Obviously you a no idea how big and how deep the atlantic is. From experience I can tell you it's very difficult to locate items in the ocean even when you know where you put them. I'm an ocean engineer and I'm always telling people :If you're not prepared to lose it don't bring it on the boat and definitely don't put it in the water." If it has mass the ocean will eat it. GPR is Ground Penetrating RADAR, radar is of no use underwater. Underwater SONAR it whats used. RAdio Detection And Ranging vs SOund Navigation And Ranging
