Good sale. Good second day. Chief Joseph robe in a marked box is not worth as much as the the blanket brought to Antiques Road show that had been on the back of the couch for 50 years and was worth more than a humans lifetime income. I did find a wool, Navajo rug in a junk barn in Michgan for $35.00. How did I see it in the dark? I knew what it was. I clutched it to my chest. I knew some Navajo lady spent a year spinning, dying, and weaving the rug. I had it appraised for.$1250.00. I was told it was a saddle blanket. It had a significant hole worn in it. It was made in the 1950s in a specific area on the Navajo Rez. It was used on a horse when the rider needed to move his sheep to better grass. You just never know Renee. Go with your gut. And even the Crazy Lamp Lady passed on a red and black vase at Goodwill because of a small chip. Oh,Lord,it was worth 5 figures. To me,Renee, finding that Civil War diary still resonates with me on a cellular level. You finding that piece of history means more to me than my Navajo rug. Why? Because YOU FOUND IT. IT SPOKE TO YOU FROM A BOX, SIGHT UNSEEN. Something you might consider. I read a story about a woman who wrote her own master's program because she found a cache of letters and a diary donated to a small library. Little has survived from the Civil War when it comes to women's involvement. You just never know.
I own a vintage clothing store and also sell online. What you do, with filming and narrating, is a special skill that I know I don't have. When I'm at a sale, I am so focused on picking that I can't imagine dividing my energy into telling the story of what I'm doing. And when I get home, it's a nonstop regimen of cleaning and repairing and researching and pricing... So hats off to you, Renee, for doing such a great job of bringing us along on your adventures and letting us vicariously enjoy your picks. Much respect for what you do.
I film, try to do a little talking when filming, and then usually put the camera away for a bit so that I can focus and get things together. It's a bit more difficult at sales when there are more people around me, because while I want to capture all of the "treasures" as I uncover them, it can be a bit cumbersome to try and juggle my bag of treasures, digging, and the camera. I'm not a fan of chest mounts for many reasons, so my one hand is usually dedicated to holding the camera.
@@PaperandMoose I can only imagine how tricky that is--I have my hands full just trying to juggle my shopping bag while digging through piles and boxes and closets... Especially when I'm also dressed for a Michigan winter.
We could all spend our time wondering "what if" or "did I miss something". I'm sure it's harder when you are there, in the moment, with limits on time and money, lighting, smells, etc. You're also contending with other pickers and finding items before someone else gets it first. We, the viewers, have the luxury of the pause and rewind buttons. I'm glad you got the chance to go back this time. You're videos are always and consistently fabulous and what keeps us coming back is you. Your bubbly personality is infectious and you're never afraid to show the disappointments. Anxiety is crippling but you will always have the support of us loyal viewers. Thank you, for just being you. On to the next 😄 ❤🐨
Chief Joseph famous for his words I will fight no more forever. As a Montana lover you can follow part of his journey with his people before surrendering in Montana. It is really an amazing story. What he managed to accomplish is incredible with women and children to get as far as they did and the many days of travel over 120 over all sorts of terrain. Maybe, on another trip to Montana you can visit some of the trail.
Glad to see that you found the way back to this neat Phillipsburg property due to FOMO (fear of missing out), Renée. Nothing wrong with these emotions to give this object a second shot. And it´s always a pleasure listening to your comments during the hunt. The ROYAL typewriter in excellent condition and the fire hose from 1962 yelled definetely "buy me if the price is right". Great score, I am proud of you 😉👍. Have a fantastic, calm and relaxing weekend, Renée ! Greets from GER, U.
That typewriter stumps me... I found the serial number but cannot find or place a model number with it. I looked up a few websites that go over the different models, but my serial number doesn't seem to "fit" in with some of their timelines. I'll keep looking though, eventually I'm sure the model will come up. It's a beauty though, with the glass "window" sides! Enjoy your weekend as well!
@@PaperandMoose Concerning the footage, it´s not easy to identify this typewriter. I assume it could be a ROYAL No. 5 which was manufactured around 1912.
If I can get into an attic or basement, I'll go! If it is a little sketchy, like the one house with the big hole in the basement floor, I'll try to get in & out as quickly as possible haha :0)
That was great. Those chenille spreads bring back memories. I went to my very first estate sale last week (I'm 58 years old!), alone. Super packed. I was #28 in the door. I'm not a picker, but the pictures showed several things I wanted to look at, specifically some Longaberger pottery, which I use daily, and LOTS of nicely framed shirtless males! Not going into who owned them, but there was a big framed poster of David Hasselhoff that I wanted, just for the kitsch factor. It was too expensive for me, but I went back on half price day and snagged that one and shirtless Erik Estrada. As I was cashing out, someone said "Oh, she got the Hoff!" It was such an interesting experience, and I will definitely be going to more. Thanks for all your videos. Always so much fun!
I have been doing this for years and from one picker to another, I think you are doing great. Somedays you score great deals and sometimes you miss out. But the secret is to keep pushing forward constantly and at the end of the day you win. You love what you do and thank you for taking us alone.
I'm glad you went back and got the fire hose. I think its really neat. You'll be able to relax and sleep tonight since you went back. No more worries.☺
I just love you..your so real about everything and make these adventures so worth going along with you..glad you got a second chance at this sale..IT wz alot of fun...THX🥰
Glad you went back & found some P-burg things, especially. I think going back was not so much to right a wrong (i.e., I missed this and I didn't know that) but more the mark an astute reseller taking the opportunity to learn new things from 100+ commenters around the world . . . then having the initiative to put them to use. Immediately. And benefit from it. Financially. I'm sure most of us watching you would not want anyone watching us doing our jobs - let alone up to 63K people - all with different collections, tastes, experiences, etc. You've had the guts to put yourself out there to learn en masse (& take the occasional trolls as they come). To me that says you want to be at the top of your game - and have the humility to admit you need others' insights to get there. You probably learn more in a few videos than those of us who go solo to sales learn in a year (of course we get to learn because you've created this for us). Anyway, we're all our own worst critics, right? And my little speech is not going to keep you from having anxiety. But it can be debilitating, so I'm glad you're comfortable talking about it. And you seem to manage it well. BTW when I get anxious, my mind goes totally blank as well. I concentrate on everything except what I'm doing. Crazy, right? No, not crazy - it's normal. For a lot of us anyway. I hope you have a great Friday and a better weekend!
I think my mind goes into overdrive... or maybe it does blank out and I'm just on auto-pilot... or both! I think my brain calms down a little once I'm in the "situation". I'm glad I was able to go back and just go over things one more time, though knowing that this is not the case for most sales. A quiet weekend here, will probably catch up on other work and perhaps go out to the flea market, depending on the weather of course! Looks like rain, no more snow! Hope you have a wonderful weekend too, Steve!
Glad you could go back. I don't think my input would get you very excited, as I know more about the tools and shop items than the other. As I'm not a reseller like you are, I am sure my level of anxiety is much lower than yours. I'm glad you take us along, thanks. 👍👍
Renee, glad you were able to go back to that great sale. Also happy to see you pick up the fire hose. The Disney 1964 "That Darn Cat" seems to be in the $20 range. That Navajo blanket was very nice as was the 1950's boy scout shirts. Those acrylic blankets with the satin trim at times have value like $80 +. Of course, condition & manufacturer plays a part in their value. For me, the beautiful Royal typewriter was the best find of the day. I have a fondness for those old vintage typewriters. Take care, stay safe, & enjoyed your hunting today. Have a great weekend.
My son loves old typewriters so that is a cool find. As far as anxiety I think many of us have our own triggers. When we are focused on certain items we may miss something right in front of us. You are so kind to say that it is okay for your followers to comment on something you may miss some would be offended if told they missed something. Thanks for taking us along. 😊
You did grab some cool finds on your second run! I hope you’re thinking about going trash picking again. As I watched this video I thought about those trash bags full of vintage clothing that you found, this was before you went full time doing what your doing now. Thanks for taking us along, always so fun, have a great weekend sweetie!
Very fun video Renée. You can never see everything the first time you go treasure hunting and the thrill of the hunt is definitely the best feeling. Delaware 😊
Happy to see you went back to that sale. Fear of missing out is so real. You got some great items. What size is that pink chenille bed spread? I would think if the beaver state robe was there it might have been in a bedroom closet, especially if they used it.
Great blankets and typewriter, 🕸, records, 📚, 🧰tools. Those magazines were amazing, from what I could see.👍 Anxiety is my middle name. Worry that I didn't get what I wanted.🥴 Or worked for.😵💫 You are in my prayers✝ You are stronger than I could have been. I do trust you to pick what YOU know will sell, or want. Renee, you are a juggling act. With all of the other aspects of making a good video, and digging, looking...You do it all sister❣
Thank you, Rene , I didn't think about the added anxiety that viewers' comments would add. If I filmed myself at an estate sale. One would see multiple aspects of my personality, good and bad. The bad oozing out from my anxiety. 😆
The viewer comments are great because they enable me to learn more and see what I did miss. Normally I can't do anything because the video is put out after the sale, but in this case, since I was able to go back, I was a bit nervous about what would be left and if I could purchase some of the "missed that!" items.
@Paper and Moose it's the FOMO anxiety for me, such as the last estate sale I was at last weekend. Which is silly. The learning new things from viewers would "probably " outweigh that feeling.
I'm so happy you got the pink chenille spread! I saw it the first time. And those records! When I was a kid we had some of those albums and listened to them over and over and over! I particularly remember 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. We also had a Homer and Jethro album that we loved. Hoping your anxiety about this sale goes away!
I think you did well just going back there Renee! Looked a bit rodent-y in there to me. And you definitely know what’s worth picking and what isn’t. I liked the typewriter….
So glad you went back. Odd that they had it open again, what are the odds of that...anxiety...I understand...been there..done that...hard to put into words how it affects you but you did well...sending love and appreciation to you...🥰🥰
That's good you went back Rene and found some more goodies..😉 The easy way to tale it's a Pendleton/Beaver State blanket's is the wool feel..🤔 I have 2 very desirable blanket's Native American that are really cool/valuable..😲 Love the fire hose for a fireman's man cave..😍😲 Take care..👍💕🔥👀👊
That's called a picker rush! I think you have a great eye and I wish you would consider getting a booth. I would love to see how you would decorate it!
I think you do very well Renee, its hard to scout for items and sort out how you will use or sell them.Nice that viewers are eyes for you.Your instincts are right.Bravo..carry on girl
Hi Renee. So glad you went back for another look. It looks like you got some more nice things. Can’t wait for your next estate sale. LOVE your channel. Have a great weekend!
I was hooked from the first moment when you were still in your car looking forward to going in to the sale! It was an awesome treasure hunt. I sure won't add to your anxiety - as I'm not talking about anything that you may have missed. I didn't spot anything like that anyway. You had mentioned some electronic component, the Lafayette brand. It was on the wall in the attic. It was not a transistor radio - let me get that straight, first of all. But, if you ever do run into a Lafayette transistor radio, one of the handheld ones, Lafayette is a very sought after brand. They're typically from the early 1960s and would always sell very well as I believe Lafayette was one of the first brands sold. Years ago, when I was a kid, I used to buy and trade comic books with a guy, Ernest, from Phillipsburg who was a major paper collector. Every time I hear that town, I think of the comic books that I still have and had gotten from him. I have an old typewriter like the Royal you'd picked up. Mine's a 1926 Underwood, portable. It sits on a desk and I used to actually use it. You can't get ribbon for it. But I used to re-ink the thing with printer ink put in an empty small Elmer's glue squeezee thing. Yours is also from the 1920s. It's called a Royal 10. Thanks for taking us all along for such a cool treasure hunt.
If you have a Rainbow vacuum then you can get some of the smells out of fabric items by putting them in a plastic bag and sucking the air out of the bag until it is flat. Reinflate by putting the vacuum hose on the exhaust side and reinflate; you can add perfume to the water in the Rainbow tank.
Don't stress out do what you do best what you like someday you'll find the big thing that you're looking for you are so so adorable I love your Channel
Hi Renee. WOW! I am so glad you went back to the sale. So happy you got the shirt and the blanket too. I was wondering why you didn't get the hose at the last sale. But thank God you went and got it. Thank you for a wonderful video and what amazing finds this time. God Bless you Renee. Can not wait for the next sale. Love you my friend. Have a great weekend. Mari'a. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘
because I loved watching you getting great thnings in garbage bags you migbt drive by this house after the sale is over, just saying... thank you for letting me follow you
I got the feeling, looking in his basement, that he was a “tinkerer”. Looked like he picked up broken things to fix later. Either that or he just didn’t toss things away. I’m sure the pressure from viewers is huge. Take what you need and leave the rest. You will never please everyone and trying to will make you miserable. I think you know what you are doing, and do it well.
The reel-to-reel tape recorder and the 8-track car player would have been awesome (for me) 😀 Some cool records there too, I probably would have made an offer for all of them (after checking some for condition)
excellent testimonial, tho' you were lucky 2nd time 'round, only because others were going for the easy turnover, or "needed one of those" items ...and your are cookin' with a good fan base.
All those acrylic blankets! My son loves them. Calls them fuzzy’s. I guess it goes back to his baby blankets. I pick them up at rummage sales when I see them. Btw, nothing wrong with going back to a sale. Plenty of folks go the first day & return for the bag sale.
At 8:58 you saw a couple of electronics on the shelf. The Knight and Heathkit documents you had in your hand were for them. Those companies sold kits to build small electronics devices. In the 1960's I built a couple of radios from scratch by soldering individual components together to make actual units that surprisingly worked. It was part of an Electronics class project.
Loved the video PAM! I went back to a local vintage shop to see if an item was still there but it was a month or so after I saw it. Darn, it was gone so I just believe it wasn't meant to be. All is well.
It’s always fun to go along with you and see what you buy! Plus getting a 2nd chance is a plus. But where do you keep all the stuff you pick up? I have a lot I need to sell or purge. (I like the treasure hunt more than the reselling and it shows!)
I’m so glad that you went back to the sale, there were still so many nice finds! I was yelling for you to take the chenilles, I collect them and I love the peachy/pink one. I really enjoyed this video.
Oh these are so fun. So glad you got the typewriter. I would have known nothing about the blankets. Smart to grab the comedy albums. My sister has some we grew up with and they are worth a pretty penny. You never know. You did great.
Renee, you can't be an expert on everything or you'll spread yourself too thin. Stick to the things you know and love and people will look to you as an expert in those areas. I think taking the smells, washability, condition, and difficulties in packing and shipping certain items are very fair things to consider. This is your livelihood, your time, and your passion. You should enjoy it as much as you can.
Sometimes the best stuff is in the bottom of the most junkiest boxe or barrel I don't always believe in assuming you could find a great piece of jewely there is a noise no rhyme or reason how some people pack stuff with a storage unit
Hi Renee, lovely to watch your channel again. That idea with the other pair of eyes behind you is good when going through treasure fields. Hope you doing well. I'm exited to visit London again in two weeks for mudlarking on the Thames foreshore. xx
I saw stuff in the images that I'd have bagged too, but I'm mostly an expert at Jewelry. I do rescue any and all American flags when I find one. Sometimes it's one the family doesn't even realize is in the house.
High five for second chances! I love the RUclips community and the tips and comments they provide. I have definitely learned so much by watching your adventures and learning about things I never would have sought out on my own. Also I give you major brownie points for filming while digging. I have tried so many times and it never feels comfortable to me 😆
I am glad you said you don't mind comment on what you missed! I would Hesident on comment on that! You should have mentioned that a while ago! Oh well! Now we know! Good luck on selling & picking! BTW how did two stacks like those baseball cards?
Oh I don’t mind the comments at all, they are useful so that I know for future reference what may/may not be worth something. Taco liked the Mets cards the best, of course!
Hello Renee. I love that you went back . As a person who lives with anxiety all the time and has to take medication for it I get the hole thing with them . Some people just get them when doing things like this and some get them when spending money on what they feel is a unnecessary item. Me I have it for everything. I hate it. I second guess myself all the time. I will want something so badly but then I’ll tell myself know you don’t need it. It drives my husband crazy. I hate it but I can’t help it. That’s one of many reasons I love watching you. You have anxiety about things but you don’t let it get you or stop you from getting things for yourself and it doesn’t bother you. Take care. Enjoy your weekend. 🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🫖☕️🫖☕️🫖☕️🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯💯
I know I get myself worked up & always try to calm myself down or tell myself to calm down… The situation that I’m having anxiety about usually doesn’t turn out even remotely near how I thought it would be, so I get myself all worked up for nothing! You’d think I’d learn by now 🤷♀️ Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
@@christoye5200 I know that but she also gets things she loves for herself. With me I have a hard time doing that and that was the point I was trying to make. I sometimes have a hard time getting my point across. For people to understand me so sorry if I did that . I’ve been watching Renee since she started RUclips and I just was l just letting her know I get her anxiety about stuff and how she doesn’t let it stop her. Me I do most the time. Again I’m sorry if I put it wrong. Take care ☮️
I think you should get the 8 track for taco stacks…he can install it in his van, and we can listen to jams he finds :)…you two find 100’s of 8 track..plus I’d like to see someone get frustrated with it, like I did way back when ;) lol
I’m just flummoxed why there weren’t more people there with you! It has been many years since I’ve been to an estate sale where it wasn’t packed with people. Good pick ups. On vintage linens, oxyclean soaking in a tub of water is my go to. Most linens were meant to be washed so they are sturdy enough to withstand soaking and washing.
Very happy you were able to go back, also did you get the Reel to Reel player? apparently audiophiles are snatching them up for some reason. Dunno why, there somewhat noisy and hissy.

Yay! You're taking the hose!
So happy you picked up that gorgeous Royal typewriter. I have not found one that old to at a decent price to make any profit off it.
very very good, you tried and got a big win, because your followers informed you, give everything. Nice from Norway 🙂
I can only imagine Buzz saying “ get that & that Miss Moose’ 😂😊😊
Her names Renee
Glad you got more treasures.
I love that you have such good feelings for Pburg.
We are just grateful to go along with you. We are living vicariously thru you 😘
Very fun video Renée. You can never see everything the first time you go treasure hunting and the thrill of the hunt is definitely the best feeling. Delaware 😊
When you were looking at the broken clock there was a piece of stereo equipment there. You did not pay any attention to it! AHHHHHH LOL
You are absolutely precious! I love to watch/listen to you! Grateful 🥰
We all Learn as we Go. ✨✨✨💜
Re: anxiety: hon, you're doing great and we love you
Love you and your exciting ways
That's a beautiful typewriter, my son collects those so of course we would have picked it up.
Glad you got the Navajo blanket. And #SadFace the flip clock was broken
It was a shame on the clock!
You are the nicest picker and youtuber!
Haven’t watched your channel for a while since beginning to make junk journals. Happy to see you are over 65,000 subbies!!
To get the smoke smell out of the blanket you can spray it with cheap vodka and hang it in the sun. It works great for vintage clothing!
I'm so glad you went back, the prices were better than some sales
That's called a picker rush! I think you have a great eye and I wish you would consider getting a booth. I would love to see how you would decorate it!
I once sold that Buddy Holly Album for $200 but that was 20 years ago.
Thank you, Angeles!
You should stick to doing it your way. That is what makes your channel different that others.
Mari'a. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘
your hair is so pretty.
because I loved watching you getting great thnings in garbage bags you migbt drive by this house after the sale is over, just saying... thank you for letting me follow you
Diggers delight! Love those types of sales..
In the retail stock trading world,we call it “FOMO” fear of missing out!!! Love your videos. You are so wholesome and sweet.
Anxiety is a double edged sword in your situation for sure!! How in the world did you lift the fire hose to your car? They are heavy! 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for bringing us along with you. Hahaha I knew you were going to get that fire hose . Made be it could be used in a fireman's man cave .
Thank you Renee
I love her giggles and humor. She’s funny!
That Darn Cat 😂 now I need to see that movie.
All those acrylic blankets! My son loves them. Calls them fuzzy’s. I guess it goes back to his baby blankets. I pick them up at rummage sales when I see them. Btw, nothing wrong with going back to a sale. Plenty of folks go the first day & return for the bag sale.
If you listen to that Redd Foxx album, prepare yourself! 🙂
Rene'
That Alley Cat record brought me back to my childhood. Mom would listen to Mr Fabric weekly. Thanks for the memory jog.
You are a gem Miss Moose. Lots of good stuff on this one.
Nice Explorer Scout shirt from late 50s.
Oh man .... as a life-long Oregonian, we get pretty excited when we see Pendleton (Beaver State) in a thrift shop or yard sale!!!!
Sometimes the best stuff is in the bottom of the most junkiest boxe or barrel I don't always believe in assuming you could find a great piece of jewely there is a noise no rhyme or reason how some people pack stuff with a storage unit
You are a VERY brave woman! No way would I go into those super creepy basements!…but I’m glad you do👍😄
Although not valuable, I like that Rusty Warren album because she reminds me of Mrs. Maisel.
I have tried so many times and it never feels comfortable to me 😆
Renee !!! Thanks for taking us along with you!!! I appreciate you so much! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!
Hope you grabbed the Buddy Holly lp!
I am glad you said you don't mind comment on
what you missed! I would
Hesident on comment on
that! You should have mentioned that a while ago! Oh well! Now we know! Good luck on selling & picking! BTW
how did two stacks like those baseball cards?
People put those old game boards on their walls for decoration . Digital radios are good resellers.
So glad you took “ That Darn Cat” album. I remember going to the movies to see it! Hayley Mills was in it!!
Any electronics with vacuum tubes in it Buzz would probably like to have. Tubes are interchangeable and are very expensive.
