I CRIED THIS ENTIRE SCENE! The pride in Jiang Cheng’s eyes, the realization that Wen Ning still chose to protect them in spite of everything he had done to the Wens and Wei Ying. The way Wei Ying shows that he was so powerful, to the point that he could have brought the world to its knees. And yet he never did it to harm innocent people (in the series).
This is where I say Jiang Cheng begins his redemption. He’s not redeemed YET. He still has a long way to go and a lot of making up to do to Wei Ying, just as much as Wei Ying has a long way to go to gain his trust as a brother again. But the pride shining in Jiang Cheng’s eyes, and the sheer hope shining through that smile. It shows acceptance. It shows that he understands it all now. He understands why Wei Ying did what he had to do in the moment. He understands now that he had been lacking as a brother and he needs to make up for it.

Everytime jiang chen is mentioned people seem to forget about the scene where he got caught because he want to divert the soldiers from wei Ying.. that's how he lost his cultivation. He loves the and cares for his brother the same as wei Ying love and care for him.. both of them just doesn't express it explicitly.. he may be angry because wei Ying has been the cause of his sister's death.. even in the battle field before his sister died he is not against wei Ying.... It's just lot of love and expectations making people disappointed.. that's the feel he gives me.

I love this scene but the title for this video seems wrong. Jiang Chen isn't stunned or in tears. It's more like he just misses his brother and is regretting all he did to him. Jiang Chen has always loved Wei Wuxian like his true brother. He may have felt inferior towards Wei Wuxian but I don't believe he truly hated Wei Wuxian, it's more like he was just angry that Wei Wuxian left him to run another clan when he knows he's also needed by Chen. I do wish the writers and the director made a scene where Wei Wuxian and Jiang Chen + Yanlin's son bonding and teasing each other after a few months.
Wei Ying wasn’t seeking for approval. Rather, I think he was looking for support / understanding from Lan Zhan. Approval and support are two different things. Whether Lan Zhan or anybody else approves or not, Wei Ying would still do it because the dark energy needs to be contained in order to protect others.

You have to read the novel. It's more detailed to explain why it's happened the way it happened. There are slightly different parts compare to novel but it's not changing the whole main story

I feel bad for Jiang Chen cuz people misunderstands him big time, Because even when he is furiously mad at Wei Yings stupid choices A'Chen yells and latches out but u can still see all the love he has for his idiot older brother. He knows deep down that yeah Wei Ying made the right choice to be righteous and stand to help the Daffan Wen remnants. But w that decision he put Yummeng Jian/ Lotus Pier on the spotlight of the Jins once again. The Jin Leader was putting pressure on his younger brother to stand against his older brother. Yummeng didn't have any support from any of the great sects except his sisters marriage alliance w the Jins. Jiang Chen was hurt and angry cuz he was left with all the responsibilities of the sect w none of his siblings help. He was emotionally hurt but in the End he still loved his big brother. Huisang u can say he manipulative but i tthink he made right choice to bring the YLP, his brother was murdered in cold blooded way, by his NMY sworn brother and helped indirectly by the other sworn brother. In the end even in death his big brother is looking after him w Baxias help.
