Watch in HD! At four years old Digger the Clydesdale still has some growing to do, but at 19hh already, the staff at Belwade Farm in Aboyne are wondering just how much!
Digger arrived at World Horse Welfare in December after a call for help from his owners, who were suffering from serious health problems and finding it increasingly difficult to cope with such a big horse.

So sad to read that Digger was put to sleep in 2017 due to ongoing health problems. Such a beautiful, majestic animal, RIP big guy.
Digger is a beautiful Clydesdale who has a bright future. He did not suffer from neglect or cruelty by his previous owners. They were good people who were suffering from their own health problems so they entrusted him to WHW. At 19hh he is huge but he is not the biggest or tallest horse in the UK. At the moment that record goes to Prince, a Shire in Kent who is 19.2hh. Great to see that he is now a drum horse for HM Queen. I have two beautiful Clydesdales and adore this fabulous and rare breed of horse.
I just looked Digger up on World Horse Welfare's website. They had to put him down in December 2017,because his health was deteriorating. He'd developed absesses that didn't respond well to treatment,he was in pain and in low spirits, withdrawn. At least he did get in another eight years of happy living as an ambassador for WHW.People loved to come and visit him.
Precious and beautiful animal
What a sweet, sweet gelding. I hope he's been adopted into a loving forever home. A gentle giant like him deserves it :')
i believe he was taken on by the home guards as a drum horse, not sure though
What a big old teddy bear he is!!! I hope he's doing ok and that he's in a good home. You can tell he's a big softie, and he'll be wonderful for anyone who gets him. I'm a big lover of horses, and I say God bless all these people who are doing their best to get these horses out of deplorable conditions. There ARE good people out there!
Every 2 years or so someone goes up to the woods behind my house (it's not my property) and they use these gorgeous Clydesdales to pull the logs and branches out from the woods. I love it because not only are horses beautiful, but they're eco-friendly, don't require gas, and are extremely strong. They can get into places where tractors can't and it's nice knowing that people still do this :)
This gentle giant is so beautiful!
Oh my gosh, I wish I could have him!
I just love draft horses so darn much. ;-;
Just a stunning boy! His canter looks so nice, his back barely moves!
I remember i met him at one of their open days :) he was so big and friendly! even my mum (who is scared of horses) fell in love with him! :D
what a gentle giant ! old video so I'm praying this fine horse was given a great home and able to work!
I love to watch the horses happy and playing in the field! I hope Digger's leg issues were resolved, he seems to have a sweet temperment.
My wife's old TB was 18.2 hands. He was 34 when he passed (2007). He was the biggest horse I'd ever seen. Digger is so handsome.
What a Gorgeous creature!!
What an awesome horse. ! ! Hope he finds a forever home.
i love drafts espeially clydesdales. i've almost never hear one getting into big trouble and i've always heard that they are sweet and just big teddy bears. i've met one or two draft horses (i can't remember what it was exactly) they were just so sweet and gentle.
Absolutely love Clydesdales. You go Digger.
He caught my heart immediately. What a lovely horse. So full of life and energy. Too bad i live in Swe, otherwise I would have assigned to take care of him
I think the way the two horses are playing at the end is super cute! :3
what an absolutely beautiful horse. so glad WHW is there to help horses like him!
I just read that he was put down at the end of 2017 because of health issues :( But he apparently led a very happy life up until then, thank you WHW for doing everything in your power for this gentle giant!
Excellent work by this organization.
Aw, you can tell he's a cuddlebug.
that is one big boy, u hope he gets better, hes so beautiful
Wow. He's Beautiful! If Only I Could Have Him!
What a beautiful boy
would love to rehome a horse like digger. Have looked in to getting a horse for our forestry business for years and to rehome one would be simply magical.
i work there on saturdays!!! i love digger he is soo cool.
Thank you for sharing.
Pretty baby. What a sweet horse
Hes absolutely beautiful!
He looks like he would be a good ride. I used to ride a Percheron and now I ride a miniature draft. They are amazing rides until you get to the canter then bareback does not work so well.
He is a beautiful horse
aww! I'd love a horse like him! I lve big giant heavy horses!
He is magnificent. What a beautiful boy.
I remember when I was working at a rest home and we had Ben he was a shire kinda dapple grey patching and he broke his pelvis and his back legs would swing quite far apart but it just shows that not every horse with a problem gets put down I remember him like yesterday and he been gone over 20 yrs plus il never for get him nor others I got attached to ,,,🥕🍏🍎🙏🏻🙏🏻
He's lovely!!!
If I am right, I remember seeing him on tv doing something to do with the queen, and I think he might also be the tallest horse in the uk, either way, he did really well :)
A lot of companies these days use heavy horse breeds for logging - they're more environmentally friendly, and can access areas where tractors/lorries can't.
That black pony had a lot of attitude
WOW! that IS a tall horse.
He has the nicest canter for a heavy!!
I love Clydesdales cause they have whiskers and they are so cute!
we went to see Digger a few months ago and i couldn't believe the size of him. Hope he is doing well.
i love Clydesdales they are so cute and big
he sure is beautiful. a very majestic horse he is.
Picked up on the stringhalt ,poor boy...hope his surgery goes well.
Good luck to you Digger!
oh man! thats a big boy! hes so pretty though!
Rest in Peace Digger - poor boy.
Lovely boy
I love Clydesdales! :D
He moves remarkably well despite the problems in his hind legs.
If the World Horse Welfare were a little less focused on how useful a horse can be - horses can be a blessing and that is useful enough! Any other use after that - is a bonus. I also will pray he finds a good forever home.
So terribly sorry, that Digger hat put to sleep. If I only could I would do everthing to save all poor horses because horses mean everything to me.Wish you all the best.
1:12 YIKES that gait...

could u imagine riding a horse that big, it woud be like feeling a thunder storm under you
that would be amazin
that massive man seems so quiet :D
God bless you all..
Bonnie and to u too
I hope he finds a good home, am I the only who thinks he would look lovely in a horse and cart?
He's enormous all right! 700 Kg is gigantic but his head is not very large. Hope the recently announced economic cutbacks at Buckingham Palace won't affect him much.
I want him
I'm pretty sure his a drummer horse now
What a lovely gelding. What centre he is? He 's so beautiful. Such a gentle giant.
He is so darn cute ;-;
he is so pretty...
OMG HE IS ENORMOUS
he makes the fully grown woman look like a child hes so tall
Beings that it's been almost eight years since this video was up loaded, his future has been determined already. But I was thinking of the Budwiser farms in America. If he's a huge horse and getting bigger he might be a tourist attraction.
Holy bananas he's huge!!!
3:45 was so cute ! Watching the little one playfully nipp Digger in the arse ❤❤❤❤
at least this lady tried to find him a decent home.
o_o I dont think I have a girth big enough if I could have gotten him
Awww☺️☺️
So ... what happened with the chronic lameness issues in his rear hind leg(s) and joints? ... did he get the exploratory orthopaedic surgery needed ... or did he have to get put down? An update for digger would be fantastic. Thank you.
Oh dear ... I have just read a recent comment mentioning he was put down in 2017. I guess the surgery wasn't an option or unsuccessful ... sad news.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
