Back in the day, goths used stage makeup like clown grease paint, pan sticks or Kryolan TV Paint Stick. Kryolan is still popular but it's basically drag at that point, so the foundations are better for your skin for daily wear.

So the reason it almost looks like bronzer is because gray in dark contours looks weird when it come to formulas. So they make it slightly purple because it gives more of a neutral contour so it works well with your contour powders and bronzers😊
glad they have a shade for you! however, they completely left out a huge number of ppl. the second darkest color is for someone with jlo's complexion and most black women are left out.
There is ONLY 4 shades. While it would be great to have a “perfect shade” -with only 4 in a collection I think it’s safe to say they’re meant to be mixed.
It's looking great, I'm a pale girl myself and I'm glad they're FINALLY doing very dark shades. Brands like Juvias Place, Beauty Bakerie ect are very good, they do shades for a vast range of skin tones, if they can do it, so can the huge companies

I don’t have dark skin but I’ve found it has been just as hard for me to find a correct foundation. I have very pale olive toned skin, so 99% of foundations are too pink, too yellow or too orange for me. even neutral foundations looked too pink or orange on me. I FINALLY found a matching one from Fenty after years of testing to no avail. so much money wasted lol.
Girl. Same. I'm not olive toned. I'm...I don't even know.... I'm more in the neutral area. My issue is the lightest shades are TOO pale, pink or yellow, then I try going up in shaded and to yellow or ORANGE! I usually end up getting a neutral shade that's a bit too dark and mix in a light, cool shade.

People say there should be another color but how many will actually buy it? You have to build a demand. That's why they were able to go this long with only 2 bronzer colors (that now have 5). Milk is good to discontinue a product if the sales aren't up enough which is smart practice so they don't go bankrupt. Most consumers buy something once then hop to another brand with a similar product so they need that retention of that product to be high enough to expand. So anyways...like I said 2 colors on between the last two would be unrealistic.

If you have cool undertones like me, Milk is a god-send. They are so good for super pale people and very dark ppl. One of the only brands that works for me.

I love the depth of it, it’s about time MM launched deeper shades. I use their Matte Bronzer stick in “blaze” but they’ve only ever cared to have 2 shades. 2020 helped to change the game.

I think that they are testing the waters to see how well it could be for black men and women as well as the formula before expanding the line. I think it's a smart business idea for the reviews to come out before the variants are released on the darker end of the spectrum as they have been vastly not represented where as stick contours released ABH have been 20 shades of white. I do agree with you that it does look like more of a bronzer than a contour on you but they're evolving with an finish line in mind to outdo mainstream brands (about freaking time right). I definitely think it looks gorgeous on you and if I have to guess, they already have more colors in production and ready to release by sometime in the summer if not Fall. Yes the shades can be mixed but you shouldn't have to at $24 a stick.
To be fair you want it to disappear. It gave you depth in the first swipe when you blended it. If you can still see it as a noticeable darker color then it’s not all the way blended. The natural shadows on your face aren’t standing out like a dark swipe on your cheek they blend seamlessly into the lighter areas. Also, when you sucked in your cheeks you could see the shadow , it’s just not back below your cheekbone, it’s closer to your mouth in line with your nose. You can’t actually suck in the skin all the way back.

Now there are two shades that JUST match my tone enough, buuut i've found i'm so happy not wearing makeup all the time so yeah a bit late😂 I'm so glad brands are being more inclusive, it feels so good to have options.
I have the same issue and found things that work for me from Laura Mercier. I didn't want to spend that much, but less expensive brands just didn't work and I was sick of trying and wasting money. Colourpop's tinted moisturizer works too, but the coverage is very light and depending on what you want, that might not work for you.
oh when i saw the shade stroke i was really excited. Then you did the next shade and i deflated like a balloon. The Sizzle is too dark for me. The next shade is my skin colour. There are about 2-3 shades missing i between. 😢
It did give bronzer until you powdered down. Gorgeous either way though, cause you definitely slayed it. Seems brands either go red or green for deep tones
I was gifted the shade toasted and it was a shade too light for me. This feels like they were testing out the waters with the product, but their lack of shades is going to leave a sour taste in my mouth

That suck you cheeks in to figure out the right contouring tone is interesting and explains so much. I have no clue how I ended up here because I have very fair Asian skin but I tried quite a few contouring shades and they never quite fit...now I know why. They were all too dark but not olive enough. Sigh. Okay...at least now I know what to look for.

I am so light that I turn invisible when standing in front of a white wall and I love watching your reviews and trying to support brands that you say have actually deeeeep shades. What I find super sad is that in Switzerland most physical stores (online is different) only have a shade range til max mid-brown (if you're lucky) as if black people don't exist here. Which is bullshit. There are people of every skin color living in Switzerland. (Woops, sorry for the rant)
I screamed YESSSS at that swatch & blend! It makes me so happy when makeup brands have shades for a wide variety of skin tones. I have fair skin but with an olive undertone, so I've had many struggles in the past getting a good match, but seeing friends with deep tones have even worse luck. I only buy products from brands that do a wide range of shades because that's the brands I want to support. Like you said, if they can do it everyone can! I have a few products from Milk and love them. My favorite is the "Kush fiber brow gel", a tinted brow gel (good range of shades) with fibers that help fluff & lengthen, with a nice small applicator. Their products tend to go a long way and they use good ingredients too. 💗
contour looks so good on your skin! I am pale AF, whatever contour I put on myself in real life it looks super obvious and dirty. Contour is made for dark women
I am so happy to see companies are finally making products you can use. It does feel a bit warmer or neutral and I like a really neutral to cool tone contour mixed with a little bronzer. So for me if I had this makeup brand I would probably add something more cool toned so it is more of a true shadow contour and also have a warmer bronzing one. It is just insane to me how companies will just not make products to include all shades. Do they not want to make money?!? Just make less units of the shades that are on less people. I would want everyone included but maybe that is because I am mixed American/Brazilian…

I just picked up the Milk contour last Friday and used it today...this rocks for us dark-skinned girls. However, the only flaw I have is the packaging. I also purchased the blush and when taking off the plastic lid, a lot of the product came off in the lid. The same thing happened when I went to use the contour this morning. I am still able to use it, but it's just annoying that this has now happened twice. Again, I love the contour since it works so well with my skin tone, thanks Milk!
Wow! This contour looks great on you! My hairdresser is from Sudan and she also liked it very much! Her skin tone is more on the cooler side tho, but she also said that it’s cool that it’s buildable. You’ve mentioned, that it can serve as a bronzer, so I liked that you can play with it and now I’m thinking about checking Milk for myself. I can’t find a concealer for my stupid tone, I’m white as a chalk, and the only foundation that suits me is Dior in tone 0N, and there’s no concealer lighter than that that wouldn’t make me gray. Eww. I also started ordering from the company directly, because I feel so uncomfortable, when I ask for 0N in a big store, women often laugh and say: “Don’t you know, that 0 means 0 colour? Are you transparent as a jellyfish?” 😢

okayy bc why is milk coming for everyone? it looks tooo good. the only thing was that if its marketed as a contour, i feel like it should be matte?? bc glowing is gonna reflect the light, so it does just look bronzed , but with the powder it looks SOO good

Also with very deep tones you focus on brightening strategically to contour and with lighter tones you deepen. It's like drawing on white paper with a dark pencil or in black paper with a light pencil. Same concept.

Even though it was most definitely more visible when you put the contour on the second time (with other makeup) it still made a (small, but visible) difference without other makeup :)
The new Milk drop is heavenly. I am insanely pale and very cool-toned, more so than my albino friend, somehow. Only contour stick that has actually worked for me (the lightest shade in the collection). I also notice that women w/ darker skin AND a undertone have these least amount of products to work with. So glad that more options are coming out.
Juvia's place is also great for diverse undertones with complexion products. Makeup by Mario has the best diverse under-tones for products like shadows, blush, etc.
the funniest thing is, my skin tone is always considered the darkest shade for a lot of beauty brands. i tend to be the contour shades. and i’m not even dark skin, im brown. im in india currently so milk, fenty, and rare beauty are not here. the market for lighter skin tones is higher as well. i cant find anything. i ended up finding nudestix, but they are always sold out with their deepest shade. idk wtf im supposed to be doing now 😭

I am fairly pale especially if I avoid sun but do have more of an olive tone so if I do go out in the sun I brown without ever getting red. I usually dont wear makeup especially foundation as it has like a texture thing for me I dont like. But when I recently went to go find something with light coverage for when I do feel like doing the thing I had so many damn options I left without anything. Like there were at least 4 hardly even different shades in every collection and brand and up to like 12. I was spoiled for choice. So much so that I couldnt choose. And its a shame that I have up to 12 options that could work for me and youll have to go all indie to get something that might work and even then its like a choice of 2...ugh

Year a great skincare routine will make it so that the makeup looks very nice but not needed
Dior makes one that works for us, but it's expensive. However, it lasts forever.

I saw some folks with darker skintones (but not deep) and they were able to use the deepest in smaller amounts, maybe that will work!

I am so light that I turn invisible when standing in front of a white wall and I love watching your reviews and trying to support brands that you say have actually deeeeep shades. What I find super sad is that in Switzerland most physical stores (online is different) only have a shade range til max mid-brown (if you're lucky) as if black people don't exist here. Which is bullshit. There are people of every skin color living in Switzerland. (Woops, sorry for the rant)

I screamed YESSSS at that swatch & blend! It makes me so happy when makeup brands have shades for a wide variety of skin tones. I have fair skin but with an olive undertone, so I've had many struggles in the past getting a good match, but seeing friends with deep tones have even worse luck. I only buy products from brands that do a wide range of shades because that's the brands I want to support. Like you said, if they can do it everyone can!
I have a few products from Milk and love them. My favorite is the "Kush fiber brow gel", a tinted brow gel (good range of shades) with fibers that help fluff & lengthen, with a nice small applicator. Their products tend to go a long way and they use good ingredients too. 💗

contour looks so good on your skin! I am pale AF, whatever contour I put on myself in real life it looks super obvious and dirty. Contour is made for dark women

I am so happy to see companies are finally making products you can use. It does feel a bit warmer or neutral and I like a really neutral to cool tone contour mixed with a little bronzer. So for me if I had this makeup brand I would probably add something more cool toned so it is more of a true shadow contour and also have a warmer bronzing one. It is just insane to me how companies will just not make products to include all shades. Do they not want to make money?!? Just make less units of the shades that are on less people. I would want everyone included but maybe that is because I am mixed American/Brazilian…

I just picked up the Milk contour last Friday and used it today...this rocks for us dark-skinned girls. However, the only flaw I have is the packaging. I also purchased the blush and when taking off the plastic lid, a lot of the product came off in the lid. The same thing happened when I went to use the contour this morning. I am still able to use it, but it's just annoying that this has now happened twice. Again, I love the contour since it works so well with my skin tone, thanks Milk!

Wow! This contour looks great on you! My hairdresser is from Sudan and she also liked it very much! Her skin tone is more on the cooler side tho, but she also said that it’s cool that it’s buildable. You’ve mentioned, that it can serve as a bronzer, so I liked that you can play with it and now I’m thinking about checking Milk for myself. I can’t find a concealer for my stupid tone, I’m white as a chalk, and the only foundation that suits me is Dior in tone 0N, and there’s no concealer lighter than that that wouldn’t make me gray. Eww. I also started ordering from the company directly, because I feel so uncomfortable, when I ask for 0N in a big store, women often laugh and say: “Don’t you know, that 0 means 0 colour? Are you transparent as a jellyfish?” 😢

okayy bc why is milk coming for everyone? it looks tooo good. the only thing was that if its marketed as a contour, i feel like it should be matte?? bc glowing is gonna reflect the light, so it does just look bronzed , but with the powder it looks SOO good

As soon as I saw it I thought bronzer as it’s a warm brown. The only issue is the shade below is far below.

Also with very deep tones you focus on brightening strategically to contour and with lighter tones you deepen. It's like drawing on white paper with a dark pencil or in black paper with a light pencil. Same concept.

Even though it was most definitely more visible when you put the contour on the second time (with other makeup) it still made a (small, but visible) difference without other makeup :)

The new Milk drop is heavenly. I am insanely pale and very cool-toned, more so than my albino friend, somehow. Only contour stick that has actually worked for me (the lightest shade in the collection). I also notice that women w/ darker skin AND a undertone have these least amount of products to work with. So glad that more options are coming out.
Juvia's place is also great for diverse undertones with complexion products. Makeup by Mario has the best diverse under-tones for products like shadows, blush, etc.
Lon Don Eli, evey human has an undertone, now matter how dark their skin is.

the funniest thing is, my skin tone is always considered the darkest shade for a lot of beauty brands. i tend to be the contour shades. and i’m not even dark skin, im brown. im in india currently so milk, fenty, and rare beauty are not here. the market for lighter skin tones is higher as well. i cant find anything. i ended up finding nudestix, but they are always sold out with their deepest shade. idk wtf im supposed to be doing now 😭

I am fairly pale especially if I avoid sun but do have more of an olive tone so if I do go out in the sun I brown without ever getting red. I usually dont wear makeup especially foundation as it has like a texture thing for me I dont like. But when I recently went to go find something with light coverage for when I do feel like doing the thing I had so many damn options I left without anything. Like there were at least 4 hardly even different shades in every collection and brand and up to like 12. I was spoiled for choice. So much so that I couldnt choose. And its a shame that I have up to 12 options that could work for me and youll have to go all indie to get something that might work and even then its like a choice of 2...ugh
