Also, as a Ukrainian I freaking love how Balto-Finnic languages sound (Finnish and Estonian as well as Karelian, Veps, Izhorian and Votic if pronounced properly without strong Russian accent). They sound so melodic. It can’t understand anything (I wish I could), but phonetics are just alluring!!

Heard some horror stories before and after the war. 😭Four my relatives fought during the winter war and the continuation war. Two died on the battlefield, third died after the war ended. Forth relative lost his left arm. He died in the 80s.

"Ryssiä", or to "russianize", in Finnish, is an official word meaning: to utterly fail, to f*ck up (oftentimes by neglect and laziness). This was true then and is true now and people there show very little will to change.
