Hello there ,i have just upgraded to Bose speakers in my r170 and i will install a compact Kenwood amplifier Kac-m1814 behind the asr alarm button .I will report back in a few days .
Due to many years of exposure to the sun, some plastic supports that hold the protective covers under the steering wheel and above the pedals have broken. I can not find them used. I probably need to find all the covers. Do you believe in ebay ?? Thanks. Your video is very informative.
I really appreciate this video. I need to do this on mine. However (and I realize you deliberately did this for video time and production) I would have actually appreciated watching the actual removal of each screw and the “fiddling” that was required along the way….
hey, thank for the comment, yeah, I don't really have all the fancy camera gear to work with 2 hands on film, hence the short-cuts. The fiddling is a farce, admittedly.
Yes thats fine, but invariable now on a 20 yr old car, these trim pieces are all cracked and broken. Im just warning u it will not be so easy putting them back in !! Ive worked on 3 slks this past year and all of them had cracked centre console, glove box and dash trim under steering wheel.
these ones seemed fine, not in the best of shape but good enough to re-wrap. True, not the newest but otherwise one can get some from the junk yard or sth.
Why do people explain "why" you might want to do that the video explains? If I opened the video, I already know "why" I am here - what I want to know is "how."
Holy crap! I've been looking everwhere for how to remove the connectors in the pastic trim! Thank you!
Glad it was of use!
I might switch mine out for the wood items from the V6, if I can find one in a scrap yard or on ebay.
