  • Just a little follow up video on making my version of a re-useable Paper Cartridge Box. I went ahead and did a few things I talked about in the original video, such as setting of stops, fences and jigs to make producing a few of these boxes a little faster, easier and more consistent. They're still not an exact copy of what was used way back in the 1800s, but they're functional and re-useable.

      I had mine done at a Staples store. I have the images on my Small caliber arms review, Facebook page. They may need the dimensions modified to fit properly.

    Standard CW pistol cartridge box was supposed to carry three packages of cartridges. Have you test fit these into any pouch/box?

    • @SmallCaliberArmsReview
      @SmallCaliberArmsReview  Год назад

      I have not. These were made according to some dimensions that were sent to me by an old west enthusiast. They are not meant to be 100% historically accurate, I wanted them to "look the part" and be reusable. Thanks for watching!

    there are label/box printing programs that will allow you to print the labels on your computer (with or without folding lines). Might not be worth the trouble if you only make a couple... but if you ever plan to make several, it could save a lot of time. (Then again, that jig you made works great. Of course I had to comment before watching the whole video. lol.)

      Other than that last little square of paper that I cut off in the end, there is no waste to speak of. I have a huge roll of that paper too.

      @@SmallCaliberArmsReview Works good and they look good. I just meant the time spent if you had to make several. (If I had a black powder revolver I would definitely buy some of these off you if you made them to sell). Don't have one now, but would really like to get an 1858. Hope I can afford one soon).

      I am not talking in this video! (I usually talk too much!) I have not, these are the only ones I have made. Interesting idea though.

    • @SmallCaliberArmsReview
      @SmallCaliberArmsReview  5 месяцев назад

      I want to say 30lb??? I'm not sure, I picked up a 100' roll at Lowes a few years ago. It's used for masking and protecting surfaces. It's not the "Ramboard" though, that stuff is way too heavy.

    • @johnhash6417
      @johnhash6417 5 месяцев назад

      @@SmallCaliberArmsReview Ya, I went to a local print shop, and their stuff was really thick and hard to fold.
