Thanks for all the amazing information you willingly share and great content! I’ve been falling timber for 18 years and I do almost all my saw work. But I’ve never been willing to try porting them myself. But with all the amazing info you put out I’m gonna give it a try. I’ve got a spare jug laying around for my 365 special so I figured why not. Keep up the great work you do!
I'm trying to get Uncle Harvey to make me one of those stainless steel 461 pipes. I definitely do the end take and put the little finger ports in it I'm starting to get some really good wash patterns on top my piston now.. that's why I like watching you guys we all put our brains together make one big brain or one badass saw like Uncle Harvey was talking about getting everybody they're putting all their little information together building a saw I think that would been cool go to his house for a week Tinker around on Saws I'll bring the tent
hey Ironhorse i liked the video when you and colin was driving around your town in your truck, any chance of another video like that? it looks like a nice peaceful town. From England!
Did this stuff all the time when i worked in saw shop 15 years ago . still have full custom pipes used to use scooter pipes to hot rod saws with porting and big boring lol funny seeing its new again . in Rochester NY ran rc fuel in in weed whips and hedge trimers for fun lol . i can send picks of my mounting and pipe for Stihl saw i moded still have it
Something I’ve done on a saw was M1 methanol injection right into the carb under pressure threw a jet to atomize it, it creates a false environment, a lot of high horsepower cars use this to gain a lot of horsepower, my dad had a 2006 gto with methanol injection and that’s where I got the idea from just screwing around and it really makes a saw come to life, I used a small pump and a lipo rc car battery to power and a momentary switch to activate it, wasn’t pretty but it worked
That really really looks like a very very nice, high quality cylinder, very impressive casting and machining aside from little dress up..that just make you do ur own QC lol nan tha things purty
I use klotz super techniplate 2 stroke racing synthetic with 20% castor oil runs great in the saws smells good burns your eyes i love it it really does run alittle better than regular husqvarna 2 stroke oil or stihl oil
hi,this is very intresting. that what you did on the intake remainds my old Jlo engine cylinder. we call them here butterfly cylinder, its from the 50s. keep up with the good videos, hope you understund my bad english.
You ever ported a Echo Cs620p would love to see ya do it, I think they’re a really overlooked and saw, love mine. Really appreciate all the information you are giving.
best castor oil i used was Shell X100, which is a synthetic fortified first press castor - able to hold in petrol as well as alcohol fuels. Very stable and low carbon buildup.
That looks like a bicycle engine banana pipe! Are you aware of the experimentation going on with the chainsaw cylinders on the Chinese bicycle engines? I'm currently trying to find the right bolt hole spacing for one to experiment on myself!
I made one a couple years ago and you want to talk about burn my eyeballs out it definitely burnt my eyeballs running that thing it was fun I didn't like paying $30 a gallon but it was fun
Dang if I knew you was gonna run this off nitro I'd of commented about doing dimples on the floor similar to a golf ball with your 2 ramp touch on the top. The dimples helps hold the nitro or meth in tiny puddles on the floor and atomiz's fuel better at topend more of a high rpm combo I have figured out with constantly at high rpms might load up on lowend and try and die but worth it for topend.
Thanks Harvey for sharing the info about the intake roof. I’m currently porting a 395xp and was wondering want I should do the the roof of the intake. Would you do the same thing to a 395xp?
