Crazy how a £100k car can be shot to pieces at 70k miles. Mercedes are obviously nice cars to drive and look at but perhaps not to own.
That Merc had been passed around a bunch times by a group of incompetent owners.
If only the original millionare who first bought it had actually kept it
Depends which one you get, my E Class cost nowt and hasn't been a minutes bother.
I’ve a 1999 SL320 and now on 60k miles just used for the weekly shop.

Scotty Kilmer is adamant that Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar/Land Rover are some of the worst cars to own.
Rust is the first thing that comes to my mind when i see Mercedes 😅

Like most people of a certain age, I have a healthy suspicion of dealers (especially main dealers), but as a relatively local (N.Manchester) viewer I'd be quite reassured and relaxed buying from you, Matt. You need to make a profit, but you come across as honest and not likely to stitch you up just to shift the metal.
This episode was the best ever . The cherry on the top . I’m a retired car dealer . I know what the highs and lows are like . I used to console myself with : “if it’s that easy everybody would be doing it “
Matt, great video as always. Purchased a brand new Juke (delivery February 2024 - please don't laugh). Fast delivery, the wife is disabled and she was able to climb in with ease and fall out with grace. We average 1,850 miles each year! I'm keeping the MX5.

An entertaining year. And this really is an example of why being a car dealer is like playing Russian roulette a lot of the time. I hope the monetisation and advertising on the videos helped offset the losses on some of those cars. And thank you for entertaining us all year, I always look forward to a new video coming out.

Love the fact that you started with the F-type! I've just picked up a 2018 model P-340 V6 R-Dynamic manual in Caldera Red for under 30K and I love it! Your review early last year helped me decide it. It took me a year to make the jump from the Mk2 TT.
"Massively overspent" is my phrase of 2023 along with me looking up on Autotrader the cars you feature...
All the best for 2024 Matt, and loving the reggae dub version of your intro music… as a Jag man, I must applaud your choices and for the X type I can only imagine it’s like the old Saab 95 inherited from my father-in-law, there was just something about that car it was such a pleasure to drive. I think I got emotionally attached to it. I still have sellers regret this day.

That moldy old Civic was a cautionary tale about low mileage being deceptive. I would prefer a high mileage but well maintained car any day. Far more likely that many parts will have already been replaced rather than just waiting to fail.
Matt, you say you appreciate your viewers, which is very nice to hear. But we appreciate you! I found your channel at the beginning - some time near the beginning of Covid, I think - and your channel is by far my favorite. I prefer watching your content more than Doug Demuro's or Mike Brewer's (although I watch them, too). Your reviews and presentations are the best, and you are very entertaining and you make me laugh. A real winner in my book. And, we have one thing in common along with our love of cars: we both massively overspend. Keep up the great work!

Really enjoyed binging on your vids recently. I bought a Mk2 TT in November and really got into your channel after rummaging through as many TT videos as I could.
I think for me personally what would be the cherry on top is a close out of what happens to the cars eventually, how long to sell, final price etc.
I own one(2L TSFI 175K kms) nice car,love it,design and power delivers with no compromise ,better than Mk1 ,affordable to maintain,fortunately mine had a full service history i have nt done any major service’s outside filters and oil. Enjoy
@@sibukoyana3246 mine has an exemplary service history and records of preventative maintenance, fresh MOT so fingers crossed for trouble free motoring for a bit anyway.
Mine has the annoying glove box hinge issue and the parcel shelf bracket but I bought new bits to fix these but just not got round to it yet.
@@legobatman8353thats awesome man. Glove box hinge has been reported as a common issue ,fortunately i have not experienced it. Drive that car,drive it hard bcos they are meant for hard driving and keep on maintaining it for its longevity. Enjoy your car,

Enter your daily/weekly vehicle out lay
When you hit your budget
You get a couple of warnings
Then you can proceed with caution

You've had a few lemons that were nothing other than scrap metal, you've overspent and lost money putting some older cars back into good working order (always a pleasure to see), but you have many good cars that make you a profit, and hopefully don't return with issues due to your meticulous preparation before sale. Hopefully the big picture for the year is positive, even with some isolated mistakes. I look forward to seeing more overspending and new number plates in 2024 🎉 congrats on the channel growth this year too 🎉
I love that you've got enough soul to make a mistake with a car purchase now and, then simply because you took a shine to the car. It's much more human and relatable than the way some car dealers view their cars; as purely a means to extract money from punters.
