Yeah... Kirk was thinking hard reliving 1986 , and thay he was supposed to be in that bunk on the bus . Has to put a huge outlook on life years later . Cliff would be proud they concured the world with his influence .
AJFA to this day is still one of my all time favourite albums, the progressive and heavier style Metallica took on that record made me what I am today.
When they played Orion in the beginning I got a bit emotional because you could see the look on James' and Kirk's faces. You can tell they miss Cliff. I miss the days of seeing him play.
They have been playing Orion for 36 years, wonder what memories they have after playing this song so long, you can see them remembering memories, rock on!🤟
i shoulda specified why i wrote this. i really meant it about the rehearsal, not the entire concert. and if you like Metalliaca, who in the hell doesnt know that cliff is dead and when for that matter? its kinda obvious in the sound after Master Of Puppets.
I thought that they are looking older than it really is. When thay played Orion. It's the only Metallica's song which cannot be played with the smiles on their faces. Masterpiece. Thank you, my idol.
Kirk and James' faces when Kirk played the first solo, I kinda felt their heartbreak about Cliff for a few seconds. RIP Clifford Lee Burton, You are a legend, and you are gone but never forgotten.
I love this video 'cause it shows them practicing raw in the beginning. Then a musician can see that it's all about the song and not the sound giving hope to a songwriter like myself!
Saw them in Vancouver Friday and Saturday. Holy shit I've been to quite a few concerts in my life time and this was defiantly one of the best! The whole crowd into it singing along, throwing up the horns it was a crazy experience. The sound and lighting was amazing. My dad who is 48 and has been to an uncountable amount of concerts even said it was amazing. if you missed out on the shows I'm sorry.
I love how they are building the statue in the background. It's goods to have something to look at while the music cranks out. Would be great to see lots of these like a snake and a big hammer for kill em' all.
I think that they should give Lars a mic live so he can do backing vocals too cause i recently watched the rehearsals from the apollo in 20134 and they were messing around having everyone sing hit the lights and they gave lars a mic and it sounded really full when lars done backing too and i think that james should assist the backing vocal too to give it a fuller more rounded round
"Hammett noted the length of the songs being problematic for fans and the band. "Touring behind it, we realized that the general consensus was that songs were too fucking long," he said. "One day after we played 'Justice' and got off the stage one of us said, 'we're never fucking playing that song again.' He is also quoted in an interview for SoWhat! magazine as saying "'Justice' was a bit much for me. I couldn't stand watching the front row start to yawn by the eight or ninth minute.""
+Evan S hard as hell to sing right while playing aggressive rhythm guitar. I bet the will play it befor ethe stop touring tho. They played escape and frayed ends of sanity, so they will probably play Eye.
Great to see ole "Doris" out again, I remember you guys blowing her up every night on the Justice tour, that was a great fucking tour, so glad I saw it multiple times!
Got a little misty eyed when lady justice fell apart..but ain't it the truth....our world is falling apart at the seams...one by one...Metallica Forever!!!
You came to a video of a band that apparently you don't like, only to leave a comment like that. Instead of insulting Metallica, if you don't like it, watch another video. That's something I don't understand with people on here. If you don't like it, instead of bashing it, move on. Simple as that.
Saludos.
I just saw them live in Edmonton where they started recording their 3D movie and they played pretty much every song flawlessly. I guess they kind of have to since they were recording
James' vocals may be a bit lacking at his age, but props to them all for laying it all out there on this one, they've played it very very few times ever live, and everything was on point musically, Kirk nailed the solo, the harmonies were good.... IMO it was epic!
Cliff saved his life. It can't be a coincidence that they bet for the bed and Cliff insisted he wanted the bed Kirk had. That same bed is what made Cliff flew out the window during the crash and broke his neck.
Yeah, i'm so agree! I don't understand why people hate Lars so much. alright, he's not the best drummer, but he's a great man and have SOO much pashion in his playing. Lars Ülrich is MY favorite drummer! \m/

Agree - the Binge Shit and Purge DVD showed Metallica at the top of their game - Lars had more energy in one song then than he does in a whole concert now . . . the joys of ageing
That black snakebyte is such a killer thing. Amazing guitar that James designed for himself. Really looks like the guitar is a part of him and his style.
antes de que acabe el año quiero decir que el concierto de Metallica del 7 de Ago en Mexico fue de lo mejor del año, yo fui ese dia y nunca lo olvidare :D
I've always said that RTL-MOP-AJFA are all equally great and where Metallica perfected their songwriting formula. I think it's the greatest streak of albums by any band in history and you can't go wrong having one of those as your favorite Metallica album. That's where they peaked creatively imo. I know some outliers have KEA and TBA as their favorite and a few even picking their later albums. I'd be willing to bet that 75% or more fans would choose either RTL-MOP-AJFA as their best record.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
That's what i call true Metallica.. This is it .. 1990 was the beginning of the end.. But i still love these guys.. Best crew in the world at the moment
it is really sad, but true, they got old. lars' drums are not the same, james' vocals are not the same, kirks' guitar is not the same, there is not cliff. but i still love them! i still wish i'd been born in 70's or 80's, i would have experienced that good old amazing heavy metallica.

I closed after the Orion part. I felt like... idk I had a lump in my throat. And this one made me so sad idk why. 😞 R.I.P Cliff

When you see lady liberty fall during Justice in person it's pretty crazy emotionally.
'93 flashbacks
Saw it live on the ...and Justice for All tour. Was amazing! Queensrÿche opened for them.
its not even lady liberty
haha, lady justice not liberty
Makes me sad, too.
Orion gives me the chills each time I hear it. No matter how many times I've heard it. Such an epic song!

When they played Orion in the beginning I got a bit emotional because you could see the look on James' and Kirk's faces. You can tell they miss Cliff. I miss the days of seeing him play.
I agree. I also think those looks were because they are astonished they've put up with Lars' drumming for so long.
To me they just look bored out of their minds
you destroyed me brother
The look on Kirk's face, it says it all
Orion is brilliant, RIP Burton
I Was there and I have to say, it was the best day of my life

They have been playing Orion for 36 years, wonder what memories they have after playing this song so long, you can see them remembering memories, rock on!🤟
@BasketCase420yeah, they played it for the first time in 2003
i know why they do this, to remember Cliff. look at James' and Kirk's and Lars' face the whole time..you can tell..r
Why? Justice wasn't even written/released when Cliff died...
i shoulda specified why i wrote this. i really meant it about the rehearsal, not the entire concert. and if you like Metalliaca, who in the hell doesnt know that cliff is dead and when for that matter? its kinda obvious in the sound after Master Of Puppets.
+cody santillo That is until Lars laughs at 4:06
The entire album was basically written for him though

You are just as old as Metallica
Whenever Metallica has a farewell tour, their last concert should have the statue crumble one last time whenever they get to the song.
How can this concert be so underated

Wow, amazing they finally played this technical masterpiece live!
It's one of their easier songs imo, but I agree they must play it more often!

The timing of Lady Justice falling apart was much better on Live Shit '89. This one felt random like plop
Yeah, the timing was a bit shit, too early if anything
On my birthday! Not 2012 but still this is badass
this is my favorite metallica song
I love how they are building the statue in the background. It's goods to have something to look at while the music cranks out. Would be great to see lots of these like a snake and a big hammer for kill em' all.
The part at 3:07 made me cry, you can see that Kirk is trying not to cry and it is a beautiful part of the song.
Wow, James sounds great here! They're all on point. Minus Robert's back up vocals...
I saw that too. It did. And they really should.
The question is whether he can play and do backing vocals without screwing up. More than usual of course.
2012 Lars already had it tough to play drums, to do backing vocals would be impossible for him then 😂
@@paradigmshiftz7Yeah, Lars was a little rusty then. I'm really happy to see him getting back on track in the past couple of years
