Brother, love what you're doing, something that will help you in the long run. Take pride in what you're doing, make it look good every time because you never know when a rich man is watching who looking for the next Million dollar idea and wants you to do the work I'm not heating on you by no means keep up the excellent ideas good thinking
Interesting, I 've been looking at picking one up for personal use for a few months now. I was thinking of using a smaller tank then lining with Kaowool and heating elements from a toaster.. worst case just insulate the toaster well and use that; I think AWS D1.1 mentioned 250F, I'll double check.
I have a toaster oven I was gonna take apart and use, but it was just easier for me to put the light in the back rather than fixturing all the heating elements inside
Just a couple of things to think about. Do you have any idea what the temperature in that thing is and have you thought about how to actually control temperature? Just putting electrodes in a place that's remotely hot, or just warm at best, really is by no means the equivalent of a rod oven and in fact, it is next to useless for the purpose. In order for this to work, you will at least need to look up the specs and provide a means to actively control the temperature and just so you know, some old lamp just isn't going to cut it. You'll need something far more substantial for the volume you're dealing with here which is really generous, I'll grant you that, but probably overkill for any home user. Think smaller, like the size for maybe 10-15 pounds worth of rods. It wouldn't take so much to turn this idea into version 2.0 that would actually work though. Think heat gun. They have the range and most have a fairly good thermometer build in.

Or just use a large toaster or mini oven that reaches 500degrees.
