BBTM shows Abel’s growth from the dark times in Trilogy and Kiss Land, not only production, and notoriety but especially personal. His reflection on this album sets up his future projects
I feel As You Are is criminally underrated. His vulnerability and acceptance makes it that much better. And with following Abel through his journey and discography to that point starting from Trilogy, we as an audience knows that he has baggage and traumas and through that he’s still hoping she will accept him for who he is.
I’ve seen Abel live twice!!! For beauty behind the madness and Starboy tour. And I will stand by this forever, he is by far the best live performer I’ve ever seen or heard. He sounds exactly like his studio tracks x100. I was mind blown by him & that is why I saw him for those two tours. I love him so much! I have some really great footage from both shows. & his song Angel and Earned it were two of my favorite performances from him. He also played his older stuff from his trilogy, like wicked games which was 🔥🔥 and the hills was so freaking cool he had fire and stuff on stage. Cant wait to see your reaction to his Starboy album!!!
BBTM tells a story about how abel thought that his newfound fame and success could change his life a little bit more positively and bring some true love and light in his life but as the song says he is a poisoner to his addictions and it all takes him back to square 1 , the trilogy where he is once again a playboy and a fuckboy , cant treat women right, always staying high and etc also view the BBTM MVs in this order 1:the teaser of BBTM 2:cant feel my face 3:tell ur friends 4:the hills 5:often Earned it MV is not part of the storyline
Love the Indie rock vibe this album has. The use of Distorted Guitars and other instruments really gives this album an underrated sound. BBTM is a really good time capsule for that era of music and I wish more people appreciated it.
both lana and abel are my top favorite artists, abel always says that lana is the girl he sings about in his music and if you listen to Lana's music you can see why, people even call her the female the weeknd lol, they're very close friends in real life and they have 2 more songs together stargirl (from Starboy) and lust for life, which is on Lana's album (also when you react yo Starboy, lana is the girl who sings at the end of party monster)
i don't care how overplayed Can't Feel my face got, it's always a banger track for me. 🔥 As you are and In the night are both top 2 off the album in my opinion. also i'm surprised you're on the fence with Tell your friends, the production is masterful and it's a fan favorite for a lot of people
I’d say I’m less on the fence with Tell Your Friends now lol, it’s pretty damn good… but as for Can’t Feel My Face 😬😬😂😂 it is a great song but I really don’t play it often lol (the live portion during Super Bowl was siiick tho)
Starboy is probably my favorite album as it’s the first album I listened to. However, this is my second fave. Tell your friends is the only track I didn’t save from the album, one of the few Weeknd tracks I didn’t like. Angel is my fave track ever, Acquainted and As you are are also some faves from this album. Can’t feel my face is good but defo has been played out.
You probably know summertime sadness by Lana del Rey, I didn’t know it was her 😂. You should listen to lust for life with Lana ft The Weeknd. And yes she was in angel too
I think it's pretty amazing that the weeknd was able to get away with transitioning into his mainstream sound while still keeping his songs that vulgar. Often was definitely something I should not have been singing as a kid LOL.
Yes I’ll be finishing Kiss Land music videos!!! Just trying to get through the albums too lol, what i react to kinda depends on how much time I have to film when I go to do it 😂😂
This one is probably my least favorite project of him I still really enjoy the hit songs (the hills mostly) and In the Night is a Weeknd top 15 or top 10 songs imo haha
I know this album top to bottom and it’s still my MOST disliked album mostly because of how mainstream it made him and it was so played out on the radio. I skip a lot of it when I’m going through my Weeknd playlists except often, acquainted and maybe shameless. My moms favorite song on here is earned it another played out radio hit. But The Weeknd did another song “where you belong” for 50 shades of grey which I think is better but it wasn’t the hit. I also do not like can’t feel my face and never will 😂 I love the hills too but it got so played out I just don’t wanna hear it anymore. I feel the same about a lot on the starboy album but I like it more than this one.
That’s fair, I really enjoyed it. It’s easy for me to be outside of the effects of the mainstream with it being older now. But I suppose even I had Can’t Feel My Face and The Hills played like no other for me over the years lmao

I agree, the personal reflection is lowkey huge 💯💯

I agree, a truly beautiful song 💯💯
FINALLY, I think that track is majestic, probably my fav from the album. 2 part hits like a truck. XO
Often is one of my favorite songs by The Weeknd EVER. Just fire
The end of The Hills is sung in Amharic ( an ethipoian language) and it translates to: Ewedihalehu - “I love you” , Yene konjo - “My beautiful.”
That’s awesome, thank you!! 🙏🏼
The ending of acquainted, “girls born in the 90s” was the intended track but he changed it cuz it leaked (or something)
Interesting 🤔 💯💯
The live version of Aquainted sung with the outro is beyond heavenly
This album marked a before and after for The Weeknd. It was the album that made me a fan of his. Since 2015 I’ve been listening NONSTOP 😂
The end of The Hills is in Amharic, Ethiopian language
As You Are is my favourite track off this album
Possibly same lmao, an incredible song 💯💯
The outro of acquainted was the original song before he changed it. Dope song
Give Often one more try pls 😂 I can’t believe you didn’t like it so much. I was so excited for your reaction to it LOL
It’s really good, I was trippin a little bit lmfao. More so just had me taken back than anything 🤣🤣
The music videos still tell a story in this album
Ooohh, I’m intrigued lol
Singer on Angel that accompanied Abel is named Maty Noyes
Ohhhh, that’s quite awesome 💯💯
I have been hyped up for this one 🎉🔥
Thanks for watching!! 💯💯

Thank you!! I want to see him live really bad!! Can’t wait for Starboy either!! Thanks for watching!!
@ you’re welcome!!!!
Should listen to the original version of Acquainted “Girls born in the 90’s”. It’s so good and might even be better than the final version
BBTM tells a story about how abel thought that his newfound fame and success could change his life a little bit more positively and bring some true love and light in his life but as the song says he is a poisoner to his addictions and it all takes him back to square 1 , the trilogy where he is once again a playboy and a fuckboy , cant treat women right, always staying high and etc

I very much so enjoyed it, the instrumentals were beautiful 💯💯
Alright, I have to say Losers gives me Michael Jackson vibes with a 20's undertone. Definitely enjoyed that.
Absolutely!! 💯

i love how his voice on this album gets so much more matured, starts sounding closer to how after hours sounds
Agreed!! A huge step closer to After Hours 💯💯

I would love to see you dive into Lana Del Rey’s music especially her older stuff. She’s like the female version of The Weeknd
I may have to do that 💯💯
Starboy is probably my favorite album as it’s the first album I listened to. However, this is my second fave. I’m not crazy about Losers but I love the instrumental
Let’s Goooo 🔥
You probably know summertime sadness by Lana del Rey, I didn’t know it was her 😂. You should listen to lust for life with Lana ft The Weeknd. And yes she was in angel too
" HOW CAN I BE DIFFERENT TODAY" AHH REACTION
Bruhh lol
My favorite color is purple
Siiiick
Kiss land is his best work in my opinion
I think it's pretty amazing that the weeknd was able to get away with transitioning into his mainstream sound while still keeping his songs that vulgar. Often was definitely something I should not have been singing as a kid LOL.
Lmfao
And yeah it’s pretty crazy how he has become the most listened to artist on Spotify with the content that he has 😂😂
On the subject of Music Videos, are you still going to do Pretty from Kissland?
Yes I’ll be finishing Kiss Land music videos!!! Just trying to get through the albums too lol, what i react to kinda depends on how much time I have to film when I go to do it 😂😂
@@YourLocalMelomaniac looking forward to it King 🫡🙌🏽
🙏🏼🙏🏼
From all his albums my least favorite are Beauty behind the Madness and Starboy, I love them but compared to his others they’re down there for me.
I could see that, with this one at least lol. I could see it either way though tbh, as in if somebody liked this more than maybe Kiss Land lol
🔥
💯💯
bbtm mvs are cohesive tho?
56:35 that was the weekend 😭
Ohh lmfao
This one is probably my least favorite project of him
I still really enjoy the hit songs (the hills mostly) and In the Night is a Weeknd top 15 or top 10 songs imo haha
Really?? I found it to be really great basically all the way through lol
The way this perfectly sums up my bbtm experience in the night and the hills ❤(and prisoner)
Same for me@@YourLocalMelomaniac
👍👍👍👍
