Cartridge Box Production - ASMR(ish) Follow up Video

- Just a little follow up video on making my version of a re-useable Paper Cartridge Box. I went ahead and did a few things I talked about in the original video, such as setting of stops, fences and jigs to make producing a few of these boxes a little faster, easier and more consistent. They're still not an exact copy of what was used way back in the 1800s, but they're functional and re-useable.

Great idea for the centering jig for the stamp. Very creative.
Thank you!
Those are really looking terrific!!
Thanks Santee!
Just realized you did a follow up video. It’s great. I’m gonna make some for 44 & 36. I really like your style box. Reusable.👍🏻
Awesome! Thank you!
Ok, I got to say, I really like your idea of the cardboard sliding sleeve.
Thanks! I wanted to make something that was able to be used over and over again.
Looks really nice Richard.
Thanks 👍
Those look fantastic. Good job
Thank you Sir!
Well done!
Thank you!
Good follow up video.
Thanks 👍
Good episode!
Thank you! I guess this is sort of the abbreviated version of the other one.
Outstanding!
Glad you like it!
That is cool brother.
Thanks Angel!
Now you need to make belt pouch to store some in while you are out shooting!
Yes I do! Thanks for watching!
TOO COOL pard ! 🤠👍👍
Thank you!
Dumb question, but do you sell these?
I have something in the works and they may be available soon. Keep an eye on my community page and I'll let you know soon.
Wonderful job! Where can I get the stamp from?
I had mine done at a Staples store. I have the images on my Small caliber arms review, Facebook page. They may need the dimensions modified to fit properly.
Standard CW pistol cartridge box was supposed to carry three packages of cartridges. Have you test fit these into any pouch/box?
I have not. These were made according to some dimensions that were sent to me by an old west enthusiast. They are not meant to be 100% historically accurate, I wanted them to "look the part" and be reusable. Thanks for watching!
there are label/box printing programs that will allow you to print the labels on your computer (with or without folding lines). Might not be worth the trouble if you only make a couple... but if you ever plan to make several, it could save a lot of time. (Then again, that jig you made works great. Of course I had to comment before watching the whole video. lol.)
Other than that last little square of paper that I cut off in the end, there is no waste to speak of. I have a huge roll of that paper too.
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview Works good and they look good. I just meant the time spent if you had to make several. (If I had a black powder revolver I would definitely buy some of these off you if you made them to sell). Don't have one now, but would really like to get an 1858. Hope I can afford one soon).
@@deucedeuce1572 the 1851 is my favorite.
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview That the .36? ...or the 3rd model?
@@deucedeuce1572 Oh, the .36 for sure!
It's late and I am just watching without audio. Closed caption won't turn on, so I don't know if you're saying anything, but do you ever make more than single row boxes?
I am not talking in this video! (I usually talk too much!) I have not, these are the only ones I have made. Interesting idea though.
One more question: Do you know what weight the Kraft Paper you are using?
I want to say 30lb??? I'm not sure, I picked up a 100' roll at Lowes a few years ago. It's used for masking and protecting surfaces. It's not the "Ramboard" though, that stuff is way too heavy.
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview Ya, I went to a local print shop, and their stuff was really thick and hard to fold.
The roll I bought works very well for the cartridge boxes and I also use it for holster patterns.
👍🏼
Thank you!
Where did you get the stamp?
Staples Office supply store.
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview But what the actual font, style etc? Was it custom made?
It was an online image, staples will make a custom stamp if you supply the image.
Another good video, but I must say you don't talk to much, and in some ways I would miss important information if you didn't talk thanks for all the craft videos.
I did a lot of talking in the original Paper Cartridge Box video, I wanted to change it up a little bit and offer another version of it. Thanks for watching!
