    I own this machine and it is FANTASTIC! My husband is disabled & in a wheelchair, so snow removal is up to me. I’m 75 and only 5feet tall. Guess what? This machine has been a life saver. No problems. If I at my age & height can easily handle it, anyone can. But, no matter your age or height, it does the job!

    I just bought the SNT2406-4 from Lowes. The 4 batteries are important for me. It is a beast and really works well. Except the directional chute was extremely hard to move. I called Ego and they said to take off the bracket that was the fix for your issue. It works great with the bracket off.

    I've only used my new EGO stage 2 blower three times, but it was a pretty good test. The first was about 5" of dry snow with an underlayment of frozen snow about 2" deep -- I have 70' of driveway about 30'x50' wide and it performed as good as I had hoped. I'm 85 and not in the best of physical condition, so I counted on the blower to do the hard work. The next day we had a new 4" and the blower got deeper in the icy first layer. Then I did the pathways around to the back yard to our shop and patio, then the trails to the back door patio which picked up some gravel and leaves along the trails. I had bought extra batteries, but the batteries that came with the EGO were never depleted. Of course I put them in the charger after each run, but even though I used turbo for the blower, I never ran low on battery. I've always been a snowbird, enjoying the California desert during the November to April months with its 70 degree weather and extra two hours of sunshine every day, and contracted with a young man in our neighborhood to keep the snow cleared from our sidewalk and driveway. He had his own method of pushing the snow to the side, and after this initial experience I realized I've never paid him enough! I called him over and gave him $50 just as a thank you. I give the EGO five stars.

    Like you, I have had my 2 stage for 2 years now. Although a battery snowblower is convenient, I still regret getting rid of the old gas snowblower. I used to help my neighbors clear the snow from their walks and driveways. Now that I am using the Ego, the dual 7.5 batteries are dead after only doing my own driveway. It should also be noted that Ego really cheaped out on the build materials for the snowblower. Thin metal housing and those cheap green plastic skids that wear out really fast!

    Thank you for this. I had commented back and forth with you when this came out and bought one. They sent me the kit to fix the shoot. I really like this blower BUT I am already on my second set of batteries since the first set got to where they would no longer take a charge. Thankfully they were still under warranty and Ego replaced them. I want to buy one now for my father and this concerns me but since they honor the warranty I think I'll just get it because it's easy to assemble and use. Absolutely throws the snow 50 feet as stated. I will be sure to look for what you just pointed out.

    I’m having trouble with warranty service with this company. The self propel system has failed after 1 season and tech support is dragging their feet. I uploaded videos showing the problem a week ago and they tell me that it has “been elevated” to another department because there is no local service near where I live. They say I may need to repair it myself with parts but they can’t tell me for another week. It’s the middle of the winter and their machine is worth no more than a lump of junk metal right now. They are difficult to contact and slow on service, not good. Update: they shipped a new one 4 weeks later. Worth the wait?

  • @Dave004

    Good info on video. I was thinking of buying this but for the price and what I hear about the batteries lasting usually max of 3 years (and from what I hear the battery life diminishes each year so by the 3rd and final year you're getting maybe 15 minutes of use) just seems like too much of a gamble. I mean you think they're good for the environment but replacing these huge batteries every 3 years can't be that great vs a bit of oil and gas for a regular snow blower.

    I have the SNT2405 that i bought in September (so no longer returnable at Lowe's) and after just FIVE uses, the cable is completely "dead" the chute wont catch or move at all. I have the version with the upgrade kit installed and when i took off the housing i see the cable itself is feeding out of the gear. IT may catch a tiny bit, and shift a few inches but then back to no movement at all. I have no idea how to fix this. From day one it was SO hard to move, I have a good amount of strength in me and i struggled. All in all, my only alternative is to load it up (middle of winter here in CNY) and take it to a repair shop who might be able to fix it (and keep it for 4-6 weeks). So upset, Ego offered no information to help.

    Mine doesn't have the upgrade but it's also not an issue for me either.

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  Год назад

      That's all that matters, for me it was an issue and I believe enough people had a challenge where they actually came up with the screw system but because it wasn't really tested they stopped doing it

    Battery obsolescence is planned obsolescence..... I have 3 drills that i cannot buy batteries for anymore...they are now basically paper weights. Buy a gaspowered snowblower...it will last you at least 20 years...better yet buy an old refurbished one on the cheap.

    How you charging your batteries to snow blow when the power goes out in a heavy snow storm...Gonna run a gas powered generator to charge them...I'm sticking with my gas power TORO thank you...

    Retail stores are NOT going to let you open each box they have in stock to "check for a couple nuts" to find out if it's a new or old production run.

    I bought the 42 lawn mower from Lowes it sat outside long enough for the serial# and Q code label to be so warn out my phone could could not read the q code. The boxes for the charger and spare parts were wet and the steering wheel was not installed properly installed. Stay away from Lowes.

    Why in the world would you not show the installation of that bracket? That is supposedly the fix and you just skipped over the installation. Then there was zero discussion about what that bracket actually does. Also the relationship between the upgrade kit and those screws is not explained at all. Totally confusing video.

      If you watch the full video, I did mention that there are videos in the description one of them, showing how to install the bracket. Now cheer up and try and have a good day
