Crystal clear explanation by Swamiji and it was a cake walk for me. Great Vedanta Rishi, Ramana Maharishi proved to the world in the 20th century that realization can be obtained by ordinary people without mastering Vedas and Upanishads. Buddha too did R&D in our Vedas and Upanishads and presented a simple technique, Vipashana, to attain Nirvana. No harm in mastering Vedas and Upanishads or listening any amount of discourses but one has to sit and meditate because Thuriyam can only be realized by the aspiring individual. One could Google or hear from so many people endlessly about taste of Masala Dosa but would not know the taste of Masala Dosa unless the seeker puts a piece of Dosa in his/her own mouth and tastes himself/herself. Therefore, it is possible for everybody because we are the Thurium itself but it depends on the amount of effort to get rid of ignorance/Maya. I practice Vipasana meditation every day religiously two hours in lotus pose. I feel great and people around me feel +ve vibration from me. Founding father of Quantum Physics were the masters of Vedas/Upanishads. QP is the great testimony for our ancient science on inner world. Start meditating everyday just focusing on your breath moving in and out. Good luck!

From there, i pick myself through Brahmam, i found the secret of Suryasiddhanta and our body as merely as an avatara, the sleep walker. Brahman through quantum entanglement able to connect with this stula sariram, avatara.. Thats why Pancamaya Kosha is true, we are deep in the cave, beyond this avatara body. Caught in this avatara body, we experience the foolish Jaga, Sopnam and Sususpti avasta. Actually we should be 24/7 in Turiyam, everblissfull Thirunithira, in Cosmic Sleep. @@rohansaxena5606 The secret within Suryasiddhanta is not about the distance, it about the constellations, maybe 88 or more. If you know what is this constellation means, you will faint. No need to go far, if you study the secret of Satya Nyana Sabai in Vadalur, its enough. Its the other side of Surya Siddhanta, you need 2 to tango. Satya Nyana Sabai reveals the secrets of Constellations, no need to travel 2000 light years. Swamy's teaching contributed ideas and insight to make this breakhrough. But very complicated to explain. Can tell only one " Brahma Vitapno Thiparam". Perhap God's wish to keep it complicated, to keep it secret.

Welcome to Indiacome to indian hindu civilization and and know the whole cosmos spiritually.......
Then science becomes very small thing.....as materialistic universe is just approax.4% of this universe....
In our scriptures (upnishads) 5 dimensions are mentioned...
Sice time is cyclic so spiritualism is just like a tangent on that time circle which would make you escape this dimension and reach 5th dimensions where all the doors of blessings open for us..
Though the process is long...but consequences are which cannot be observed by these only 5 sense organs....
      Jay hind jay Bharat....jay sanatan

Best part of Hinduism is not something that is mandatory on someone. It's a choice. Anyone can follow it and unfollow it and come back again. That's the beauty of it.
It's a very flexible culture (not a religion) which doesn't include concept of forced conversion (as religion). That's why, there are number of atheist or agnostic people in it.
(In Islamic countries as Pakistan, secular social reformers get sentence of death, cause of absurd blasphemy law for being atheists or kafirs)
*Hinduism* is a way of life. You can follow this art of living without leaving your religion or creed... Just like everyone does *YOGA* without fear & greed...
And it's not about good & gods. It's to discover yourself as a better person... to bring peace within.
Most people think of Hinduism as polytheistic but it's monotheistic too. That means, There is one shapeless *God* (Dev or Ishwar = Energy) and as well as several shape-shifter *Deities*
(Devta = Matter) in nature, for all creature...
In short, God is like ocean and gods (deities) are like rivers, which fall into the deep ocean for unity & equality...
In Hinduism, You are free to make your own god or you can be yourself as a god. That's why, Non-Dualism says, *Aham braham-asmi* ( I am the God )

Watched, rather studied everything Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches, and in the night have been watching both parts for 3 hrs straight and its like I've finally "experienced" what Cosmos, Life is about, what is the "Atman", "Brahman", "Chitt" that all Vedas, Upanishads, Purans, mantras keep talking about. After all these years, these 3 hrs, have taught me by experience what none of all other pravachans have been able to convey. Outstanding!!! Thank you so much for this video. It is rightly said, if one can grasp this Upanishad alone, there is nothing else remaining to be grasped. Thank you Swami Sarvapriyanand ji. Swamiji! What an inspiring eye opening truth in your explanation of "Who am I?" The explanation of God is excellent. I have read similar philosophy in Jewish books. There are many parallels in what you are saying about God and what Jewish books are saying. Amazingly similar!! My question is, such wealth of explanation even the IIT students are not completely getting it and they all have questions... Then, I can only imagine the millions of people in India are struggling to know who God is and they have their own version of who God is...are they in Dream? They are in reality and thus in Error (according to your explanation). Your teaching need to be heard by millions in India so that they would understand who God is. I also noticed many people (with commercial objective in mind), have portraid Brahman into a male figure. Why is that?

No intellectual person, who is little spiritual will, surprise with the highness and depth of this video. The world is very spurious and there is not a single way to define it. All explanations lead more questions and all logics can be treat with some antilogic and exceptions. This is the knowledge from the most ancient research which is called as the knowledge given to the man in the very starting of the world so that man can be enlighten. I here agree that the Vedas and the Upnished and their explanations have the essence of the answer of all those spurious questions which are always unexplained. These oldest scriptures are only able to explain these things upto a certain level from that point forward the human being can lead to the more highness by self-practice and feelings only which are above and apart from the word that we experience. A great lecture, I really happy to see a piece of such knowledge sharing.

@@hhmbbb8331 It is not black/white but there is effectively no consciousness in the deep sleep state, by definition. The unconscious is not conscious, and so is not part of consciousness. Look up the Wikipedia page for "neural correlates of consciousness," it says the same thing that the Swami Sarvapriyananda was saying here: "To be conscious of anything the brain must be in a relatively high state of arousal (sometimes called vigilance), whether in wakefulness or REM sleep, vividly experienced in dreams although usually not remembered [...] High arousal states are associated with conscious states that have specific content, seeing, hearing, remembering, planning or fantasizing about something. Different levels or states of consciousness are associated with different kinds of conscious experiences. The 'awake' state is quite different from the 'dreaming' state (for instance, the latter has little or no self-reflection) and from the state of deep sleep."

It's like potential energy; it's not active. I guess that our consciousness has a direct connection with our brain, which is pretty inactive during deep sleep (the Cerebrum).

Very lucid explanation from Swamiji! There was a question and answer regarding the "Sushupti avastha/deep sleep state". Swamiji said we are aware of the deep sleep state but it is hard to prove it. I had this question for a long while and thought about it again today. And, an interesting thought along this line came to me which I consider is a proof of whether we are conscious of the deep sleep state or not. I would like to share it below.
Sometimes we say, "I had this dream just before I wake up (no gap between dream and waking state)" and at other times we say "I had this dream some time during the night (there is a gap between dream and waking state)". We also recognize multiple dreams with a gap in between them. We say, "I don't remember (correct word is experience!) what happened between the dreams but I am sure that they are not continuous dreams and have some time lapse in between them". If we are not conscious of the in between state, also the deep sleep state, then there is nothing to prevent us from saying, "I had this dream immediately after I sleep and I woke up immediately after my dream". But, we never say that! On some nights when we don't even have/remember any dreams we would say, "I slept peacefully without any thoughts/I had a dreamless sleep" instead of saying, "I slept and woke up immediately" (even if we didn't look at the clock!). We might argue, "our body is relaxed compared to the state before sleep and that's how I infer some time is elapsed."
But, if we are not conscious of the deep sleep state, then we have to accept that our consciousness is discontinuous and is present only during the waking and the dream states but not during the deep sleep state. Then we should be able to assert that either "I was awake" or "I was dreaming" and nothing else. Because, we can say only what we are conscious of. It's an absurd idea that consciousness is activated by a biological switch.
So, we ARE conscious of the deep sleep state. We just mistake the absence of thoughts to not being conscious of the deep sleep state. The example given by Swamiji about the light beam into the infinite darkness is beautiful!
Any counter arguments to my thoughts are welcome!

Thanks to Vivekanad Samiti for uploading such a nice video.
After listening to the lecture I do not say I have complety understood what swamiji said, but still have got some doubts.
If we are turyam (observer) and life is an illusion then don't we react to the situation and circumstances. Can we cut off ourselves from reacting to the day today life activities. Then what is the purpose of life, in a corporate world if you don't react and do not get in to competative mode you will be no where. Or else quit the world and lead a Sadhu life where you don't have responsibilities and no expectations from life. But still you have to respond to physical bodily requirements like hungry thirsty etc. How can one be turyam at that point of time. If you have to meet these needs you can't be a silent observer.

OUTSTANDING! I knew many things about Sanatan Dharm but still had several gaps, still do after this 2 part series. But, the amount of knowledge/vidya gained and immediate change in my experience and perception overnight while listening to the 2 part series is immense! There were so many concepts I did not understand reading Purans earlier, as to how and where do they happen, and Swami Sarvapriyananda has explained them with such perfection and completion, today I understood several concepts read about years ago. Like Swami says at the beginning of 2 part series, for anyone seeking Moksha, Mandukya Upanishad is the beginning and if understood well, is the end in itself. He explained the cosmos, life and Atman/Brahman brilliantly. Salute to you, my utmost respects. Thanks a ton! Great to see the world grasping Veda and Upanishad again (after ancient times), though ironically, layman Indians seem shocked at knowing Sanatan Dharm as if its the first time they heard about it.

It was a good talk, its a shame swami couldn't spend enough time explaining the techniques of moving from ignorance. For example moving from mananam to nididhyasana is huge step -- and often people fall into the trap into thinking that meditation is the solution. Meditation is there to remove the final desire, Krsna says that also in the Gita.
Only at 1:34 of the day 2 of the lecture was it discussed that it is ignorance of the Mind (Manas) -- so for aspiring students they must understand that Mind (Manas) creates more ignorance through desires (and lack of knowledge) and only through the development of the Intellect (Buddhi) over the Mind -- one can control the ignorance (Desires). Once the desires of the world have been reduced -- then should proceed to Uparati (withdrawal ), Dharana (concentration) and finally Dhyan (meditation) to remove the final desire.

Loved listening to Swamiji. But I couldn't concentrate on the subject matter, as much as was required. The same thoughts that disturbed me when some 25 years ago, in my studies on some topics in Indian Philosophy, went on creeping in to my mind. It is this:
Indian Philosophy contains a lot of observations and concepts in what is now known as the science of psychology. Modern science of psychology, like any other branches of science, evolved out of western philosophy, and is now a science of its own identity.
Had we done something in time, applying practical thinking to abstract theories, the science of psychology would have come far earlier, than its present origin in the western world -- that too FROM OUR INDIA.

Western psychology is stuck after the dream state and is mostly extracted from Vedic texts with English polish. Not only psychology but physiology. Many scientists like Einstein, Edison, Tesla have talked about Vedic Sciences and no wonder picked up the idea from Vedas.Same applies to many parts of Mathematics. It is just your mind which thinks it is Abstract.

However far western psychology might go, it won't reach the ultimate truth, the reason is simple, the way they mostly think is in terms of machines, however complicated machines programming might be, however computing power it is given, it will still always lack the data of evolution of human beings, maybe one day they will. But it would be too far away, we wouldn't probably have so much time.
Moreover the psychology study there is all about curing everything, that too fast. Humans can't be fixed in an instant, if we try, it will mess it up even more.
