreciate it you making it simple and easy to follow along. Now I just need practice
Image Comics owns the publishing. Spawn was created by toy-company owner/comic contributor Todd McFarlane. Spawns first appearance in a comic was in 1992.
I wanna ask you. Is it easier to land 2,4 or 1,1 after BF3 in the combo. There's a dash cancel that pains me after Chargi ng Hellspawn with 1,1 Is it needed for 2,4?
The inputs during the bread and butter combos are wrong the first 2 4 in the last few combos are really F2 3 but I loved the video.I already played spawn, but this had some good tools and info.
Are you saying its annotated incorrectly or are you claiming that f+2,3 is a better option? Because when they say 2,4 they are doing the 2,4 in the video. Edit: Ahhh i see now, during the KB throw combo.
I don't like charging hellspawn eating up 2 slots. I go hell chain, blaze of glory, soul forfeit. The low parry into attack is wayyy too good in my eyes. The hell chain is basically a distance grab, and he's definitely a mid range character. Thanks for the vid but I don't think this ones gonna help me out much. We have 2 different paths of thinking
I’m new to mortal kombat this is my first one and I’m trying to play in your face rush down characters or characters that do big damage. I’ve picked spawn and shao Kahn. How do you do spawns projectile?
He isn't too complex, inbound practice with even simpler characters such as Scorpion/Sub-Zero, but he shouldn't be too much if a challenge. Plus, the game has tutorials too teach you the basics of Spawn anyway
@@alr_alr_alr they are kinda the same difficulty wise if you count everything, one Tekken character having the move list of 2 mk characters and motion inputs over direction inputs for attacks and more movement, making it more complex but less movement and chip damage in MK makes it harder at times, since in Tekken not all the time will you be using 90+ attacks unless you play Hwoarang, Lei or Jin
Wait, so with soul forfeit, the damage of using all of your KB’s into a single combo AND spend a bar, it would be 57%, but if you just saved the throw KB for when you actually were in the corner, the throw KB combo would be 50% with 1 bar and no other KB’s? Seems like Soul Forfeit is overrated for just adding 7% at the cost of wasting all your kb’s. It would be wiser to just save the KB requirement as a means of checking players who trap you in the corner. That would add a layer of mind games that is otherwise wasted with Soul Forfeit. Is this not a valid reason? Edit: the uppercut Krushing blow is one of the most destructive and powerful tools that you have access to. Why would you waste that juicy damage? Punishing a high happens all the time and it literally is a guarantee to happen 9/10 games. Seems like Soul Forfeit is just Fool’s Gold, and it makes you play with less than a full deck of cards if you look at the facts.
The thing is, it's only his forward throw that KBs, so anyone who has their opponent's Spawn in the corner is going to be hyperaware of the need to tech a forward throw at all times. Being able to get a big combo off a forward throw at literally any time is extremely clutch. Also, yes his d2 kb is big damage, so it's good to get the max out of it, but that also means it's really good to be able to use it towards the end of a combo, especially when gravity scaling means nothing else will extend the combo. Lastly, with soul forfeit and his fatal, you can get well over 800 damage. It's a tradeoff for sure, but it's definitely not fool's gold. It also has a big psychological effect once you apply it because your opponent knows their health bar can be obliterated at any time off either a low, an overhead, a mid, or a throw. When a player like Avirk applies Soul Forfeit, and he only needs one round to win, Spawn becomes absolutely terrifying.
@@blazaybla22 if you do pull off the big combo, that’s no Krushing blows for the remaining game, and no fatal blow for the next round. That’s a huge trade off. And throw tech is not as easy as people think it is, especially when you shimmy or stagger. I also think that the deletion of 1 offensive and defensive meter bar shouldn’t have been something that Spawn has to trade off for a soul forfeit activation. It just seems like a clunky way of balancing the mechanic, when it really doesn’t need such a debuff in the first place.
You’re actually just over analyzing a bit; it’s a powerful tool for closing out a final round, it’s a clutch mechanic sort of like fatal blow. And you only loose one offensive bar, not one of each. I personally don’t use charging hellspawn; I’ll bring two other moves with KBs And, you can space them out individually for easy chunks of 350-400 damage, I’ve done it many times in a final round. This ability is powerful.
U have to realize. Soul forfeit will only be used in the final round and what avirk says about it is very true. Its either gonna give u a huge life lead or give u a really good head start to ur comeback
Gotta learn that one dial in … his wave dash can get you half way across, the dial in closes the didatance, yes it’s punishable via flawless block or a mid timed input but I promise you, I’ve made some scarlets and even cetrions pay dearly for relying on projectiles, it’s one crushing blow but the third attack comes out just as fast every time , it’s almost working hard to do what other characters can do with a teleport but that’s the price of spawns damage output
Man this game is too hard for a beginner. So frustrating You have to push the buttons so fast Impossible game. After 10 hours, i still lose every single online match.
i feel like that’s a bit of an overreaction, or your just not suited for this game. i was winning quite a few matches online after completing the tutorials and part 1 of the story which is maybe about 5-6 hours at most
You aren’t supposed to be winning many matches online after 10 hours of play 😂. Remember you get really good players in lower ranks sometimes. Either smurfing or ranking up alt accounts. Don’t worry about your win/loss stat off the bat or even when retarded kids tea bag while you are learning. Just take it round by round and learn, improve on what you know. It will come eventually.

One of my fav characters that I don't know how to use.
Please post Sheeva next...
He needs a new movie
Awesome
He is the most request due to the fact that he was supposed to be in MKX but didnt make it, so when he finally was in mk11, i lost my mind.

i love dashfight bro, so good at breaking down characters. overall makes my experience playing fighting games more fun as a casual player 💪🏻
Spawn was in SC2! I remember because I had it on PS2 but the Xbox version had spawn and had me so jealous
YEP! SC2 was lit too
"Maybe that's why my soul still burns"
They really nailed it with that callback!
He was awesome in sc2! his last weapon had like +255% damage and made him into a monster
oh yeah i remember that now. I was thinking it was Injustice 1
I was in the same boat. We got Heihachi from Tekken as the guest character. Not nearly as cool.

I love the video btw..awesome stuff,thanks..already subscribed and liked
Spawn has too many powers to count, I’m glad they chose the basics instead of trying to make a JJBA: ASBR character
Thanks a lot, helped me hop on online as a new player and win a good amount of matches, gona practice him
The guide I’ve been waiting for
I’m a spawn main and I’ve gotten anti airs with f21 and f23 it actually works very well

Great video. Really helped me learn him quickly for playing with friends.
His 2 bar mid screen from b12 is:
B12, f2, bf3 amp f2, bf3 amp d2
Awesome guide! I really enjoy these
Very helpful, keep it up broo
Glad you found it helpful!
Honestly, spawn is one of my most played character outside of kung Lao
In one of the combos you say press "FL1" what's the L? I see S in some of the other videos like S3 or S4 what is the S represent?
Spawns powers? Literally anything. He's basically God
Well he literally became God at one point and reset the entire universe after defeating God and the Devil 😂😂 he's OP asf

First comment, huzzah. Another great guide 👍
Spawn can wield the Axe, Sword and Spike Club Weapons.
This game is a lot harder then mk1 no one can tell me other wise. But I still wanna get good at this game 😭
thank you
Great guide!
Soul caliber had Spawn for og Xbox link for GameCube and heiachi or whatever his name was from Tekken.
Extremely underrated channel.
Thank you for the kind words :)
thanx

@21Handguns good one. You still play mk11? Loser
So Spawn is a spacing focused character

His weakness is close quarters, no wonder why I lose to scorpion so often 😂
was spawns first appearance soul caliber 2??
Yep!
What does "FL1" mean in the Throw KB combo? It was not in your annotations section of the video.
Cool guide, is there some inside joke why robocop is the training dummy in every episode, like what’s up with that 😄
Video won't get demonitized because he doesn't have red blood
Thank YOU! Glad you like it :)
hahah that's a good question.
here come the spawns
Spawn STAN here
about time

My MK newby brain got hella confused 😂
1-X
2-Y
