Hi Andrea! I didn’t finish watching the video yet, but you mentioned that even when you leave your breakouts alone, they still leave a mark behind. This has been happening to me as well (and didn’t happen in the past), and I just think our skin changes as we age. One product that works wonders, and is very cheap, is Ambi Fade Cream. If I put a dot of this cream on a dark mark and just let it sit, the mark fades dramatically. I usually do this right after my night routine, or if I’m going to be home one day, I put a dot on the spot(s) as soon as I finish my morning routine and let it sit there all day. I have faded very dark marks in 3 days time, and as long as I keeping wearing my spf, the marks do not return. I highly recommend.

InnisFree has been my sunscreen since it came out, it’s just good. Even my edges are not staying down in this weather here. And I haven’t been wearing much makeup because of the heat, lashes and brows.

Summer time I like to my makeup light or no makeup, because when I have too much going on on my face I sweat and then I get oily and that's not a vibe🙈.

MAC Spiked and Stud eyebrow pencil (just have to do before sunscreen)
Whatever eyeshadow that speaks to me usually a neutral color. I also use a black or dark brown eyeshadow for eyeliner now.
LINX lashes are now my favs when I’m not wearing my natural lashes…just need to find a bottom lash mascara. My bottom lashes are super tiny.

Have you tried the New elf soft glam satin foundation, I am yet to try it; I also love the Beekman1802 milk tint it's so good. I tried the urban decay face bond foundation and it supposed to be self setting but not for me. Enjoyed the grwm. 💕

I would have occasional breakouts and my dermatologist put me on Azelic acid and it has been a game changing for me. I don’t even get them when Aunt Flo is coming. That and prescription retinol with consistency have cleared up my skin so much.
I use a few of the products you mentioned. My favorite foundation is by Rare Beauty. I’m liking Dior backstage powder-no-powder. Elf camo concealer and Elf lash n roll mascara. LYS setting spray. ❤

I have used the fenty hair 5 in 1 heat protectant several times and have learned you only need a very small amount for your entire head. If you apply to much then it will feel the way you described 😊 hope you try it again and love it!

I went to the dermatologist last week and she prescribed pills to help with my acne. My skin wasn't too bad. I had a little hormonal acne and a little bit of what she called bacterial acne and the medicine has cleared my acne and dark spot in less than a week.

I have that NYX concealer in cinnamon, it's a good match and I use it the same way, when I use it😂, (as a spot concealer alone & set it with loose powder " I like the cheapy Jcat banana powder from the BSS, it's my go to setting powder it just works), sometimes I like the NYX concealer sometimes I don't 😂 it either looks good or it looks dry and cakey but I'm pretty sure I apply it the same every time I don't have many finicky products but that one is for me 🤷 I really like the L'Oreal Infallible bronzer, I use the shade 400Tan it's perfection lol the color is not too dramatic it's a pretty natural shade for my skin tone, except it's definitely not Infallible 😂😂😂 it does disappear off of my nose 👃 but maybe 🤔 it's because lately I haven't been wearing anything under it to help it stick and my skin is oily, lately I have just been doing my eyes ( Lashes Always!!😂), lips and applying blush and highlight and nose contour, no foundation, concealer or powder 😂 and I only do my eyes like once a week and avoid my lids when doing my skincare 😂 and only touching my eyes up daily by just going over my crease with a brown and reapplying the lid color and bottom liner/lash line, nose contour, blush, highlight, lip liner and a lip stain it only takes me like 5 minutes to make myself look like I tried!🤷😂 LMAO 🤣 😂 (DON'T JUDGE ME!! 😂😭... ❤❤❤

I’ve been loving Elf Moisturizer SPF, the Sun touch glow and Black Girl SPF. Anything else breaks me out, burns my eyes and itch my eyes.

In my experience, tretinoin clears my dark marks. They don't stick around at all.

Hi Andrea, I also have oily combo skin and am a bit older than you. I also have acne-prone skin, so I started to incorporate retinol in my evening skincare to prevent them. That works amazingly for me, I have used Retin-A for years now to keep them at bay. It also works as an anti-ageing product as well, which is an absolute bonus. It's also great to incorporate salicylic acid into your skincare as a cleanser or moisturiser. I usually incorporate that into my morning skincare routine. A dermatologist should be able to help with recommendations, but for our melanated skin we are more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, so it's better to avoid getting any damage to the skin at all. Check out Dr Alexis Stephens and Dr Vanita Rattan both derms of colour with YT accounts.
