Wow! Why are not thousands of viewers watching this reaction. Raul Molo is just great and he even got the great Flacco Jimenez playing the Mexican accordion. PLEASE more Mavericks and also the Texas Torontos
The Mavericks were in the category of the Bakersfield California sound. With Buck Owen's being the founder and Dwight Yoakum trying to reinvigorate and keep the genre alive and The Mavericks coming in third. I'm not quite sure where the Kentucky Headhunters fall in but they are from my part of the world. So walk softly on this heart of mine.
You got it the old Buck Owen's Dwight Yoakum Bakersfield California sound. The Mavericks were so respectful and loved that style of music it doesn't seem right that their careers disappeared overnight. My favorite song by them was "Oh What A Thrill"
I am so glad you decided to cover the Mavericks! The reason you hear Dwight Yoakum in there is because their guitar player, Eddie Perez played for Dwight for several years before joining the Mavericks. They are one of the top Spanish language groups in the US and draw thousands when they work in the southwest. The strong accordion and horns sound of their group is due to the German influence no one knows entered Mexico. Listen to them do "Sway" sometime and get ready to do a dirty cha-cha.
"Just Want To Dance The Night Away" by the Mavericks done at the Royal Albert Hall, London 1998. The whole crowd was on their feet dancing. Raul is amazing.
Love The Mavericks!!! Lead singer/songwriter Raul Malo is so underrated. They have a great rockin' Tex/Mex sound and in some of their ballads Malo's vocals will bring Roy Orbison to mind.
@@jeffjohnson9911 Malo wrote virtually all the songs on the first two Mavericks albums by himself. Starting with this album, their third, he began to collaborate on most of the new tracks.
Great band. Raul Malo is the best singer no one has ever heard of. They have a great live video of them playing "Tonight The Bottle Let Me Down." It's worth checking out.
----------- You've got an excellent ear and must've been paying attention to your earlier posts. I've often thought the same things... the Dwight Yoakam category is where I'd place this songs. It's a culmination of Country, Rockabilly, and perhaps Zydeco / Mexican. Sounds like Dwight & Buck doing Streets of Bakersfield
Route to No Day's Date. I found at 3 of 4 on their knees with the best cousin. I mean, I went married and then I wonder then I got wonder what went wrong. Question mark
Nobody even remembers the best sign that Glenn Campbell ever did? Of course, maybe in the old man. I know that that was Tanya Tonya Tucker T. U. C. K e r she was a songbird nobody even knows how tanya tucker is

Tejano country! “I expected ‘way too much of you” - great line. Always fun watching you move and react.
Tasha, you might be the only person I've ever seen dance so well from the shoulder's up!
Thanks 😂

Eddie wasn't in the band when this album was released. He joined in 2003.

Raul Malo co wrote this with long time NRBQ lead guitarist Big Al Anderson.

That's Flaco Jimenez on accordion. He's a legend. You should check out the live concert version, they put on a GREAT show.
Great reaction. I’ve seen them several times and I must say they are a great live act. Perhaps better live than on recordings.
I always liked the Mavericks!
I saw these guys open for Junior Brown in the 90s, great show 👍
Robert Reynolds the bass player was married to Trisha yearwood before she married Garth Brooks 🤠🎸this is more Mexican tejano county music
I knew you’d love these guys - they have such a great sound. You’d really love “Come Unto Me”.
Catch the video of this at the Calgary Stampede. They bring the house down!

Look up their performance of Orbison's Born to be Blue.
Born to be Blue is an original Mavericks song from 2012. Are you thinking of Blue Bayou?
Live or Video 50s threw 80s 😊
I hear a Lil Zedico in there.....
If you liked this, you would love Texas tornadoes. Flaco plays with them.
Route to No Day's Date. I found at 3 of 4 on their knees with the best cousin. I mean, I went married and then I wonder then I got wonder what went wrong. Question mark
