How has this only got 1M views? One of those tracks that felt like an instant classic when it was released. A perfect pop song.

I agree, one of the best songs of the 1990s. It actually sounds slightly 60s or 70s in style, so it's amazing it's an original song. Slightly Carole King style if you know what I mean.

Indeed so. I didn't know who did this, so just looked it up as it was on the radio. It has that "old" jangly vibe melodic energy to it. Doesn't sound 28 July 1997 at all.
I think that was the point the band had in mind when they made it. They are always genre-bending.

I was 8 and to me it was just as prominent as Barbie Girl in terms of popularity so not sure why it's got less than 1 million views, maybe most people forgot this gem.

When I was a kid my parents used to play me both the Beatles and Motown/Soul classics all the time, and I have always loved them. Then in 1997, I was 15 and this song by Texas, a band I already knew and liked, appeared, and I fell in love from the start, because it was a sound I loved, but it was not common at all at the time, and I couldn't believe I was hearing something like that in a modern song. It made me a fan for life and 25 years later I love it even more and I still think it is one of their top 3 songs ever.

I heard this song nonstop as a kid back in the 90s but never knew who the artist was.
After randomly hearing it again for the first time in 20 odd years, I was shocked to find out the artist was the band Texas. Really does sound like a Supremes song with a rock flavour.
