- What is "Dynamic EQ", and how can it be used to improve your audio? Dynamic EQ is a powerful tool in audio production. Not only does it allow you to shape the tone of your sound like a traditional EQ, it also provides the ability to control the dynamic range of specific frequencies.
In this tutorial, PreSonus software specialist Joe Gilder dives into two simple uses for dynamic EQ to achieve a better vocal sound in Studio One.

Pro EQ is my go-to EQ plug-in and I used it in approximately 97% of everything I do.
Very nice!!
great explanation and tool thank you joe
My pleasure!
I love that eq!!! Extremely useful on bass guitar without killing all the low end.
My next "trying that out". Thanks Joe!
Great video! Thanks again for all your videos! Always helpful!
I ALWAYS use the Studio One Pro EQ. It’s very very effective.
This is immediately useful. Thank you!
Better pace flow, and clarity than a couple of days ago. Good Job !
Thanks for sharing this! 👍
Hi Joe, it would be great if Presonus could add Mid/Side to ProEQ. It would then be an extremely versatile tool.
Throwing on the Spectrum Meter with the hold set would have been a great way to capture those peaks for illustration sake.
Great explanation! I now have a better understanding of the Pro EQ Dynamic. I've been fuddling about hit or miss....
Happy this helped!
Joe, your posts are really helpful, thx!! I'm a rank amateur, songwriter, who just wants to record my songs. My voice is quite raspy - is there a way to deal with that with this (or some other) tool??? Voice lessons are unlikely....
So happy to hear these are useful!
I use the Pro EQ3 in all my mixes and don't even bother use my other 3rd party plugins anymore, it's that good.
It's doing what it was made to do, so why even change something that doesn't even matter?
Thanks for sharing, David!
I guess the next update we need for the Pro Eq is a snapshot or freeze button.

You get it!
Im waiting for my quantum HD 2 which come with studio one pro. Cant wait to try studio one for the first time. I don’t even know how to create a project. Never use before but Im dying to try it
We hope you LOVE it!!
Please, make a simple update to hide/show the native info above every plugin! It's very annoying having this stealing crucial space specially on tiny screens...
There a hiss on this recording. Are you running an analog emulation plugin that was recorded with the video?

I actually plugged my nose and said "mmm" - Joe is right (again)
Presonus add something similar to vocalign in studio one 7... i hate the fact that i have to manually time stretch the transients for every vocal stack/double/harm and also the guitars! it is sooo time consuming
@3:50 he applied a deesser to his actual voice 😂
hi Joe, please make your videos louder!
Dynamic EQ... Sibilant Whac-A-Mole. 😅🤣😂
Petition to change the name officially to "Sibilant Whac-A-Mole"
Suno and Udio are doing damage and y'all still sidelining perpetual license owners. Crazy times indeed
look at FL studio's new "free" updates 😂 S1 needs reality check real bad
@@Lychegsye-nc6tdlooking at the thing FL users are getting as part of free lifetime updates, I regret starting out with S1. If version 7 release maintains the subscription exclusivity, I'm jumping ship. The FL soft clipper alone is fire
Hey Elliot! Good news - We have not made any change to our Perpetual license offering! As always, you may still choose to purchase and own your DAW license outright.
