Yeah, I tried to change the reverse bulb (bottom bulb) from inside the boot...got it out, couldn't get it back in, had to remove the whole unit as demonstrated, what a carry-on!

TheExStig i have mini r60 I change the break bulb back and I can get it in easy than this but this is a great video

I managed it without taking it apart. Was probably quicker to take it apart though 😂

Thanks once again for this video and others on the Mini that have been invaluable in keeping me from pulling my hair out with all the MIL warnings that you get with a Mini. I agree that this is a better way to do it than trying to reach from the inside as the owner's manual suggests. At best you can get out two of the four without removing the whole unit, but near impossible to return back properly unless you hand is two inches wide and 2 feet long.

I hear you. I just watched this to fix a loose brake light bulb. Every time I try to pop off these plastic bits they break. The damn bulb holder had melted a bit and didn't want to come open.
Went to replace the valve cover gasket, and even though my mechanic warned me to be careful I cracked the plastic valve cover and had to buy a new one.
Mini: fun as hell to drive, but flimsy and made of plastic.

You can reach all bulbs from inside the trunk. You don’t have to remove the entire assembly!
