If I am correct, you are in Mason County, WA. From what I have been told, you need to have a certified septic installer install the septic system. How do you get around that? I have property in Belfair and I would like to install my septic system. Just stuck on how the county will let me do myself. Thanks! Love your videos! Keep 'em coming!

I've been looking to upgrade my half century old weep field with the infiltrator system as well. I'm wondering why you needed to place so much weep chamber to manage a rural property, unless of course you have 15 children or run a daycare or something :) Also, I've been looking at the Infiltrator system and it doesn't mention the need for PVC piping to be threaded through the weep chamber system so I'm wondering why you'd think that was necessary? Thanks for any info you can provide.

The pipe is because it's a pressure distribution system that applies the effluent evenly over the whole treatment area. This is necessary in areas with shallow or poor soils, but can also greatly prolong the life of the field even in good soils. I don't know the specifics of the house here, but the treatment area size seems about average for a 3 bedroom house. The goal is not to just dump the effluent in the ground, it's to create an environment in which soil bacteria can decompose the organic compounds in the effluent, and that requires a lot of surface area for proper treatment.

Nice job thanks for sharing. That seems like a ton of drainfield but understand was required. How’s it working. Any issues since installed.

@1:35 - So the plastic chambers are laid flat unlike traditional pipe leach fields which has to be put on a slope? Good video.

John Be Bad traditional septic systems and chamber septic systems must be laid flat if you don’t lay them flat all the water runs to one end and you will never use the full capacity of your system ! That’s the way we have to do it in Ohio in the way we’ve always done it have been installing septic systems myself since 1973 our company has been in business since 1951. Hope that gives you a little information!

Hey Daniel, are those two tanks set at the same elevation? Or is the transition between the two lightly sloped?

How long has the infiltrators been working now? Any issues with them. I was thinking of abandoning my original Orangeberg pipe and rock lines and just running Infiltrators there instead. The ground is good and drains well, but the pipe is beginning the crush

    • @DanielWoodell

I would think that it would be required by the county. How i have never had to replace a drain field. i have only put in new ones.

    • @boward6686

In Ohio it is required to have a soil test done for new septic systems and replacements depending on the state you live in

just a little over kill I think. but if you got that kind of money to throw around then good for you. those infitrators mush of costed you 4,000 alone. and you used 2 septic tanks. wow that's a lot of money. if you have 10 people in that house. then that's good.

Watch all five videos about the system it explains all of it, and why it has to be this way. Its also interesting to me that you think that someone would install this kind of system because they wanted to. This is what is required by the health district and the county in western Washington.

Yes he’s right the county and your soil analysis determines what kind of septic system you put in!
