These neighborhoods may not be best but these people are the salt of the Earth. I worked in a small grocery store years ago near these neighborhoods. When our home burned to the ground two weeks before Christmas the community donated close to a thousand dollars out of their own pocket. These folks were already struggling but because we worked in the community for so long we became family. I will never forget that kindness.

Are there any cities or towns in the USA that don’t have boarded up houses and garbage piles? I’m in Alberta Canada and there is not one street in my city that looks like these places.
Sad to say our city and other cities need a revamp in the worse way imaginable! Streets that are "privately owned" by multiple parties that need fixing fall to the owners of homes or apartment owners who can hardly afford to fix their own places up. Most of the time due to Section 8 and low-income housing people pay the barest of minimums to rent places down here. Add to everything else a failing economy that is making life difficult to live anywhere at all. The whole country is like this. Some decent people around that try to do some good but are so overwhelmed at the thought of what is needed nothing gets done. My husband and I lived in the apartment building you saw at the very start of this video. Vaughn Towers. Now we live in a cleaner and safer area. Be safe driving through some areas.
There's always a way out of poverty , education , treatment for addiction , moving to a better place , working on the cause of poverty , and making ones life better .
@@265hemi7 Sounds good in theory. For those this is all they have known what then? I think this country should require all 18 year olds to do two years community service. First time in Dothan? Lol. I'm white as fuck and would walk straight threw any of these neighborhoods. We get along in the south no matter your color. Unless there's a good reason to not get along. You should come see the hoods of Ashford, Al where I live. Lmao.
@Charliebo313 you be going to all these smaller cities in other states but go to the ones in Louisiana and Louisiana has the worse crime rate/murder rate in the entire nation. I’m not understanding
Born and raised in Dothan, Alabama. Lived in Ussery projects for years as the only white family in the neighborhood. Learned a lot from that experience, including how to fight and how to live my life so my future family would never have to live that way. Joined the Army straight out of school, did about 6 years in the service. Now I'm a college grad with 2 degrees. I still live in Dothan, just on the good side of town these days.
A lot of the area you were driving through was white until the 1950s. When one black family would move in all the houses would go up for sale and people moved to the south side (Cloverdale) or the west side (now called garden district, but that term was never used back then. Sullivan and Charlton Drives, N. Cherokee, Denton Road, etc., were all nice affordable segregated white areas so blacks had no choice but to take the old houses the white people sold and moved out. Then came the school decline. No private schools until the year Judge Johnson FORCED integration, then about 5 private schools sprang up, most containing the name “Christian” or “academy.” Now there is a derisive term in sociology called “segregation academy.” It took 50 years but finallly they destroyed the public schools. (I mean the white people by moving and disassociating themselves completely with public education.) So now a lot of the drainage and water systems are failing even in the nicer areas because the white people refuse to raise taxes. So now they’re moving halfway to Enterprise. Sad.
I do seem small houses, but at least there aren’t any homeless camps filled with drug addicts! I’m sure all people here get along. Not a lot of crime, and murders like California, NY, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, Minnesota, and all those others states that condone violence. Please realize, there is I big difference between areas with small homes and towns that have to deal with chaos.
Wow! I know of this city and most of downtown Dothan is run down. The people that live in Government housing and live on welfare are not thankful. They act entitled. People that live like this also come to the north side of town and are making it look trashy also. It's the welfare community!!! Teach these people nothing is free and work for what you eat and they would respect where they live and.... other parts of the city. No one owes them anything but love, and maybe they'd care more about where they live. I was at Walmart on the NORTHSIDE of Dothan and disrespectful people just throw their trash out and leave it in the parking lot. If we would stop being cowards, and stand up for our beautiful part of the country, then pigs that like living in a pigsty would clean up after themselves. If we would stop accepting their food stamps in every store, then maybe they would stay on their side of town and keep it as messy as they like. People that live like this RUIN a whole city! I don't mean poor people, you can be poor and have respect. They aren't taught respect. They're ignorant and angry!!!!!!!
You are in the actual hood, those houses need to be torn down. There was a black commissioner for years that had many slum, falling apart houses and they told him to get them fixed or tear them down. He fought them for awhile but I believe most of them are still there. I don't know what happened to him. I volunteer at Living Hope downtown behind the post office and there is a two story house that someone started to fix next to us (we tried to buy it to help the homeless) but the homeless caught it on fire cooking meth and it is still there years later partially burned. It's an eyesore like many other old businesses and houses.
I work in some of theses areas of Dothan. It’s not dangerous most people here are friendly. This area of Dothan is old. It’s getting better. Just give it a little time. Very rare for shooting or murder. It overcast the day he shot this video so it seems gloomy.
Lots of practise for Dothan Fire Department. Then a couple of days of Dothan citizens helping to clean up. It may help clean up the human trafficking and help keep the drug problem in check. Gotta start somewhere.
I also live in Alabama and this is just another hood. There just showing pics of everywhere in bama. Well unless you live beside the University of Alabama like i do then its real nice but go just outside of UA and it's the same as this. But were tougher for it an don't need anyone pitty. That sounded like a clip being loaded while you was riding through the projects lol.
Right after I said Alabama too country for hoods you posted that shit 💯😂
334. It's ROUGH!!!
I live in Dothan and this video is FALSE
Charlie, you have been doing this for years. That is what you do- showcase or highlight- the worst, most violent areas of these United States. A question bro. Doesn't it bother you that ALL of these places you show are Black people? It doesn't matter where you are- East Coast, West Coast...Chicago, Atlanta. Miami to Houston. Everywhere you show us bro? Black people. I think this would bother me bro, if I did this and "my people" were all I showed having social and economic problems. I think this is sad. Great job bro. As usual.
You on point bro. I'm curious to know the answer to that with myself
@@warrickburney197 you vote for the government you deserve. Blacks vote Democrat and they get no jobs, bigger government. More debt. Inflation, but hey Trump was the boogeyman to the black man.

Great observation! what you see and the answer to change this 'PLIGHT" of the so called 'Black" "Men, 'Women and Children ALL over the Earth is written in Deuteronomy Chapter 27 and Deuteronomy Chapter 28 which speaks about the Blessing and the "Curses" that would come upon these so called "Blak"people if the fail to listen, trust, obey and Keep the Holy Laws, Statutes, Judgement and Commandments given to them ONLY by Moses from The Most High God who were the GOD of their Fathers Abraham, Issac and Jacob whom Name was change by The MOST HIGH to Yisrah"El.

The aboriginal american Indians and the people of Mexico, South America and the Caribbean, ATLANTIC & PACIFIC Islands are also the children of JACOB( YISRAH'EL) and one of the 12 TRIBES that was scatter thru-out the 4 corners of the Earth for Not Keeping The MOST HIGH Laws & Commandments. When you get a moment read Deuteronomy Chapter 28.
The people that are ruling the world and LIVING LARGE 'Know" exactly who these people are and why they are under the curse and are getting RICH & laughing all the way to the Bank because the so called Blak people won't accept you they truly are and return back to the GOD of their Fathers and Keep His Laws and Commandments..

What exactly is the point in riding through these lower income neighborhoods passing judgment on those just trying to do the best they can? No they don't have a new primer gray charger like you. Of which looks suspiciously like the one that ran from DPD a couple nights ago. While your driving around in that dodge you might want to do something to protect that park release strap otherwise it might go bye-bye without you.
Charlie, U sleep on VA bruh. I've been askin 4 dem VA vids, where dey at bruh???
this is one side of dothan , east side looks like this throughout honestly, west south all have sides that look rugged. north side is the most proper side of town. but tbh its not bad here, bunch wanna be gansgter fraudsters is all. and alot of old heads stuck in the past other than that sweet home alabama
I went to flight school at Ft. Rucker just outside of Dothan in 1978. The people were nice and friendly.
Most of us still are
Cleaner than some inner cities
Are there any cities or towns in the USA that don’t have boarded up houses and garbage piles? I’m in Alberta Canada and there is not one street in my city that looks like these places.
Yea he going to bad parts that why
Next time come to Shawnee, Siminole, Pauls Valley. ALL in Oklahoma.
Sir just wow thank you
Dothan omg is so great they only highlight the bad parts
I love Dothan Al, I'm never leaving here. I'm here to stay.
Financial status does not equal honor and integrity. In my experience its the opposite.
Hey Charlie, you must clock up some mileage? All the best mate.
Mate ! G'day I'm in Australia as well ! .👌👍
I’ve been in Alabama & with many of these places the issue is extreme poverty. Breaks my heart.
There's always a way out of poverty , education , treatment for addiction , moving to a better place , working on the cause of poverty , and making ones life better .
@@265hemi7 Sounds good in theory. For those this is all they have known what then?
I think this country should require all 18 year olds to do two years community service. Assisting with disaster relief, clearing debris whatever & wherever needed. Learn self reliance, compassion for others & a sense of self that so many do not have.
@@265hemi7 I'm confused. How's one supposed to get an education, treatment, and move without money? It's like saying, "if you're homeless, just buy a house".
Dothan and Seattle are like 2 diff worlds
I been to Dothan a couple times it seems like everyone is very nice and friendly not like everybody said. I stay at one of the cheapest hotel in Dothan and the services was way better than the 4stare hotel I stayed before.
You just riding and dont know where you at
I work in dothan. You do what ya gotta do.i bet the rent is high too. Be thankful for any roof over your head.help your neighbor.
I see Money!! If only people with Money buy these homes and turn them into forever homes
I lived around this neighborhood all my childhood it had it rough times but ine thing about the people stuck together and helped when need it
First time in Dothan? Lol. I'm white as fuck and would walk straight threw any of these neighborhoods. We get along in the south no matter your color. Unless there's a good reason to not get along. You should come see the hoods of Ashford, Al where I live. Lmao.
U wont walk chinook 700block on the westside 😂
@Charliebo313 you be going to all these smaller cities in other states but go to the ones in Louisiana and Louisiana has the worse crime rate/murder rate in the entire nation. I’m not understanding
Alabama isn’t any better
I live in Dothan and never seen these parts of dothan 😬😂
Sad.
Saludos ✌🏻
I do seem small houses, but at least there aren’t any homeless camps filled with drug addicts! I’m sure all people here get along. Not a lot of crime, and murders like California, NY, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, Minnesota, and all those others states that condone violence.
Please realize, there is I big difference between areas with small homes and towns that have to deal with chaos.
I live out here from Ny trust this is not Bad!
The Wiregrass is a great place to live. Every city has a ghetto.
Those big complexes were incredibly clean and tidy.
Dothan is a fun place to party. I know a few girls that like in that first set of homes. Everyone I met there was good people.
It's like a vacation resort in the Netherlands !
They're ignorant and angry!!!!!!!
i just moved to Dothan Are you still in town?
Mom mom grew up some in Dothan. If that’s the worst hood it’s not that bad really.
I live near there, it’s not horrible, just remember it’s legal to carry a gun there
If you think you need a gun, it's horrible.

My Brother, that's ACID PLANT HILL.EASTSIDE. I love my people, from the bricks to the view 🔥
Sweet Home Alabama....
What ??
...you heard !! 😂
I think this is the town where comedians Terry and Melissa live.
Lots of practise for Dothan Fire Department. Then a couple of days of Dothan citizens helping to clean up. It may help clean up the human trafficking and help keep the drug problem in check. Gotta start somewhere.
Maybe paint the houses different colors!? 😅 imo that woould take some mental stress off
I live in Dothan. Not bad place just don't get yourself mixed up with wrong crowd like anywhere else and you good
So much more spread out than Detroit hoods where I’m from
I also live in Alabama and this is just another hood. There just showing pics of everywhere in bama. Well unless you live beside the University of Alabama like i do then its real nice but go just outside of UA and it's the same as this. But were tougher for it an don't need anyone pitty. We handle ours no matter what. Jmo
Thise huts would be knocked down here. Abandoned property is illegal. No footpaths so do you walk on the street or on someones lawn? Strange.
Reminds me of Joe Rogans crazy stripper story from there.
Start looking at the positive and get away from all the negative. You will find more food than you thought possible.
This is the older areas c’mon now you’re in the areas that haven’t been touched in years ,poverty if you will… but since it looks worn down it’s the “hood” ok.
