My aunt and uncle moved from Brentwood to Franklin a few years ago after they both retired. They are happily living in Westhaven and are glad to be out of the Nashville traffic.
Thank you! Living in Franklin for 6 years and we love it! Still need to visit couple of those attractions which you have mentioned - didn’t find time yet.
I moved to Colorado Springs from LA last year and I did not like it. Moved to Denver this year and and I still don’t like it haha 😅 maybe it’s just Colorado. I’m thinking about Nashville Tennessee since I recently got a job offer in Brentwood. Would you say you enjoy Nashville more than Colorado Springs? I’m a huge foody, music, and arts person.
I do. I'm a musician and there are so many places to go listen and play here. Colorado holds a place in my heart honestly because I had a family there. Brentwood is the cream of the crop in terms of places to live in the Nashville area. Williamson County is a very wealthy county and when you're here you'll be able to tell. Because you're into food, MUSIC and arts you're going to love it here. It does take a minute to get used to the heat. but we are almost thru that part of the year now tho. I'd suggest coming out for a couple days. That's what I did back in '05. I had some misconceptions to get past. Let me know if you're coming.
Hi , would you have any info on disabled living .. c4 quad .. power Wc driven & especially after my modified van was stolen last month . Nv has changed for the worst - unless you wear dark shades 24/7 to avoid the many after thoughts . We had a para transit that I can use in other states . If the state can’t handle inbound calls - what good is the federally funded transportation I still pay for ?? I heard you mention a car is needed . Would you kindly add what your best & worst weather is ., typical catastrophic events & when ? How is your motor vehicle dept., when can a resident claim TN as home ? Is there a influx of immigrants taking hotel vacancies? Oh .. I took a course via the state rep that came to me / accessed my driving abilities & what endorsements/ equipment I needed to drive . I took the state driving test using her modified van & my own once I settled with the huge manufacturer that had a sales rep in a simple procedure .. he knew his chosen device had no cervical patent.. 20 yrs ago I began life living as a permanent quadriplegic. Leading to .. how are your hospital’s & access to enter , shop while maneuvering a power wheelchair? Do you have a medical supply store locally ? Where is the best place to live , disabled & safely ? I went to Colorado & found a huge lack of access .. small front stoops & garage to house entries just as bad . I have a variety of ramps & door openers . I consider myself A independent quad - I care about my environment & if I can not clean something. .. I will get help . I consider trying as spinal maintenance. It’s not my intent to burden any city - just adapting . How are your sidewalks - bumpy - cobblestones- smooth ? How did TN handle other 2020-2022 ? Were mask mandated? Where might I find the best & safest storage ? WC friendly extended living Cell phone carriers are ?? Is there a new resident resource for my many questions ? I have lived in states that get snow, ice , extreme heat to oh too low below zero . Does Amtrak pass through & any comments ? Any power wheelchair repair shops that also stock new power wheelchairs? How is the water , utility bills , gas pump prices ? Do you have a Costco , sam’s club w/ gas pumps ? Ty Ty & have a great weekend
These are all very good questions. I'll work thru them all and get you all the answers I can. A great new resident resource is this (it's a relocation guide by the chamber, and very good! : s3.amazonaws.com/nashvillechamber.com/PDFs/LiveItGuide2022_Spreads.pdf thanks for reaching out!
Hi Luvaquad, The best weather is spring and fall. Temps are moderate as is the rain. The worst would be ice storms. They occur very rarely but when they Do they essentially stall the city out. As for immigrants, I don’t have direct knowledge but there has been Little to none on the news and if there were an issue I believe we’d be hearing about it. Certainly, the hospitals and shops in Franklin abide by ADA rules and Beyond that, the walkways all seem to have ramps and such. To be honest tho, I don’t pay much attention to that so there may be Weaknesses in the approach to handling WC access I’m not aware of. Sidewalks are overall smooth. Tennessee fought the mandate energetically, but don’t judge those who wear them. There are lots of storage option. There is a UHAUL storage on Mallory lane Franklin/Brentwood Again, I’m not currently fully aware of how places here handle wc access but I am sure they all comply to the ADA rules, so, I’m confident extended living facilities would work for you. A phone call would perhaps put your mind at ease. Hopefully you got the Nashville relocation guide I provided for you. Nashville is the anchor for the area, and it’s a fabulous city. Please know, Nashvilles bread and butter is tourism so I would think It is well prepared for WC access. Cell phone carriers. ATT, T-mobile, Verizon and the pay for play guy. No train support to speak of. None in Williamson county. As for WC repair, I have no idea. Utilities in TN are very reasonable across the board. Gas prices are some of the lowest in the nation. We absolutely have castco and sams club as well as Kroger gas pumps. I use Costco myself, I’d suggest getting there early, it packs out! I want to thank you for your comments and questions. They have made me realize I am sadly uninformed when it comes To ADA issues locally and I’ll will be better moving forward. Thanks for the opportunity to work thru your concerns. Andy

Some areas of Brentwood is really sketch...
😂
if you are a reasonable, thinking person; Franklin. If you're a crazed leftist; Brentwood. You're welcome.
You might be right. I love it here anyway. Thanks for chiming in
