I got it working and played it for a bit. My list of best MK versions: 1) Arcade 2) DOS/PC CD version (Aside from the lower resolution, pretty much spot on. I also like how they replaced the scream of the characters with a new chilling one when you finish them off. The only bad thing is you start with 5 credits and can't change it and the game is quite challenging even on normal). 3) Sega CD version (Pretty much spot with the color and music fix hack, minus the load times against shang tsung). 4) Sega Genesis (With the color hack, this game is 4th best version for me. 6) Jakk's Pacific (The AI is cheap and stupid at the same time breaking the flow of the game. The backgrounds are static but look nice and the music is alright) 5) Amiga (Gameplay is smoother than Jakk's version believe it or not and I like the music but there are small shortcomings everywhere that bring it down from Jakk's version). 6) Game Gear/ Master System (plays like crap but sounds and looks alright) 7) Gameboy (It's a mess in every category except maybe the graphics).
@@edzvision I would say Amiga plays better even with the 2 button setup. It just feels smoother and the AI is closer to the arcade and Sega versions so that's #5
This is the only version I have yet to play that is not emulated from the arcade. I wish there was a PC port of this version. I can see this one being #2 on my list after the arcade and before the DOS version. My list for now is : Arcade>Dos>Sega CD>Sega Genesis>Amiga>Snes (gameplay is laggy).
I've never played this version, but it looks pretty cool & very close to the Arcade original (which I do play on PlayStation 2 & 3). I have the Basic Fun mini Arcade cabinet, which is just the Sega Genesis version but the blood cheats are disabled (I know, i tried entering the ABACABB & DULLARD codes). It's too bad the Basic Fun mini Arcade cabinet wasn't just this version as (again) it seems really cool & has blood. But here's every version of MK (1992) I've played... -Arcade ported to PS2 & PS3 -Super Nintendo -Game Boy -Sega CD -Sega Genesis (I also have the cartridge on Sega Genesis in addition to the Basic Fun mini Arcade cabinet)
6:18 that looks kinda bad. Should have removed the spikes in the foreground so it doesn't' look like they are walking over them. Also I never saw that face right in from the the pillar before.
How the hell did they make this sound and feel more like the arcade than all of the other versions?! This piece of plastic sh*t pisses all over the Mega CD version
That's because this is a small Jakks Pacific video game controller that connects to your TV, and not an actual Arcade machine. So of course a lot of the sound effects are going to be cut out of the game, it's due to memory limitations.
You should never be allowed to play a video game if you legit only know how to do Sub-Zero's freeze and then uppercut. If that's how you play an entire game, don't play games.
Clearly you never played MK1, there is no combos or fancy moves it's a old game, i used this strategy because is the best one furthermore Sub-Zero don't do more than that in this game so, yeah video game inspector
It's very impressive they fit the game and have space for music and sound effects on a 4mb SOC in a game controller.
One of the lesser known, and best looking conversions of MK...
Such a cool port!
Raiden really LOVES it to dive into Sub-Zero's Ice-Projectiles...
Esse é o mortal Kombat que o Super Nintendo não teve.
Exato
Thank you for uploading this, glad to know the Reptile fight works
tks, it's an honor to have your visit on my channel

JAKKS Pacific or Amiga in 5th?

I just got this game used online. A very good port despite being ported by one guy.
que recuerdo fue mi primer juego de mortal kombat que tuve cuando tenia 5 años uwu
If only the Super Nintendo version were like this.

not gonna lie,but that's impressive for a plug n play console
How did you get the picture this clear? Is this a rom? As far as I know, the system only supports composite.
Yep, Is this a rom
Working in MAME
KEK, dwarf Goro!
I Sent A Request For The Soundtrack For This Game Will This Likely Take A Couple Days To Upload Because I Know Someone Has To Record The Songs.
es una versión intermedia entre SNES y la arcade, en cuanto a gráficos y sonido
No Shadows, no Parallax-Scrolling and no moving Details in the Background - but it's still a good Port of the Original MK!

MK I gameplay :v
@@edzvision I have this Jakk's Pacific-Version - I like to mess up and bother the AI! It's the best Port of MK1 by far!

Holy Fuck I use to play this for hours my fav is Liu Kang 😭
Why does goros layer on this version sound better than arcade
anyone know where i can download the MAME ROM for this and do i hav to match the MAME version i have?? HELP lol

Can u pls show us how to do the skills on remonte pls?😅
Nothing changes from the original arcade game
@@edzvision thank u alot
But how do u do the ice ball with sub-zero?
It was released in 2005
There are no Ice Axes for MK1 Sub-Zero.
He never had Ice Axes in any version up until maybe MK9 and onwards. He just has freeze powers.
@@LermaBean he's not as skilled as Kuai Liang
Why is Sonya vomiting blood on a mugshot?
6:18 that looks kinda bad. Should have removed the spikes in the foreground so it doesn't' look like they are walking over them. Also I never saw that face right in from the the pillar before.
Looks like some devs heads on those spikes, probably from Digital Eclipse specifically.
@@LermaBean Nope, those are the heads of developers that made the original arcade game at Midway.
Arcade stands the best over THIS version.
Yeah? Well, no s##t
Parese un mortal kombat pc engine
Toasty
How the hell did they make this sound and feel more like the arcade than all of the other versions?! This piece of plastic sh*t pisses all over the Mega CD version
Because the hardware of this plug n play is superior to almost all consoles of the time
You spamming devil you !
If it wasnt for the awful graphics this game would be quite impressive
Awful??? Look at the consoles.
@@Saver310 ik its awful
To be fair, this isn't the worst port of MK ever. Not the best, but a long way from being the worst
It's much better than the 16bit-Ports!
Sounds so bad like a mix of genesis and pc sounds

There is also only 4mb worth of space available on the system.

OK video game player inspector, where is this rule written? on Plug & Play is the best strategy
