    I replaced the limit switches on mine, $17 each, made a world of difference. Mine looked just like yours, the one for the left steering control broken and dangling, the one for the right side was folded back.

      Have a code? If so, the code is prolly accurate.
      No code? Its the computer not sending the signal to the solenoid.
      Try cleaning all connectors and pins. After that, pack them with dielectric grease.
      Im assuming it only does this sporadically.

    If solenoid is removed can u move skid steer when broke down?

    • @thewayididit6641
      @thewayididit6641  4 года назад +1

      Yes. It can be moved but the whole assembly has to come out. If the block is left in, it will cause issues.

    Hello I have a bobcat 5610 the problem is that is doesn’t move nor forward or backwards what do you think it can be thanks

    • @thewayididit6641
      @thewayididit6641  3 года назад +1

      That's a good question. I'm not a bobcat mechanic but if it doesn't move at all, I would suspect the chain box, something common to both sides.
      You would be better off trying to search some skid steer forums for an answer.
      Sorry, that's about the best I can do.

    • @thewayididit6641

      Without having it in front of me, I recommend checking the foot switch, wiring, and voltage.
      Then I would open it up and see if something mechanical is stopping it from releasing.
      Let me know what you find.

      @@thewayididit6641 there's about 9 1/2 volts running to the solenoid but I also noticed hydraulic oil is making its way up into where the shaft retracts to. I was thinking that the oil was preventing it from retracting? Still unsure of what else it could be

    The limit switches should be another video imo. Not the title and not what folks came for. Any number of other things can be gone into, but best stay on point to title I would vote.

    • @thewayididit6641

      I appreciate your suggestions and feedback.
      Are you saying "limit switch" was in the title?
      I'm also not sure what you meant by "not what folks came for". Can you please clarify?
      Also, I hope you realize this video is FREE. You get to watch it for free, I made it for free (no, I dontbget paid for my videos) and I only make them because I'm trying to help people like me. People that can't or don't want to pay a bunch of money for things they can do themselves. Even if it does take a little guidance.
      I don't have a guide on how to make these videos, I just do it. So, it's a kind of get-what-you-get sorta thing.
      What I'm also interested to know is did the video help you?

      This was one of my first videos so you're right, I may have went off the reservation with it. I'm still struggle making them short and on point.
      I appreciate all feedback. Knowing that you see the same thing I do, tells me I should prolly track a Lil better.

      @@thewayididit6641 I should have been more precise in my communication. The entire video is excellent. My comments should have been entitled something like "How well youtube titles match the content and why it matters".
      Imagine 3 different fellers. 1 guy on his porch with a lemonade lookin at videos to relax sees one called "Several things you can fix on a bobcat when you have the cockpit up". And he sees your video here with that title and is real happy to tuck away that knowledge for time of need. Now imagine another feller up to his elbows in replacing the brake solenoid, got it all apart and getting dark about to rain and got lost JUST wants to sew up that solenoid ASAP nothing else and go get dinner. He's gonna be frustrated that THAT discussion ends at 9:04 and goes into an EXELLENT discussion on fixing limit switches--which does not help him in the moment, (and, you did not show testing of the solenoid brake to show that YAY! the fix did work now!) MEANWHILE, 3rd guy desperately wants to see how to fix limit switches and NEVER clicks your video because title does not say a thing about limit switches. See? I may be wrong, but just suggesting ONE video entitled like you have it ("Bobcat Brake Solenoid replacement") up to 9:04--but finish up with testing on camera to show it worked, and ONE more video called ("Bobcat Limit switch repair" that has the stuff fixing adjusting those. That way everybody's happy. (The guy on chillin onthe porch just clicks one after the other) There's nothing wrong with breaking up a video. The content is excellent as a matter of fact. Thank you for making it.

      @@roundedges2 i agree, the video was kind of confusing to watch. it would be better if you did the steps while you are explaining them. not do the step, then video after you did it and try to explain what you did. more helpful that way. imo.

      If you haven't, you should check out the update video. There was some damage resulting from years of trying to move with the brake on. I repaired some of that damage also and I believe that helped also.
