What makes Freddie a great singer is that he will sing as if it's something written by him,but it's a Dr Brian May song,it doesn't matter which one of the group wrote the songs Freddie will always sing it with the same integrity
I can’t believe with all the Queen reactions you’ve done, that you haven’t done this before now, but it’s worth waiting for. It’s a favourite among Queen fans, eargasmic from start to finish.
Beautiful, mystifying song! Queen never disappoints! Freddie wasn't just a class act frontman and genius, he was a beautiful human being inside and out. The same goes for Roger, John and definitely Brian! Thats why they stand the test of time: their pure talent, they transcend genres, they all brought something to the table and they all wrote number one hits! Not only are the hits immortal, but they have so many underrated gems, its almost criminal! In case your wondering about the champagne glass in Freddie's hand, this was a televised Christmas Eve concert and just before he started singing the song, he gave a special toast to the audience. Freddie would give a toast to the audience in general on occasion. What I love best about Queen's early works is how they explored fantasy and mythological themed type of subjects. Definitely check out other songs of theirs that had that theme-"my fairy king", "fairy feller's masterstroke", "march of the black queen", "lily of the valley", "nevermore", "ogre battle live at the odeon", "seven seas of rye live at the rainbow", etc! The poetry of the lyrics for "White Queen" feel like a medieval ballad! Alongside the loving from afar motif, Brian May found inspiration for White Queen from an archetype/mythology book he was reading at the time called "The White Goddess" by Robert Graves.
Freddie sang this with so much passion. Brian wrote the song about a girl he thought was “just perfect” in his College days, but he was too SHY to even speak to her for many months! Freddie refined the lyrics with Brian.
wanna hear his voice....try the studio version of " you take my breathe away ".......full of passion, sentiment, and just pure vocal power.........have a listen
@@JonathanGarcia-pq5hg I agree, Live at Hyde Park is just so magical in its simplicity and raw emotional power, for me it's preferable to the highly elaborated studio version. But some people do like that one better, so I'd suggest listening to the live version first and the studio recording second, to compare.
Hey Camille, this is from Queen Two. This whole album is absolutely phenomenal. Ogre Battle, Fairy Feller’s, March of the Black Queen all on “The Black Side” (Side 2), all the songs blend together and so full of KILLER QUEEN harmonies!!!! Bring your headphones, gonna get crazy!!!!
I love this song! To me it sounds so hauntingly beautiful! It’s like Brian’s guitar echoes Freddy on the piano , the amazing playing by Rodger and John really fill in and make it a song that I shows off what musical geniuses this group has.
This is a super amazing song. Freddie's vocals are mesmerizing, the instruments together, the band performance, out of this world🔥🔥🔥 Try You take my breath away, the studio version...it will blow your mind 💗💗💗
One of my favorite performances by Queen! Brian’s song about a girl he had a crush on but was too shy to approach her. Have you done “Don’t Try So Hard” yet?
Freddie and Queen were to Rock Pop music what Mozart was to classical. Stellar , unprecedented showmanship and charisma, Stunning , even virtuoso musical ability. ..Freddie was in the same category as Michael Jackson. They did not see through musical eyes , any specific race , creed , religion or gender...they wrote music for all people , all walks of life , all religions , and colors . JUST MUSIC. In turn the result was music that spoke to everyone , on some level , somehow. Sometimes emotional , sometimes acrobatic , flamboyant , sometimes soft , deep and introspective ..but always phenomenal!
I love this so much. I just wish during that instrumental piece that the cameraman had panned a bit more to the others. Brian's brilliant guitar work, John's solid bass and Roger's stellar drumming. It's all four who make this such a wonderful performance. I understand it though, because Freddie is so captivating.
I must concur, the rest of the band were not only on point but off the chain! Brian was doing part of his signature “round about” echo thingy that he and John invited. Roger, dear god, what a POWERHOUSE drummer!
One of my favorite Brian May songs and that instrumental section is just mind blowing. Brian completely shreds the guitar and Freddie smashes the piano. Roger is rocking the drums and John is killing the bassline. This song is simply perfection.
My favorite performance of a complex and beautiful song with the piano and guitar dance in the middle and Freddie’s miraculous voice. Thanks. Try Hyde Park 1976 You Take My Breath Away. ❤Queen
Hey There l💕🎶💕 Looking ever so lovely as always... That hair love; LOVE it 💜. Amazing song it’s almost exactly what iI needed to hear ... Again thank you so very much lovely, my best to your mum
Classic Queen right there 😎 Your reaction was priceless 👍🏻 my all time favorite never get sick of listening to this one.. Freddie and Brian were conversing through the their instruments.
Only thing missing with them live I’d their KILLER harmonies. I was lucky to see Queen live in Portland, Oregon. They were at the top of my musical bucket list! Please try March of the Black Queen (original studio version) , it is so complex and layered, live could never have done it justice. GREAT REACTION!!!! 🤘😎🤘
Katrina Winfrey... Great voice love Queen... I have a few things to mention to you. First, I love you and your reactions.! I also wanted to let you know that I actually got to see Elvis Presley in April 1976 when I was 14 years old in Greensboro N C!!! When He came out on Stage, I fell back in my seat, because my legs gave away! He was incredible, awesome, beautiful, and any other gorgeous word you want to add ! If you haven't played walk a mile in my shoes, It is worth it!! If you have any questions, just let me know, I've been listening to music since I was 8. All kinds.. Lord bless you girl. 😇❤
You should listen to “ Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballe singing Barcelona “, live at La Nit. It will give you a new understanding of the range of Freddy’s voice.
I have to say Freddie had a once in a lifetime voice. He along with so many more are remembered for having amazing voices and talents. For me there are so many to mention from growing up with from the 1960's on up to through the 1990's for me. I prefer Rock from any other genre of music.
His voice is addictive!!! I never tire of hearing him. Please react to 3 song short medley- In the Lap of the Gods, Seven Seas of Rhye and Tear It Up live at Wembley 1986. That last Magic Tour was out of this world.
Girl, Queen is my all time favorite! Actually that is how I stumbled upon your channel....doing searches for Freddie’s music👑. Please continue to explore and react to Queens vast catalog and I’ll be a subscriber for life👍🏽✌🏾
You should check out "Crazy little thing called love" by Queen. It's a song that Freddie wrote as a tribute to Elvis. It sounds like an Elvis tune, but it's in fact written and performed by Queen. Very good tune!
JAYY - Wow you’re hair looks fantastic & so do you!! This song is so hauntingly magical like a Tolkien world. Unrequited love while the White Queen walks!! OMG! This piano & guitar together are gorgeous!! You’ve gotta do the studio version too! It’s part of a three song transition meant to be heard together - PROCESSION/FATHER TO SON/WHITE QUEEN. great reaction!!
thanks, Jayy - once more, a beautiful reaction -- this song, though, is Brian's - story is that it is about a girl he had a crush on - but was too shy to speak to --OMG - I wonder if she even knows... anyway - the interplay between Fred's piano and Brian's guitar is amazing... one of my favorites -- as you know, very few bands can perform live the way that Queen does... as always, look forward to more...
Thank you (and Christine) for the reaction! I love the entire Queen II album, and you will too! From this same concert you will want to watch and listen to Liar and Here I Am!
Wow. Took me back to JR. High that time. I guess it's middle school now. Thanks for taking me back to JR. High Jayy. This is my favorite reaction channel.👍👍✌

Every time I hear this, I still don’t get why the camera doesn’t rotate stage right for yet another killer solo by the guy that wrote the song… You’ve got remember there was no RUclips back in the day their second album came out. Imagine our surprise when we saw them live during this period. Uhm, only 4 guys and one guitarist? Where are the other 5 guys to fill the sound like the albums? And fill it they did, one of the most memorable shows I have ever seen…. Brian’s 20 minute solo using a couple sound on sound tape machines with perfect syncopation and harmonies was breathtaking and of course Freddy’s on piano would rival most classical players I’ve seen. Amazing. Then of course the 4 part perfect harmonies on vocals, then there were the songs….. 3 hours later we were wondering if someone got the license of that truck that just ran us over…
Over the years, the vast majority of the time, the songwriter was the singer. These last two were NOT written by Freddie. Radio Gaga was written by drummer Roger Taylor. This song is from side white of Queen II. Most of side white was written by guitarist Brian May, plus one written by Roger. Side black is 100% Freddie, and has the song March of the Black Queen which is quite a contrast from this piece. The whole album is so well written, and sadly never got much attention. Each song by itself is its own journey, but listening to one whole side at a time through headphones will change your world.
U need to check out Jeff Scott Soto who did a whole concert of Queen. But check out his cover of Who wants To Live Forever ,Somebody To Love ......ANd He also has been singing since 84 for Malmsteen for 2 albums b4 he went on to go onto a band called Talisman and then went solo. Soto does sound close to Freddy Mercury

Good song but Lp is different some of the guitar is hard to reproduce live even though Brian has the ability to play 3 part harmonies alone. Try a song from A Day at the Races called Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling together). only played like once in Japan. Because it has Japanese lyrics

Queen - You Take My breath away - Life at Hyde park -1976

No interplay with guitar and keyboards on studio not as good as this version
The Hyde Park version of YOU TAKE MY BREATH AWAY is heart melting! Just Freddie’s beautiful voice and his piano.
