But FAI are still Futurists. It doesn't matter if they believe in a Pre-trip. Rapture, or not. Futurism is futurism, and it's still nonsense. Futurism was first systematized by the Jesuit, Francisco Ribera (he also didn't believe or know anything about a Pre-trip. Rapture). Robert Bellarmine (S.J.; another Jesuit) followed the futurism of Ribera. This was a means of refuting the Reformation teaching on Bible prophecy. Preterism is no better. It was first systematized by another Jesuit, Luis de Alcasar. This was another means of refuting the Reformation teaching on Bible prophecy. BOTH of these systems, Preterism and Futurism, were promulgated by the avowed ENEMIES of the God-ordained Protestant Reformation in order to divert men's minds from perceiving the TRUTH about the Antichrist. Futurists think Antichrist is a single, solitary, individual human being yet to come. Preterists think Antichrist was a single, solitary, individual human being that existed in the past. Notice the false presupposition in both these systems? That Antichrist is a single, solitary, individual human being. Yet, Scripture teaches that Antichrist is a "sea beast," which, according to Daniel (7:3) a "beast which rises out of the sea" is an EMPIRE! Please don't fall for the Futurist nonsense of Joel and Dalton; they are just as much false teachers of Bible prophecy as any other Futurist; thus, they don't know what they're talking about when they speak on Bible prophecy. I've been studying Ez. 38-39, and had just reached the same conclusion! There are many more points as well... one that jumped out to me today: God knocks the bow out of Gog's hand. The Antichrist is carrying a bow in Revelation 6.

In my Hebrew Bible set in the book of prophets the commentary recalls Genesis 1 the creation to Ezekiel 20 , which are s a beautiful way to look at it. Also Linking Gog with the cosmic upheavals at the end of days. Even though this set of Hebrew bibles does not agree with end time prophecy as we do, it still a very important learning tool for me to get a peek into the views of the Hebrew commentary.

Another reason to truly question the idea that Gog is the Antichrist is that Gog is called a Chief Prince more than once in Ezekiel 38 and we see that Michael is also called a Chief Prince in scripture as well. Is it possible Gog is a fallen angel? It is possible Gog is the Chief Prince of Tubal, etc. meaning he is the spirit being that is running the show in those regions? It could make sense since Gog is around for what appears to be 1000's of years in scripture.
I am learning a lot from you brothers. I was first called to faith mostly through a PCA church back in 1980. I started putting Scripture texts to music. I then attended Westminster Choir College in Princeton. Ugh, the spirit of that town. I ask you all to pray for me. I have had a rough career and the enemy has sidelined and shamed me. I'm not sure how to proceed. Please consider my appeal to get Christians singing the Psalms. Just one of those ways is Metrical Psalm singing, in which the text is paraphrased to fit into a repeated melody that people can pick up pretty quickly. Some of you know the Metrical Psalm singing tradition of the Reformed Church. They have held an 'amillennial' position traditionally, but look folks, they have been singing the Psalms for centuries! Well, this idea of singing the Psalms I would promote, because this very thing will prepare people for the coming days, but the devil has sidelined me. A few videos I did several years ago with the help of my 'New Thought' friend. These are my only appeal on the internet now. It is weird that I have been able to do anything at all, I am so unworthy. These videos are meant for singing along to learn the songs. People who know the tunes are to sit next to people in the pew who are unfamiliar with them when you start organizing psalm singing events. I will also briefly touch on this view. First, let’s read the text in Revelation: When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison, and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. (Revelation 20:7-9) So while it is clear that both Revelation and Ezekiel do indeed use the same terms to describe an event that shares some commonalities, (they both describe an attempted attack on God’s people), there are also some very clear distinction between both prophecies. The first distinction is that the attempted invasion of Revelation’s account is described as an utter failure. Before the invaders even begin to accomplish their goals, they are consumed by fire outside of the camp of the saints . The invasion described in Ezekiel 38-39, on the other hand is described as anything but a failure. On the other hand, the invaders of Ezekiel are destroyed throughout the actual land of Israel. These distinctions are not insignificant. Why then the similarity of names? In my opinion, by the time of the writing of the Book of Revelation in the 1st century, the term Gog and Magog had become a well-known motif, similar to the common use of “armageddon” or “apocalypse” today. We might say for example something like, “It was a financial armageddon on Wall Street today.” This has nothing to do however, with the valley of Meggiddo in Israel. Such an expression simply points to nearly any great catastrophe. Because Ezekiel 38 and 39 was essentially the greatest prophetic passage in the Old Testament concerning the final Satanic invasion of Israel, it was what we may very rightly call, “the Armageddon of the Old Testament.” The phrase “Gog and Magog” simply came to be understood as a massive Satanic-led invasion or attack of God’s people in Jerusalem. So the Gog and Magog motif simply points to any massive effort by Satan to gather his hordes and attack to Israel. The Gog and Magog of Ezekiel 38-39 and the Gog and Magog of Revelation 20 however, cannot be one and the same. Not only are they clearly separated by a thousand years, but as we already highlighted, their respective attacks have drastically different results. One is utterly successful, the other is an abysmal failure. While Ezekiel is referring to the Antichrist and the events that take place just prior to the Millennium, Revelation 20:7-9 is exactly what it says it is; a very brief event that takes place at the conclusion of the Millennium, one final effort by Satan to do what he had already failed to do just before being chained and cast into the abyss for a thousand years.

(Ezekiel 38:14-16; 39:1-3) This perspective is, in my opinion, untenable and cannot be reconciled with the testimony of Scripture. First, let’s begin by observing that Israel is not truly secure. They are living in fact, in a false state of security. Notice that Gog plans on attacking a people who are described as “unsuspecting”: You will say, I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people all of them living without walls and without gates and bars. (Ezekiel 38:12, 13) I believe the issue of Israel living “securely” is merely a perceived sense of security. Consider the fact that the Israelites are about to be invaded. So are they truly living securely or merely living with a relative sense of security? If a person is sleeping securely in their bed and seven murderous and well-armed thieves are only moments away from breaking into the house to rob and kill, can it truly be said that the unsuspecting person sleeping is secure? Or it is merely a perceived security? Such is the precisely the case with Israel in Ezekiel’s prophecy. I would also argue that while the Israel of today fully recognizes that various threats surround them, they are not presently suspecting any massive military invasion from a foreign nation. The sense in Israel is one of relative security. It is difficult not to see Ezekiel’sdescription of Israel as anything other than the Israel of today: “After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them.” (Ezekiel 38:8) The Israel that Ezekiel describes is a people who have been gathered from many nations. They resettled the land which had formerly been a continual waste. And they are living securely. Now consider the fact that the Scriptures inform us that the Antichrist will lull Israel into a false state of security through deception,specifically for the purpose of invading the land: He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power. (Daniel 8:25) He will invade the kingdom when its people feel secure, and he will seize it through intrigue. (Daniel 11:21) When the richest provinces feel secure, he will invade them and will achieve what neither his fathers nor his forefathers did. He will distribute plunder, loot and wealth among his followers. He will plot the overthrow of fortresses-but only for a time. (Daniel 11:24) So we have seen that the method and scheme of the Antichrist is exactly that of Gog. When the people feel secure, then he will invade them. This is simply because they are simply one and the same individual.
While I can see that this makes sense, is Armageddon different than Ezek 39? Gog is given a burial place in Israel (Ezek 39:11) but the AntiChrist is thrown alive into the firey lake of burning sulfur (Rev 19:20)
I am not trying to disparage this teacher. We are told to contend for the faith. You are correct in what you wrote. The Antichrist and False Prophet will both be thrown into the lake of fire at the end of the 7 year tribulation.

In Ezekiel the concerned nations invade to plunder the resources, whereas the intention at Armageddon is to wipe Israel out entirely. Another difference is that in Ezek. a limited number of nations are involved, but at Armageddon ALL the nations gather around Israel
I can see the duality of Ezekiel 38 and Revelation 20:7-8. Remember, Israel, on the morning of being invaded by gog from his land in the north, Israel will be surrounded on ALL SIDES, then the first day of the second half of the seven year period Israel is invaded, by gog of Magog. So it is in Revelation 20:7-8 the same scenario is played out, once again Israel is surrounded on ALL SIDES, and the saying. "Gog of Magog is made once again, almost like a "remember" statement for us to recall this has happened before, the one constant is Satan, Satan is there on BOTH, the first invasion, and the second attempted invasion, even though the first "Gog of Magog" (in the flesh) is already in the lake of fire. So the dual reference of Gog of Magog is played out twice, the second attempt after the 1,000 years is a reference to the first invasion as a sort of a memory jogger, Israel is once again surrounded on ALL SIDES, just like from the first invasion, a simple duality reference, and @sustained by his love said this in his response also.

This makes more sense than the more popular position, that what is going on with Russia right now could be the start of their move against Israel, hence the Gog of Magog war. But i had the same questions: How can this NOT be the final battle, since the Lord would be made known in an undeniable way to the nations as God, and the types of things that He uses, rain, hailstones, fire , sulfur, etc? So does the antichrist then come, and fool the nations, after God has made His Name known, caused earthquakes, etc?
Hi Joel. I like your expositions especially because you search rationally the Scriptures, and make really a profound and logical analysis of what the text says. The Idea that the Gog and Magog Invasion will occur before the Seventieth Week, or before the Abomination of Desolation makes absolutely no sense at all when one reads the verses you have presented on this video. But about Gog being the Antichrist I have not been able to be as sure as you are. Your arguments are really good, and for those same reasons I have thought that Gog might be the Beast of Revelation. But I have this problem: Ezequiel 36 says that Gog will be buried on the Valley of Hamon-Gog: Eze 39:11: And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog. While on Reveletion 19:20 it said the the Antichrist will be cast “alive” to the Lake of Fire Rev 19:20: And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And here is my principal question: how do we understand this problem? As Second Theselonias also says that Jesús will kill the man of sin 2 Th 2:8: “And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming” Is Gog / Antichrist killed when Jesus returns or cast alive to the Lake of Fire? What about the deadly wound of Rev 13?: And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death. It it possible that Ezequiel 38 and 39 speaks of the invading force lead by the Antichrist that Invades Jerusalem at the middle of the 70th Week when he puts the Abomination of Desolation as described in Daniel 11:31? : “His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation. Is it possible that the scope of Ezequiel’s Prophecy refers to the first invasion? And what about the verses that speak of the Medes, another nation of the North-East that will destroy Babylon as described in Isaiah 13 and Jeremiah 51. Ezekiel mentions the battle of Gog and Magog and its never mentioned again until the end of the Thousand Year Reign, near word for word. The battle of Armageddon doesn't take place until the end of the Tribulation period, so any major war going on right before the start of the Tribulation period is not mentioned by any name in Scripture.
Really don’t follow this. Gog mentioned in Revelation 20,8 is mentioned as a place and the Greek word used here is associated with a Hebrew word meaning to be clothed with. How is it then in verse Revelation 8 verse 10 it says the beast and the false prophet ( not Gog) are thrown into the lake of fire?

Here’s what they’re doing: they’re taking their congregation thru Satan’s fury (what they used to call the tribulation), and telling them they’ll be raptured immediately after the Sixth Seal just before God’s wrath is vented (the Day of the Lord). Thus, they’re now labeling God’s Wrath as ‘the Tribulation’ so they can be raptured out before that, and still call themselves PreTrib. Basically, they’re adopting the PreWrath view, only changing the nomenclature so they can say, “See, PreTrib was right all along!”
Right, and God would save the world, pull them up in the rapture after he saved them, only to come down with them? Why bother going up? In fact, how can a post trib rapture even happen if Jesus comes back with his saved yet is there before the end. LOL Notice "GOD'S WRATH". Notice 1 Thes 5:9. We aren't appointed to God's wrath. Revelation is all about God's wrath. It is he who is making and declaring war on Satan, not the reverse. Even in Genesis after Adam and Eve sinned, GOD declared war, not Satan!
Joel, you don't understand what is being referred to in Ezekiel 39 about God's name no longer being profaned. There is a background to the meaning, based on Israel being exiled into the nations, beginning in the days when they had gotten into idol worship. In Ezekiel 36, God's name was profaned - in the text - when Israel was exiled into the nations - because it made it look like God was unable to defend them against their enemies. In Ezekiel 39, in the end times, God shows that He is able to defend Israel against all enemies. Ezekiel 39 has to be understood in context of Ezekiel 36. Please read Ezekiel 36, verse 20 - "These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land." It is a saying questioning God's ability to defend His people. 19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them. 20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land. 21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went. 22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. 23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

I respectfully don’t agree. Ezekiel 39, 40-43 talk about the rebuilt temple and starting up the ritual sacrifices that Daniel says the Antichrist will put an end to.
Listening to Joel Richardson on this matter is like breathing a breath of fresh air, when it comes to end time eschatology on this subject. Joel nailed it on so many levels. I've been watching and listening to his teaching for decades. Ever since he came out with the book with Walid Shoebat God's war on Terror. Than afterwards his book the Islamic Anti christ was excellently done. I've got all of joels DVDS and books. He's well schooled on these topics and I fully agree with Him on 99 percent of what he teaches. I wholly recommend anyone who's serious about learning on End time eschatology would be wise to follow Joel Trumpet and the underground youtube channel.

The problem with the idea that Gog is the Antichrist is the Bible confirms he is not. Revelation 20:7-10 make it clear that Gog is gathered by Satan AFTER the 1000 year reign of Christ. While we know the beast, which is referred to by Joel as the Antichrist, is thrown into the lake of firm BEFORE the 1000 years start. Gog and Magog are referred to in Revelation 20 as the "nations" that are gathered together by Satan for battle and Gog and Magog are referred to as being numbered as the sand of the sea, meaning pretty dang large number. Gog, the beast, the Antichrist all largely misunderstood due to centuries of false teaching in Western "Christian churches".

Gog is not the Antichrist. The Antichrist is found in Genesis 49:16,17, Nahum 1:11, John 5:43. Gog from the land of Magog is the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 is the beginning of the 7 year tribulation and Zechariah 12:9-11 is this end of the 7 year tribulation. This is so clear.
There are many similarities between these two characters and these two battles. I just have a few questions. If Gog is the Antichrist shouldn’t he be cast alive into the lake of fire along with the false prophet at the end of the battle of Armageddon? Yet Ezekiel 39:11 says that Gog is buried in Israel. Also, Gog seems to be coming against Israel in Ezekiel 39 while the Antichrist has already ruled over Israel for 42 months before the battle of Armageddon even begins. And the Antichrist seems to be gathering his forces along with the armies of the other nations to battle Jesus and his followers, not Israel. Any thoughts?

Joel what are your thoughts on Apocrypha? I get Christianity had to take what they could get with Constantine and what a blessing to stop Christianity being crucified. Re the timing of the invasion of Israel by Gog. We read in verses 10-11 & 14-16 of Ch 38 that it will be when Israel's villages are un-walled and Israel will be living in please and safety. Question. When will this be? Because it's not now. So we have to be looking for this as a starting point, that Israel is going to be at peace, safety and with un-walled villages.

In Revelation 19:20 it says that the Antichrist will be thrown ALIVE into the lake of fire and burning sulfur with the false prophet. Gog is exactly who the Bible says that he is in Ezekiel 38:2 a prince who rules over nations. Isn't it more plausible that Gog is a prince appointed by Satan or the Antichrist to rule over his nation of armies just like Christ would appoint his royal priesthood to rule over nations in Luke 19:15-27? Or Rev 19 is literal where the soul of the Antichrist is immediately thrown into the lake of fire and Ezekiel is describing his flesh being buried for the second death? I'm asking because I don't know.

Well if you read the bible you will not find Jesus… The bible accounts for around 1% of the total story of which is massively unreliable. There are some 10,000 Christian books outside the Bible… The bible is a cherry picked and messed up narrative as it is a mere echo of what it once was due to 1000s of years of translation, deletions, insertions, rewrites, errors. The truest forms of Christianity are in the discovered ancient texts not the bible. Infact it’s very much accepted by scholars one of the closest books you can get to Jesus, is through the Nag Hammadi. Nearly all Christians deem it heresy as they’re just ignorant and happy to restrict themselves, losing them the ability to find the true Jesus. You’ll notice very quickly it’s clearly Jesus speaking. But it is a vastly different Jesus, it’s the true unedited, unchanged Jesus. The Nag Hammadi Library, The Gnostic Gospels. (Meyer and Elaine Pagels) You might also be interested in The Urantia Books. A fascinating set of 190+ books, some 2300 pages of unbelievable details of God, the Universe and the entire life of Jesus Christ, year by year.
Rev. 20 obviously describes a different war that occurs after the millennium. Rev 19 describes the war when Jesus returns to reign. Is it the same as the Ez war? The motives expressed are different. In Ez, Gog has economic motives, in Rev, the beast comes to fight against Christ. In Rev 19 the Beast was taken alive to be tormented and then the rest were slain but in Ezekiel they are all slain and buried. Ezekiel mentions a huge earthquake but Revelation speaks of Jesus returning personally to slay with the sword. Furthermore, if the Antichrist is in the temple defiling it, he will have control over Jerusalem and not need to attack it from the north. Rev 19 does not say where the Antichrist troops are gathered and they are composed of the nations of the kings of the earth, not just those near Israel. His name not being profaned could refer to the people of Israel who have learned their lesson and no longer profane God. Hiding his face is a metaphor because he was never seen by Israel. He will pour out his Spirit on the Jews but that doesn’t mean that he will be physically present. Finally you translate Ez 38:17 incorrectly by adding a “not”. It's “ Are you the one?” The answer could also be “No, that one will come later”. Mainly I’m trying to point out that everything does not line up perfectly for any theory among all the prophecies. I believe Russia will play a role in end time Israel battles but there is always the possibility that it may not have been foretold clearly in prophecy. Let's keep an open mind as things unfold.

Yet, Scripture teaches that Antichrist is a "sea beast," which, according to Daniel (7:3) a "beast which rises out of the sea" is an EMPIRE!

I've been studying Ez. 38-39, and had just reached the same conclusion! There are many more points as well... one that jumped out to me today: God knocks the bow out of Gog's hand. The Antichrist is carrying a bow in Revelation 6.

In my Hebrew Bible set in the book of prophets the commentary recalls Genesis 1 the creation to Ezekiel 20 , which are s a beautiful way to look at it. Also Linking Gog with the cosmic upheavals at the end of days. Even though this set of Hebrew bibles does not agree with end time prophecy as we do, it still a very important learning tool for me to get a peek into the views of the Hebrew commentary.
And he has fulfilled that because we all sing the same song and there's a joy in my heart that no man or beast ever take away. ALHUMDULILLAH I was raised a Christian and then the son of Mary brought me to the truth it is a joy and happiness that you can never take away from me
Another reason to truly question the idea that Gog is the Antichrist is that Gog is called a Chief Prince more than once in Ezekiel 38 and we see that Michael is also called a Chief Prince in scripture as well. Is it possible Gog is a fallen angel? It is possible Gog is the Chief Prince of Tubal, etc. meaning he is the spirit being that is running the show in those regions? It could make sense since Gog is around for what appears to be 1000's of years in scripture.

I am learning a lot from you brothers. I was first called to faith mostly through a PCA church back in 1980. I started putting Scripture texts to music. I then attended Westminster Choir College in Princeton. Ugh, the spirit of that town. I ask you all to pray for me. I have had a rough career and the enemy has sidelined and shamed me. I'm not sure how to proceed.
Please consider my appeal to get Christians singing the Psalms. Just one of those ways is Metrical Psalm singing, in which the text is paraphrased to fit into a repeated melody that people can pick up pretty quickly. Some of you know the Metrical Psalm singing tradition of the Reformed Church.
They have held an 'amillennial' position traditionally, but look folks, they have been singing the Psalms for centuries! Well, this idea of singing the Psalms I would promote, because this very thing will prepare people for the coming days, but the devil has sidelined me.

the same. This is the primary view which I will seek to address in this article. A
small number of Premillennialists also believe that Ezekiel’s Gog prophecy and
Revelation’s Gog prophecy are one and the same. I will also briefly touch on this
view.
First, let’s read the text in Revelation:

distinction between both prophecies.
The first distinction is that the attempted invasion of Revelation’s account is
described as an utter failure. Before the invaders even begin to accomplish their
goals, they are consumed by fire outside of the camp of the saints
. The invasion
described in Ezekiel 38-39, on the other hand is described as anything but a
failure. Consider this very important, but often overlooked detail in Ezekiel’s
account: By the time that Ezekiel’s Gog Magog invasion is defeated, a majority ofthe people of Israel are described as captives, essentially prisoners of war in the
land of their enemies.
“And the house of Israel will know that I am the LORD their God from that
day onward. The nations will know that the house of Israel went intoexile
for their iniquity because they acted treacherously against Me, and I hid
My face from them; so I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and

The second distinction between Ezekiel’s Gog account and Revelation’s is
that Revelation’s invaders do not even enter, “the camp of the saints,” but are
devoured by fire as they merely surround the camp. On the other hand, the
invaders of Ezekiel are destroyed throughout the actual land of Israel. These
distinctions are not insignificant.
Why then the similarity of names? In my opinion, by the time of the writing
of the Book of Revelation in the 1st century, the term Gog and Magog had
become a well-known motif, similar to the common use of “armageddon” or
“apocalypse” today. We might say for example something like, “It was a financial
armageddon on Wall Street today.” This has nothing to do however, with the
valley of Meggiddo in Israel. Such an expression simply points to nearly any
great catastrophe. Because Ezekiel 38 and 39 was essentially the greatest
prophetic passage in the Old Testament concerning the final Satanic invasion of
Israel, it was what we may very rightly call, “the Armageddon of the Old
Testament.” The phrase “Gog and Magog” simply came to be understood as a
massive Satanic-led invasion or attack of God’s people in Jerusalem. So the Gog
and Magog motif simply points to any massive effort by Satan to gather his
hordes and attack to Israel. The Gog and Magog of Ezekiel 38-39 and the Gog
and Magog of Revelation 20 however, cannot be one and the same. Not only are
they clearly separated by a thousand years, but as we already highlighted, their
respective attacks have drastically different results. One is utterly successful, the
other is an abysmal failure. While Ezekiel is referring to the Antichrist and the
events that take place just prior to the Millennium, Revelation 20:7-9 is exactly
what it says it is; a very brief event that takes place at the conclusion of the
Millennium, one final effort by Satan to do what he had already failed to do just
before being chained and cast into the abyss for a thousand years.

Ezekiel’s Gog Magog event takes place at the end of the thousand year reign.
The primary argument made is that Ezekiel describes Israel living with such a
sense of security that it could only refer to Israel during the millennial reign of

In that day, when my people Israel are living in safety, will you not take
notice of it? You will come from your place in the far north, you and many
nations with you; a mighty army. You will advance against my people
Israel like a cloud that covers the land. I am against you, O Gog, chief
prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you around and drag you along. I
will bring you from the far north and send you against the mountains of
Israel. (Ezekiel 38:14-16; 39:1-3)
This perspective is, in my opinion, untenable and cannot be reconciled with
the testimony of Scripture. First, let’s begin by observing that Israel is not truly
secure. They are living in fact, in a false state of security. Notice that Gog plans
on attacking a people who are described as “unsuspecting”:
You will say, I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a
peaceful and unsuspecting people all of them living without walls and
without gates and bars. (Ezekiel 38:12, 13)
I believe the issue of Israel living “securely” is merely a perceived sense of
security. Consider the fact that the Israelites are about to be invaded. So are they
truly living securely or merely living with a relative sense of security? If a person
is sleeping securely in their bed and seven murderous and well-armed thieves
are only moments away from breaking into the house to rob and kill, can it truly be said that the unsuspecting person sleeping is secure? Or it is merely a
perceived security? Such is the precisely the case with Israel in Ezekiel’s
prophecy.
I would also argue that while the Israel of today fully recognizes that
various threats surround them, they are not presently suspecting any massive
military invasion from a foreign nation. The sense in Israel is one of relative
security. It is difficult not to see Ezekiel’sdescription of Israel as anything other
than the Israel of today:
“After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come
into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have
been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had
been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations,
and they are living securely, all of them.” (Ezekiel 38:8)
The Israel that Ezekiel describes is a people who have been gathered from
many nations. They resettled the land which had formerly been a continual
waste. And they are living securely. Now consider the fact that the Scriptures
inform us that the Antichrist will lull Israel into a false state of security through
deception,specifically for the purpose of invading the land:
He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior.
When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against
the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.
(Daniel 8:25)
He will invade the kingdom when its people feel secure, and he will seize
it through intrigue. (Daniel 11:21)
When the richest provinces feel secure, he will invade them and will
achieve what neither his fathers nor his forefathers did. He will distribute
plunder, loot and wealth among his followers. He will plot the overthrow of
fortresses-but only for a time. (Daniel 11:24)
So we have seen that the method and scheme of the Antichrist is exactly
that of Gog. When the people feel secure, then he will invade them. This is
simply because they are simply one and the same individual.
The dead in Christ and we who are alive meet the Lord in the air and so forever will be with the Lord

While I can see that this makes sense, is Armageddon different than Ezek 39? Gog is given a burial place in Israel (Ezek 39:11) but the AntiChrist is thrown alive into the firey lake of burning sulfur (Rev 19:20)

In Ezekiel the concerned nations invade to plunder the resources, whereas the intention at Armageddon is to wipe Israel out entirely. Another difference is that in Ezek. a limited number of nations are involved, but at Armageddon ALL the nations gather around Israel

I can see the duality of Ezekiel 38 and Revelation 20:7-8.
Remember, Israel, on the morning of being invaded by gog from his land in the north, Israel will be surrounded on ALL SIDES, then the first day of the second half of the seven year period Israel is invaded, by gog of Magog.
So it is in Revelation 20:7-8 the same scenario is played out, once again Israel is surrounded on ALL SIDES, and the saying.
"Gog of Magog is made once again, almost like a "remember" statement for us to recall this has happened before, the one constant is Satan, Satan is there on BOTH, the first invasion, and the second attempted invasion, even though the first "Gog of Magog" (in the flesh) is already in the lake of fire.

This makes more sense than the more popular position, that what is going on with Russia right now could be the start of their move against Israel, hence the Gog of Magog war. But i had the same questions: How can this NOT be the final battle, since the Lord would be made known in an undeniable way to the nations as God, and the types of things that He uses, rain, hailstones, fire , sulfur, etc? So does the antichrist then come, and fool the nations, after God has made His Name known, caused earthquakes, etc?

The Idea that the Gog and Magog Invasion will occur before the Seventieth Week, or before the Abomination of Desolation makes absolutely no sense at all when one reads the verses you have presented on this video. But about Gog being the Antichrist I have not been able to be as sure as you are. Your arguments are really good, and for those same reasons I have thought that Gog might be the Beast of Revelation. But I have this problem: Ezequiel 36 says that Gog will be buried on the Valley of Hamon-Gog:
Eze 39:11: And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.
While on Reveletion 19:20 it said the the Antichrist will be cast “alive” to the Lake of Fire

Is Gog / Antichrist killed when Jesus returns or cast alive to the Lake of Fire? What about the deadly wound of Rev 13?: And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death.

Is it possible that the scope of Ezequiel’s Prophecy refers to the first invasion? And what about the verses that speak of the Medes, another nation of the North-East that will destroy Babylon as described in Isaiah 13 and Jeremiah 51. Can these be the Kings of the East and at the sme time the ten horns?

I believe that Daniel 9:27 is speaking about Jesus Christ not AC. The Abomination of Desolation has already taken place in 70 AD.
As of yet, I believe the 10 kings/horns are in Psalms 83

Ezekiel mentions the battle of Gog and Magog and its never mentioned again until the end of the Thousand Year Reign, near word for word.
The battle of Armageddon doesn't take place until the end of the Tribulation period, so any major war going on right before the start of the Tribulation period is not mentioned by any name in Scripture.
Really don’t follow this. Gog mentioned in Revelation 20,8 is mentioned as a place and the Greek word used here is associated with a Hebrew word meaning to be clothed with. How is it then in verse Revelation 8 verse 10 it says the beast and the false prophet ( not Gog) are thrown into the lake of fire?

Here’s what they’re doing: they’re taking their congregation thru Satan’s fury (what they used to call the tribulation), and telling them they’ll be raptured immediately after the Sixth Seal just before God’s wrath is vented (the Day of the Lord). Thus, they’re now labeling God’s Wrath as ‘the Tribulation’ so they can be raptured out before that, and still call themselves PreTrib. Basically, they’re adopting the PreWrath view, only changing the nomenclature so they can say, “See, PreTrib was right all along!”

Right, and God would save the world, pull them up in the rapture after he saved them, only to come down with them? Why bother going up? In fact, how can a post trib rapture even happen if Jesus comes back with his saved yet is there before the end. LOL Notice "GOD'S WRATH". Notice 1 Thes 5:9. We aren't appointed to God's wrath. Revelation is all about God's wrath. It is he who is making and declaring war on Satan, not the reverse. Even in Genesis after Adam and Eve sinned, GOD declared war, not Satan!
Joel, you don't understand what is being referred to in Ezekiel 39 about God's name no longer being profaned. There is a background to the meaning, based on Israel being exiled into the nations, beginning in the days when they had gotten into idol worship.
In Ezekiel 36, God's name was profaned - in the text - when Israel was exiled into the nations - because it made it look like God was unable to defend them against their enemies. In Ezekiel 39, in the end times, God shows that He is able to defend Israel against all enemies. Ezekiel 39 has to be understood in context of Ezekiel 36.
Please read Ezekiel 36, verse 20 - "These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land." It is a saying questioning God's ability to defend His people.
19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.

I respectfully don’t agree. Ezekiel 39, 40-43 talk about the rebuilt temple and starting up the ritual sacrifices that Daniel says the Antichrist will put an end to.
Listening to Joel Richardson on this matter is like breathing a breath of fresh air, when it comes to end time eschatology on this subject. Joel nailed it on so many levels. I've been watching and listening to his teaching for decades. Ever since he came out with the book with Walid Shoebat God's war on Terror. Than afterwards his book the Islamic Anti christ was excellently done. I've got all of joels DVDS and books. He's well schooled on these topics and I fully agree with Him on 99 percent of what he teaches. I wholly recommend anyone who's serious about learning on End time eschatology would be wise to follow Joel Trumpet and the underground youtube channel.

The problem with the idea that Gog is the Antichrist is the Bible confirms he is not. Revelation 20:7-10 make it clear that Gog is gathered by Satan AFTER the 1000 year reign of Christ. While we know the beast, which is referred to by Joel as the Antichrist, is thrown into the lake of firm BEFORE the 1000 years start. Gog and Magog are referred to in Revelation 20 as the "nations" that are gathered together by Satan for battle and Gog and Magog are referred to as being numbered as the sand of the sea, meaning pretty dang large number. Gog, the beast, the Antichrist all largely misunderstood due to centuries of false teaching in Western "Christian churches".

Good video. I have a couple questions. I know the Bible says the Jewish people are his people and they will all be saved at the end. Does this include the jews who have previously died and denied Jesus? And 2nd question Is there a specific section that says why the Jews are favored so much more than the rest of us? There are many similarities between these two characters and these two battles. I just have a few questions. If Gog is the Antichrist shouldn’t he be cast alive into the lake of fire along with the false prophet at the end of the battle of Armageddon? Yet Ezekiel 39:11 says that Gog is buried in Israel. Also, Gog seems to be coming against Israel in Ezekiel 39 while the Antichrist has already ruled over Israel for 42 months before the battle of Armageddon even begins. And the Antichrist seems to be gathering his forces along with the armies of the other nations to battle Jesus and his followers, not Israel. Any thoughts?

Joel what are your thoughts on Apocrypha? I get Christianity had to take what they could get with Constantine and what a blessing to stop Christianity being crucified. But...they had to condemn portions of our Religion and label it Pagan or Gnostic. Can't we bring that official Christianity verses and books and gospels and all nowadays? We're not under threat of death by Roman's nowadays, right?

Re the timing of the invasion of Israel by Gog. We read in verses 10-11 & 14-16 of Ch 38 that it will be when Israel's villages are un-walled and Israel will be living in please and safety. Question. When will this be? Because it's not now. So we have to be looking for this as a starting point, that Israel is going to be at peace, safety and with un-walled villages.

In Revelation 19:20 it says that the Antichrist will be thrown ALIVE into the lake of fire and burning sulfur with the false prophet. Gog is exactly who the Bible says that he is in Ezekiel 38:2 a prince who rules over nations. Isn't it more plausible that Gog is a prince appointed by Satan or the Antichrist to rule over his nation of armies just like Christ would appoint his royal priesthood to rule over nations in Luke 19:15-27? Or Rev 19 is literal where the soul of the Antichrist is immediately thrown into the lake of fire and Ezekiel is describing his flesh being buried for the second death? I'm asking because I don't know.

Rev. 20 obviously describes a different war that occurs after the millennium. Rev 19 describes the war when Jesus returns to reign. Is it the same as the Ez war? The motives expressed are different. In Ez, Gog has economic motives, in Rev, the beast comes to fight against Christ. In Rev 19 the Beast was taken alive to be tormented and then the rest were slain but in Ezekiel they are all slain and buried. Ezekiel mentions a huge earthquake but Revelation speaks of Jesus returning personally to slay with the sword.
Furthermore, if the Antichrist is in the temple defiling it, he will have control over Jerusalem and not need to attack it from the north. Rev 19 does not say where the Antichrist troops are gathered and they are composed of the nations of the kings of the earth, not just those near Israel.
His name not being profaned could refer to the people of Israel who have learned their lesson and no longer profane God.
Hiding his face is a metaphor because he was never seen by Israel. He will pour out his Spirit on the Jews but that doesn’t mean that he will be physically present.
Finally you translate Ez 38:17 incorrectly by adding a “not”. It's “ Are you the one?” The answer could also be “No, that one will come later”.
Mainly I’m trying to point out that everything does not line up perfectly for any theory among all the prophecies. I believe Russia will play a role in end time Israel battles but there is always the possibility that it may not have been foretold clearly in prophecy. Let's keep an open mind as things unfold.
