Doug, if you haven't tried it yet, put the computer's "eye shield" feature ON. It cuts down the blue light, which is hard on the eyes. Also, you can manually turn down brightness. Both features are usually on settings>display menus. Love the show. Been watching for a few seasons now.

Doug, I feel your pain, I did 27 semester hours in 5 months my senior year and didn't read a book for pleasure for about 18 months and struggled in front of a computer at work with my eyes. They eventually recovered...until I got old.
Lifetime Dolphin fan like you Doug. Unfortunately, the answer is no. If Tua returns it will look better but the OL won't be able to protect him. Maybe against some of the lower level defenses but not full season. The best QB's in the league have to run for their lives in some of these games. Tua is not a runner

Nice glasses Doug. Not going to be salty that the league has a different standard for Josh Allen than anybody else in the league as far as concussions. However… during a bye week I’m definitely going to stew over it knowing optics threw Tua on IR and the lack of optics didn’t even give him (Josh)an injury designation.
The problem is that our opponents so far have a record of 9-16. That says it all.
In the last 2 years they beat just 2 good teams. Good not great . All their victories were against bottom dwellers in the rankings. Soon exposed

If the dolphins sign Devin white to bolster the interior of our run defense, trade from Daniel Drunksill from the titans to bolster the interior of our o line, get Isiah wynn back to finish off our o line, and then get Tua back week 8, I think we can go off on a playoff run

It is not about the QB. it is about our play caller. Defenses already know how to handle McDaniel and he has no clue how to adjust to that. Look at last season with Tua at QB. Everything started with Dallas. Our offense didn't play good that game, then Ravens and all other games until last week. We barely can put 22 points. That is bad play calling and bad HC. The Bills game we had no offense, that is the main reason Tua ran with the ball, out of desperation to put at least one first down. McDaniel can't even adjust his plays to our new QBs. That guy needs to go asap. I have no expectations that anything will change after the bye, because the guy is stubborn as a mule.
Only way to improve this team is a full rebuild on the offense. I really like the defense, we may need a few minor upgrades there, but offense needs to be torn down and the coach needs to be removed. Need to finally move on from Tua which is what I've been asking since his 2nd year in the league.
Major mistake by the phins is why did they let Van ginkel go he did so good last year and they didn't even try to keep him and he is killing it in Minnesota 3 sacks 2 int and 2 td in 5 games

Being one of those who saw the Dolphins before Marino let's us know this organisation is trash and Ross will never win anything. Been right for the last 30 years. More then half the problem is the play calling. Last few games of last season defenses figured our motions, sweeps, and screens out. Watch tape now and defenses don't move much and linebacker are 8 yards off the line. Then when we sweep or screen they all dive to that side and we lose yards.
We are figured out. Need to change to a power run team and play action to keep defenses honest
Here's the problem, the notion we had the "top offense" last year was fueled by a run of victories by sub .500 teams when McDs little schemes were still being analyzed by these sub par defenses. Once we hit the over .500 teams it was over. Defensive injuries aside Tua's lack of mobillity, situational accuracy, cold weather tolerance and brittleness likely mean the dolphins are a one and out playoff team in perpetuity. Oh...and I almost forgot, here is your daily reminder to fire Grier now.
Strangely I think losing Tua for a short time will actually be a blessing because McD (hopefully) learned he can run a powerful offense with the run. Long term that means the entire offense will be improved once Tua gets back

Doug the question we have to ask is why does Grier think he's untouchable. How has he keep his job this long. ? My thought is Ross has let it slide. But why?
We're 16th in defensive points allowed, but we've played 3 of the very worst teams in the league in that 5 game stretch who's offense is as bad or worse than ours. Against the only high end team (Buffalo) they gave up 31. Against the Seahawks who are just so so we gave up 24, and against the Titans who stink we gave up 31. So let's be honest. If we played even one more good team in that stretch we would likely be in the low 20s.
The issue is establishing the running attack. If the Dolphins can average 4.00 yards on 1st down we could win. Also, BUILD THE O-LINE!!!

At a certain point, you have to accept what kind of franchise this is. It is not a winning one. Sometimes it’s that simple 😂 not only that but we have the worst O-Line in the league, injuries everywhere (again) and a locker room that is without any belief.
Sorry Doug the stats you show on screen is not Quick Pressure forced. It is quick pressure faced and quick pressure generated. Ie comparison of Offense and Defense compound.

Poor O-line, we can't beat a 2 safety high system. McDaniel needs to make adjustments and stop spot throwing. Ravens Chiefs showed how to cover our WRs.

Nothing is more dangerous in any sport than a gm on the hot seat allowed to mortgage the future to win now to save there jobs. That is exactly what mia did. We all knew last year was the year before money made keeping everyone, mind you on a team that couldn't win the division or a playoff game, and we would lose talent. The propaganda that we were in great shape this year started right away after the last game. We are not screwed. We are fine. It's the bills that are screwed. We will take the division this year. Facts 2nd game this year we got blown out by those bills at home.
The smart play was to 5th year tua, sign the young good players we drafted, and let the hired high priced guns go. We could have had a 2 year retool. We did the complete opposite. We kept all the hired old expensive guns, we let almost all the good young guys walk. Hunt, Wilkins, avg, all walked. With baker and Davis leaving to, kind of seems the flores guys were sent packing.
I don't get what people are thinking Miami can top out at. We have less talent vs last year. You think an oline losing Williams and hunt that replaced them with borderline bench players is going to every be that good? We kept Jackson over hunt? Grier drafting defense to justify the Jackson pick so 2 of the 3 1st round picks that year are not busts (really 3, tua, 5 years in, hadnt won shit)? Now we got a 4 year rebuild because we will owe old, cant trade, broke down players, and a broke down never had it qb.

No mention of the special teams? They were absolutely horrendous against New England; the worst I’ve seen in recent memory. The defense cannot hold everybody else. This bye week needs to be a mini training camp and a hard reset to this season.

We could but unless McDummy improves which isn't likely I don't see it...he did stick with the run against the Patriots but his play calling to play to the strengths of the backup QBs is questionable at best.

By the way, the Fins right now enter the 2025 draft season with the 3rd worse salary cap $. Only $4.5 million. They better trade Holland before it's too late. They don't have enough $ to sign him and if he signs with another team the Fins would get a 3rd round compensatory pick, HOWEVER, they won't be able to sign a top free agent because that would wash away the pick. So they MUST trade him, which will be tough with his broken hand. They could get a 3rd, maybe a 2nd rounder. That way they don't pay him and get to keep or trade the pick we get for him. Agree or disagree? I wait with bated breath.

I tend to think the Dolphins have given up. They didn't make a *BIG* move to get a quality backup quarterback. They seem content to go with a journeyman with no bright future. A team determined to win and get into the playoffs would have made plays for a Trey Lance or a Russell Wilson or even a Jimmy G. They aimed for a Chase Daniel, a JT O'Sullivan, a little shy of a Brian Hoyer. Meh. A Ryan Fitzpatrick would have shown some gumption. They seemed more interested in saving money during a year for which they had no hope. 😋

Said what you want about Chris Grier but he struck gold when he traded into the fourth round and drafted Jaylen Wright . The young man game resembles Marshawn Lynch . The Dolphins might have found the spark in Jaylen Wright that might ignite the offense .

Been a fan of this team my whole life. I can tell you for a fact nobody is getting fired, Tua will be back, little to no improvements will be made this offseason and they’ll run it back for one more year only to end up in the same spot this time next year. Grier has Ross cucked.
Doug, we can get on chris about draft picks but you can't get on him about keeping draft picks. coaches are the ones who make the decisions to move on them from players.

I think they have to try to become more run oriented. Which is tough without a strong line. Wright looked more like NFL back than Achane... Achane might still be a good change up, explosive player. McDaniel could be like, what your thinking about Grier.. Achane and Tua he is full in and can't see the negatives, same with his play calls he has ideas but no feel for the game or ability to change.. sadly I think we missed a block of time we could have been top team

Unfortunately I don't think the Dolphins will overcome the legion of weaknesses they have right now in some days or weeks. Even with Tua the offense has struggled a lot since the end of last season. But it's not only the offense, it's the special team unit led by the incompetent Crossman, the HC himself, the OL, etc. The Dolphins can beat maybe the Jets, the Patriots again and a couple of more teams, but not more than that. Otherwise it's just wishful thinking. So very likely the Dolphins will end up the season no more than 8-9, presumably 7-10 or 6-11. The victories against the Jaguars, and notably, against the Patriots were so ugly that they should be losses and be 0-5. So even if the schedule looks accessible (for a good team) the reality is that it isn't because the Dolphins are a bad team.
I expect the dolphins to beat the colts as the colts have one of the worst defenses in the league. If we lose to the colts, McGenius has to go

It's because the poor GM operations, lack of good coaching and development of players.
I disagree to blame the back up QB's. The coach can't coach and properly prepare the team.
Its Tua's overwhelming contract will be the demise of the Phins if we plan to keep him going forward. All for Grier to prove the narrative that Tua is our franchise QB. We gave him contract that equates to top 5 QB.
The O-line as a whole should be the most expensive contracts on this team. Not on above average QB that cannot be tackled.

No. Last year was all or nothing. The wheels came off well before the end. Rebuild coming. There is no accountability in the whole organisation. Players are too comfortable to bother except a few.
